I have tried many things but not getting how to do conferencing in android. i can receive incoming call and make another outgoing call...but not able to combine those calls as "menu option merge do"...if i can take object reference of phone or call class(internal class of android) i can use conference method available theres.

Will the new evo 4g be able to call merge like the iphone? My buddy has an iphone ande is able to add calls to his line, merge others, 4way then leave us on that line while he makes another call or answer another.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from an Samsung Instinct to an HTC Hero. I am currently on my second phone. The first one had a major OS glitch. As the service tech stated it was possessed. I am into my new replacement for about 2 weeks now. Currently, I am having horrible luck with the phone. The keyboard lags, the phone auto dials random numbers while scrolling the phone book and today while talking to my wife it made a conference call to my wife. Also the weather feature on the clock won't update the location unless I manually refresh it. These are just a few of the things I have noticed. I currently am running advanced app killer to save on battery life and the phone is up to date on the software. My brother has an HTC Touch through T-Mobile and it rocks and I have other friends with android phones and they don't experience the same issues.

When i try to call a number it doesnt even ring or anything. when someone tries to call me the phone doesnt ring either. What did i do wrong?. Everything else is working fine. I know i did the update yesterday and downloaded some apps. Should i return the phone for a new one.

The Eris on the other hand, I have none, it flips from no bars to X all day long. I can not receive calls nor can I make a call. Has anyone had problems with theirs? Or what might I be able to do ?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
Is there anyway to make VoIP calls or Skype Out calls on the EVO? I am switching from the iPhone 3GS and am going out of the country on vacation in a month and I got used to making Skype Out calls over WiFi when out of the country.

Every phone I've had in the past (Nokia, Sony, etc...) has always allowed me to hide my number so that the call display on the receiver's phone shows my call as 'private'. This is useful for when you don't want certain people to have your number when you call. Is there a way to do this on the Galaxy S? I couldn't seem to find any setting how.

Is it possible to make a call from an activity and make sure the activity doesn't keep running while the call is in session? And, once the user is done with the call (by pressing the hangup button or whatever), the call log screen wouldn't get shown and the user would be directed to a new activity within the application. I know there's ways to detect calls and call hangups through services, but, I'm not sure if it's possible to make an activity from an app pop up as soon as a call is over.

She has an Incredible and I have an Eris (both on Verizon). It looks like we can't use Skype because it requires Verizon network coverage to work. It looks like Gizmo5 with Google Voice may have been an option at one time, but Google shut that down by acquiring Gizmo5. When I go to GV settings the only options it has are never use GV, ask every time I place an international call, or use GV for international calls only. Never a mention of using GV for domestic calls. Anyone know why? Currently using Droid with 2.0.1.

I have a unlocked Samsung Vibrant and plan on purchasing a SIM card from Orange Wireless for local calls on the Island, unless they sell SIM cards with international credits already on them. I just want to know what would be the cheapest route for me to make calls back home. So far it looks like using the NIM BUZZ app and making the calls VOIP will be the cheapest way.

However the Blackberry had one feature that I found very helpful which the Epic either doesn't have or I just haven't figured out how to do it and it is this: When using the Blackberry I would put info into the Calendar which included a phone # and then when going to it after saving it, it would highlight the phone # by default and all I had to do was push the phone symbol to make a call. Thus far w/ the Epic, I need to write down the phone # on a piece of paper and dial it. Any advice?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have nimbuzz on my milestone 2.1. I am trying to make VOIP calls on my skype account through nibuzz. When using wifi it works great. When using 3g I have a weird prob.
I can receive calls fine but I when I call someone I can't hear the person answering and he/she can't hear me. It won't work even with echo sound test. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen. I tried uninstalling and re installing and all that so.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time I a call is dialing or is hung up, random pictures of the android character pop up, like him playing baseball, eating a hot dog, sitting at a desk, playing guitar in the park... etc. Does anyone know what caused this to start? what program maybe? and a way to turn it off? I think it started right after I rooted my droid, it kind of acts like a screen saver type thing. I can make a call, but then if I try to make another, the phone will just go black. The other person says they can hear me, but I hear nothing. Is there a fix other than shutting off the phone after every call?
