Aug 11, 2010I tried downloading the swype beta apk.5612 and it doesn't work. Says the beta period is over. Anyone have a link to a file that works?

HTC Droid Eris :: Swype Beta Won't Work With 2.1 V2
Apr 2, 2010I recently complained about keyboard lag on the latest leaked version of 2.1. I remember loving the Swype beta on 1.5 and decided to go ahead and re-download the installer. Everything installed nicely and i switched my input method to Swype. To my dismay, after swyping my first word, Swype displayed a pop up saying that "this swype package you installed is not configured for this device" and then refused to register any of my swyped words. This Eris keyboard business is now REALLY starting to piss me off. Before I break something, does anyone know how to get Swype Beta to work on this new leak? I, and my many fragile possessions, would be eternally grateful.

Sep 2, 2010So I used to use Swype on xtrROM 3.0.3 and it worked fine. After switching to 4.0.6.1, the swiping action doesn't produce any text but tapping the letters does. I've been all over the Swype forum and see a lot of complaints that Swype has the same problem on Froyo. Any ideas? At least I still was able to find SahpeWriter but it isn't as smooth as Swype was.

Dec 5, 2010Is anyone experiencing some issues with the X8,I have a few problems with the X8 which I list below.
1. Downloading MMS settings does not work.
2. Some operator messages cannot be replied to.
3. The Music player does not have Playlist!!! This is such a let down. I don't want to be scrolling all the time to play another song.
4. When the phone syncs with address book from Google it deleted the contacts!
5. In Call volume is low, and the slider displayed shows there is some more volume left but it wont move anymore.
6. Can the SW prevent crucial things from getting uninstalled. I mean there are some system apps that could be uninstalled thay may cause the phone to brick out.
7. No Alert Profile are available, either silent or audible. Nothing like discreet or extra loud.
8. The Keypad slows down so significantly when the message thread is a bit long. It gets annoying to type. Also Some words need to be unlearnt.
Am I missing something as to how the phone shold be configured or what?Other than that, the phone is awesome, great value for money. Although I wouldn't mind paying for a much higher spec version in the same form factor. I love my X8 more than this X10 or X10miniPro.

Jun 16, 2010I downloaded the beta swype for my G1 (yes i know time for a new phone thats coming soon) and i got it to come up when im searching the internet or google but it wont type anything i tried swyping a bunch of different words and all i got was the beep saying it didnt register. will it not work on my G1? its still stock rom.

Sep 9, 2010Swype worked fine for me before I received the 2.2 update on my Droid Inc last week, but now it doesn't. I've tried the following, as recommended in many other posts:
1) uninstall and reinstall swype
2) switch text input method to default keyboard and then back to swype
3) hard re-set phone, and none works in restoring swype. Oddly, in the "settings/language and keyboard" menu, swype is checked as enabled, but in actuality it isn't.

May 2, 2010I have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
Android :: Swype Beta - Keyboard Start Flashing On Input
Nov 24, 2010I am on a non rooted droid incredible. I have the newest version of the swype beta, and I noticed everytime I reboot my phone and I try to write something in swype the keyboard will just flash or something and it wont put in what I tried to write, and it will do this until I change my default input method back to the HTC keyboard and back to swype.

Sep 19, 2010This is for those of you that were using the one build of the Swype Beta that actually worked for the Ally (up until last week, when it expired).There is a new beta floating around (version 2.4.44.10912.t100), however, when installed on the Ally, it instantly locks you out with a message that this version wasn't made for your phone.I read somewhere that in the past, you could fix this by modifying the Swype apk to contain an older "license.dat" file (such as the one from the open beta). With this new version however, Swype will FC instantly if it was installed from a resigned apk.Out of curiosity, I extracted the files from within "classes.dex" and started poking around. In one of the files, I found this line.

Jul 20, 2010I just got a Sprint Hero and I'm coming from Palm phones that always had physical keyboards. At this point in time--I've had it for about a week--it's frustrating beyond words to peck away on the virtual keyboard, slow as molasses, with about as much accuracy as a two year old trying to spell.
I know Swype would help immensely. Is there any way to get it even though the beta is closed? Would begging and bribing the makers of swype help? I really want a virtual keyboard for a number of reasons, but the stock keyboard on the Hero is terrible.

Jun 8, 2010I just got the email saying that there was an update for the swype beta. In order to update you have to uninstall the installer and the keyboard. I am on bhmans take 5 so i removed it from system/app and wiped the data then attempted to install it and it wont even open it just force closes constantly.
