The use case that I have to emulate is to inject random keypresses. I have observed it that it is possible using adb shell command "input". Can someone point me to the source code in the android build tree, so that I can accordingly implement the same in our test app.

I am currently working on a java program that inserts excel data into android database(sqlite). when i place the TestDB(sqlilte db) into c:drive it works.
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlite:C:TestDB");
But it won't work on android(emulator) database. The database have been created in android. Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlite://127.0.0.1:5554:/data/data/com.app.das/databases/TestDB");
i am guessing that the tcp is wrong. how do i go about fixing it?

I have an app which uses a large amount of data which has been compiled outside the app (on my main PC). The app is for my personal use so there are no complications with having to distribute data updates to other users. However, I am currently following a very convoluted and time-consuming procedure each time I want to update the data, and I wonder if anyone can suggest any ways to streamline it.
The procedure I follow whenever I want to add new data is as follows:
I enter the new data into a csv file which I maintain as the source of the relevant table in the database. I use SQLite Database Browser to import the data into an existing SQLite database. (This program does not seem to have the ability to append imported data into an existing table, so whenever a table needs updating I have to delete the existing table, then import data from the csv file into a new table, then manually edit the data types for all the fields in the table.)
I drag the icon for the database file onto the 'assets' folder of my project in Eclipse. I export the project from Eclipse as an apk file. I copy the apk file to my phone (using Astro File Manager) I uninstall the old version of the app and install the new apk.
when the app is run, code based on the example set out here copies the data from the 'assets' folder into the app's data folder; this means that each byte of data takes up two bytes in the phone's internal memory; at present this is not a problem, but could be as the volume of data grows; I wonder if there is a more memory-efficient method?

I'm using this kind of code for my TCP/IP connection:
sock = new Socket(host, port);
sock.setKeepAlive(true);
din = new DataInputStream(sock.getInputStream());
dout = new DataOutputStream(sock.getOutputStream());
Then, in separate thread I'm checking din.available() bytes to see if there are some incoming packets to read. The problem is, that if a packet bigger than 2048 bytes arrives, the din.available() returns 2048 anyway. Just like there was a 2048 internal buffer. I can't read those 2048 bytes when I know it's not the full packet my application is waiting for. If I don't read it however - it'll all stuck at 2048 bytes and never receive more. Can I enlarge the buffer size of DataInputStream somehow? Socket receive buffer is 16384 as returned by sock.getReceiveBufferSize() so it's not the socket limiting me to 2048 bytes. If there is no way to increase the DataInputStream buffer size - I guess the only way is to declare my own buffer and read everything from DataInputStream to that buffer?

I have certain needs that I am having trouble making an app for. I was hoping to be able to create a sqlite database that I can manually input data from my computer and search the data on my droid. I wanted to set up tags or full data search within each sqlite database object so and pull up a listing of best matches for the given search term.
The use for it is that I work on an Air Force Base and my job is very broad. I wanted to custom build an app that I could list all of the information pertaining to my job and be able to search it as I work to find solutions to problems way quicker than we are doing it now.
Is there any such app. I've been trying to create my own and it looks like it would be a mix between notepad and searchable dictionary but not quite.

I am having a weird issue. I have an ArrayAdapter which I am sorting. This displays properly on my screen, however when I check the actual data source, the contents have not been sorted. How can I ensure that sorting my ListAdapter will also sort my data source?
CODE:....
This shows that my data source hasn't been updated, even though my ListAdapter presents my ListView in the correctly sorted order.
For example:
If my data source is [10,9,1,20] after sorting my ListView will show [1,9,10,20] but the data source will still be [10,9,1,20]

I would like to show a custom input field (specifically, one containing only 9-0 and two extra buttons containing decimal separator (, or .) and a delete button). I could create a custom IME, but (as far as I know) that would have to be set by the user as the system-wide input method. Is there a way to implement an input method and bind it to a specific input field?

I want to play the flv files in Android. So what I thought is to convert the flv file to mp4 or 3gp(for which there is a decoder in Android). OpenCore can be used to convert. I have looked into opencore code, there is a class in opencore "/android/external/opencore/fileformats/mp4/composer" to create the mp4 file. It has apis like AddTrack AddSampleToTrack. I should give the input as frames, but in Flv I will get the Sorenson Video and Mp3 audio frame(after doing some trivial string operations to remove the headers). Can I use these directly as input to above apis or is there any good way to convert flv to mp4? And also I have looked into "/android/external/opencore/nodes/pvmp4ffcomposernode" but it reads from ports not able to know how to send input to this class.

We can convert from Intent to URI and from URI to Intent. From Intent to URI string Intent intent1 = new Intent ();
String uriString = intent1.toURI ();
From URI string to Intent Uri uri = Uri.parse (uriString);
Intent intent2 = new Intent ();
intent2.setData (uri)
After conversion, intent1 and inten2 should be same. for example:
Intent intent1 = new Intent ();
intent1.addCategory (Intent.CATEGORY_HOME);
intent1.addCategory (Intent.CATEGORY_LAUNCHER);
Log.v ("", "Intent1 = " + intent1);
if (intent1.hasCategory (Intent.CATEGORY_HOME))
Log.v ("Intent1", "#1 hasCategory TRUE");
else Log.v ("Intent1", "#1 hasCategory FALSE");
String str = intent1.toURI ();
Uri uri = Uri.parse (str);
Intent intent2 = new Intent ();
intent2.setData (uri);
Log.v ("", "Intent2 = " + intent2);
if (intent2.hasCategory (Intent.CATEGORY_HOME))
Log.v ("Intent2", "#2 hasCategory TRUE");
else Log.v ("Intent2", "#2 hasCategory FALSE");
result Intent1 = { categories=android.intent.category.HOME,android.intent.category.LAUNCHER} } #1 hasCategory TRUE
Intent2 {data=#Intent;
category=android.intent.category.HOME;
category=android.intent.category.LAUNCHER;
end } #2 hasCategory FALSE
In this sample code, Intent2 is a conversion result from Intent1. If you run this sample code, Intent1 result and Intent2 result are different. Because Intent1 and Intent2 have a same Intent.CATEGORY_HOEM, the result should be Intent1 and Intent2 is TRUE (intent.hasCategory). I think this is bug. And the hint is Intent1 and Intent2 's toString result is different.
Intent1 = {categories=android.intent.category.HOME,android.intent.category.LAUNCHER}
Intent2 = { data=#Intent;category=android.intent.category.HOME
category= android.intent.category.LAUNCHER;end }
I don't know how to convert Intent to URI(String) and convert URI (String) to Intent. I want to save Intent to DB and read Intent from DB.
