View 11 Repliesany opinion Weather Bug versus Weather Channel...most concerned about stability of Droid. are they both heavy in adware? do they both run constantly in background...affect sleeping of device?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to have the free version of Weather Bug downloaded but recently decided to give the Weather Channel app a try since it has animated radar. Maybe it's just my imagination but ever since I started using the Weather Channel app it seems like my battery doesn't last as long. Does anyone know if it uses more battery juice than Weather Bug? I was going to download Weather Bug again to compare the two but I can't seem to find the free version any more.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe HTC Weather App give me a current temp of 84. Weather Channel App says 90. Where the heck is the HTC App getting it's data? Any way to link to HTC weather (and time) app to weather channel? That's a big difference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow in the world does one get rid of the temperature display/notification in the above bar once The Weather Channel app is opened? There doesn't seem to be any app-specific settings here.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to stop the Weather Chanel from broadcasting alerts. In San Francisco, wind and rain, constitute alerts. So this week there's a new alert every hour or two. I know it's raining and I know it's windy. It seems to be draining the battery.I've looked in the menu but I can't figure out how to stop the alerts from waking up my phone all the time. Any suggestions other than uninstalling?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the past couple days, it seems like my Weather Channel app hasn't been working properly. When I move to the home screen that has the widget, it will be displaying the wrong temperature and picture (i.e. it might be showing "partly sunny" when it's night time). It just shows the temperature for the last time I opened the app.So, I click on the widget to open the app, and it brings me to one of the screens and it just says "N/A", while a green circle rotates in the upper-right corner. After a few seconds, it finally updates and shows me the current temperature/forecast (whichever screen I was in last).I've never had these problems before, up until the past few days. Usually I would just move over to my other home screen, look at the temp, and move back. It would always be [somewhat] updated by itself (usually every 30-60 minutes it seemed). Now it doesn't update until I actually open the app.Any ideas or suggestions? Or is anyone else having this problem? I am using the Droid Eris. I restarted the phone yesterday, still doing the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like the Weather Channel App, but the alerts are driving me crazy.Maybe I just live in a volatile area, but sheesh it seems like the app is constantly alerting me to heavy rain, then high winds, then this, then that. I don't need any of that!(I have a window.)Is there any way to turn these alerts OFF?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's possible to always display the temp in the Android ribbon/window pane with the Weather Channel app. Long press on the City of your choice and then choose "Set as home." This will add the current temp at the top of your display. If you slide the ribbon open you will see a graphic with current conditions. Note: the display vanishes with Clear Notifications but returns the next time the app is run.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs anybody able to see their local radar within The Weather Channel app? The rest of the app/widget seems to work fine, but when I go to the radar map it never seems to load the radar, and nothing ever shows up. It does load the map but there is never any rain or anything. Yes, there is rain in the area when I am doing this (other radar apps work fine), and I've checked the settings to verify that I have it set to Radar. There is a spinner in the upper right corner beneath the clock that never stops spinning, so maybe it's just not loading?I know there are other radar apps and that Weatherbug is highly recommended, but I really like the Weather Channel radar and would really like to at least have the option to look at that one in addition to others. My husband's Incredible is having the same problem, as was the demo phone at Verizon store when we first went to look at it. I've been Googling for a couple hours now and can't seem to find anything so figured I'd check here.

I dont have the weather channel widgit or just the icon on any of my home pages and i dont have any location for it. Why is it still taking up so much battery? Also is there a way to change the update time with it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have an issue with the weather channel app? Occasionally I'll notice that the temp is way off on my home city. When I tap the widget to view my home city in the app there is no weather data - just a big N/A at the top of the screen. It will not update again until I reboot the phone. My other cities are always still updating. Only my home city is fried. This happens about once a day- anything I can clear out in the phone that might help? Uninstall and reinstall the weather channel app?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm living in Austin, TX. New to Droid ownership. Just bought an ERIS. My favorite standard feature was the large, Weather Channel animations. However, the rest of the phone was faulty and I had to have it replaced with a "refurbished" phone. Now the large weather animations have disappeared. Puny, smaller animations remain.Does this have something to do with Google's preferences. Can I get the more robust animations back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe media player shuts off after i unlock the screen. What is causing this? It will play, then lock itself after a minute or so, keep playing, and when I unlock it, it shuts off. Also annoying is that it shuffles forward AND reverse. When I put the weather channel widget on my home screen It never updates itself even though I Juice defender that should allow it to refresh periodically.I'll add one more - the last few apps I downlaoded, i had to cancel 3-4 times, then retry before they are started to download.
View 3 Replies View RelatedXiiaLive has blocked all AAC+ streams from working on android 2.2 until the whole AAC+ debacle is resolved. I did adrynalyne's new audio fix so I am willing to bet that XiiaLive will now work with the AAC+ streams if they weren't blocked altogether. So can I somehow trick XiiaLive into thinking i am running 2.1 and get my AAC+ streams back?

Sometime yesterday Discovery Channel announced the availability of their application for Android. Has anyone been able to find it? Following the link provided in their official twitter feed led me to a 404, and Marketplace searches yield nothing for me. I'm on Droid Eris.

I've created a bitmap that I'm overlaying over another bitmap. I'd like to alter the transparency of sections of the overlaid bitmap, revealing the bitmap beneath. I can't find a way to write only to the alpha channel of the overlaid bitmap.
For example, I have a bitmap filled with red pixels, and an alpha that is 255, opaque. A solid red bitmap. How do I draw a circle on this map that would lower the alpha values toward 0, transparent?
I tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.

Weather Face decorates your phone screen with different weather animations, including rain, snow, lightning, cloud, and sunshine. For instance, clouds float on your screen when it is cloudy outside. I have a demo video on Youtube :

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I got my phone wet and there are some water spots inside the screen. I quickly pulled the battery out and dried the phone with a towel+shaking the hell out of it. I then got a container and poured white rice into it and threw my phone and submerged it in the rice. A day had passed and I opened the lid and took out my phone to see how it was doing. Well the water spots are still there but I can see that it's drying up, that's the good news. The bad news is that the rice went inside the small holes where the battery cover locks into the phone. Now every time I shake it, I hear the rice rattling inside my phone. Just a heads up if you ever do the rice drying trick. Either leave the battery cover on or cover up the holes with tape or something.
