View 3 Replies View RelatedThe android sdk offers the standard menu icons via android.R.drawable.X, however some standard icons, such as ic_menu_refresh (the refresh icon), are missing from android.R.Is there any way to get the original icons, maybe by extracting them from the applications? I already checked the Android source, but it's a bit too huge to look everywhere for the images.I know the androiddrawableexplorer website, but I would like to get the correct hdpi, mdpi and ldpi version, preferable the original ones.Do you have any idea?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've added an inserted in Gallery using android API as following:
Images.Media.insertImage(ctx.getContentResolver(),
"scard/test.jpg", "Hello", "description");
Actually the image that I passed its full path (scard/test.jpg) is already successfully inserted in the DB, but when you open the gallery you can't see it unless you switch off/on the device or Mount/Unmount the external memory. It there any way to refresh the gallery on demand?
All Do anybody know how to make the STK icon available in main menu. Now, I can't see the STK icon in main menu, even though the RIL has sent the message "RIL_UNSOL_STK_PROACTIVE_COMMAND" about SET UP MENU to upper App layer. And RIL also receive correct terminal response (RIL_ REQUEST _STK_SEND_TERMINAL_RESPONSE) from upper App layer.

After implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords. the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it. In my sample GPS-class (see code below) I just changed the text of a text view....but how to do that in map view?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it is possible to customize the icon used for the More menu option (displayed when there are more than 6 menu options)? With the stock vanilla Android UI it appears as a disclosure-type arrow and on HTC Sense UI it's an ellipsis icon. Curious if these are fixed icons only defined in the Android resources or if there is a way to programmatically set them?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to hide my application icon from main menu at the run time. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a screen (in portrait mode) that shows 4 images (same size, intended to scale down to fit screen), taking up the entire screen, breaking up the screen into quadrants (a tall, 2x2 grid). This will act as a main menu type of activity and each image should be clickable, in order to take the user to a different activity.
I have tried using a GridView inside a LinerLayout (using a lot from Google's GridView tutorial) but cannot get the images to all scale properly to fill the entire screen. I get extra margins around the images and/or scrolling of the entire screen. I have also tried using a TableLayout, placing 2 images in each of the 2 rows. Visually, that worked perfectly. Unfortunately when using that, I cannot seem to reference the ImageView items in the TableLayout in my activity code (findViewById always returns null)..................
In Android 1.6 and higher, this menu XML inflates and runs fine. But when run in 1.5 I get an error about a resource not found. I find that when I remove the @drawable/menu_preferences from the XML in 1.5 it works fine. Is there a 1.5 work around I can do to get the image to work? EDIT: The image is in the drawable-mdpi folder........

I was playing with contacts just now, and I saw the upside down icon again. Then I was curious, went to see other contacts, and I noticed the Android icon facing right, then facing left in other instances. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the Android icon will change positions, but it is there.
