View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have enjoyed being able to check all my e-mail accounts in one place, so despite having the Yahoo! Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point. This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? I really want to continue to be able to check my Yahoo! mail on my phone without having to use the Yahoo! app.

I just downloaded the yahoo mail app from the market and like it so much better than the default HTC Mail App. However, I'm getting double notifications. I remember getting this with handcent and default text program but easily shut that off. Can't seem to figure it out with mail. Any ideas how to disable the default mail notifications without deleting the account in the default mail app?

View 29 Replies View RelatedIn the My Accounts app on the Droid X, I added a Yahoo! Mail email account to show someone as an example how easily it was to add a Yahoo! Mail account. Afterwards, I went to Remove account, but was met repeatedly with "Error Removing Account: An error has occurred. Please try again." I want to get rid of this Yahoo! Just thought I would share a little information I have found with my fellow Droid owners. This guide will allow you to (freely) forward your Yahoo! email to a newly created (or old) Gmail Account for easier integration with your Droid (or other Android Devices) without paying the $20 a month Yahoo! requires for premium service. First create your Gmail account if you do not already have one.
Also I am coming from the "New Yahoo"
Step 1: Sign into Yahoo Mail
Step 2: Click options on the upper right hand corner of your screen. Select to switch to Yahoo Mail Classic
Step 3: In the top left hand corner is your name. Highlight it and select "Account Info". It will ask you to put your password in again.
Step 4: Under Account Setting click "Set language, site, time-zone."
Step:5 Click New Setting and change it to Yahoo! Asia. Also accept the new Terms of Agreement.
You should now see a Yahoo! Asia logo on your homescreen.
We can now enable POP access and Email Forwarding without the $20 a normal member would pay.
Step 6: Click options again in the top right hand corner. Then Mail Options.
Step 7: On the left of the screen select POP and Forwarding. Then Set up or edit Pop and Forwarding.
Step 8: Click the bubble next to forwarding and enter in your new gmail account. Click Save.
Step 9: Send Verification
Step 10: Go to your gmail and grab the confirmation code and go back to the Yahoo! and enter. Enter password again.
I'm getting my yahoo mail on my droid but is their a way to send outgoing yahoo mail. I'm only seeing the inbox...
