View 2 RepliesI know it is possible to develop a full flex application using AIR for android but what I need is to embed a flex component into an already existing classic Java android application.
I found some flash players in java but they all either require a JFrame or include of specific windows dlls.
Is it even possible ? I found no info on the net about this
I have seen the BusinessCard example provide in Android examples.
I am using ContactAccessor abstract class to seperate out the SDK versions.
My code is running fine for 2.0 onwards, but when I am trying to build the code in Adnroid 1.6 I am getting the following errors:
Build.VERSION_CODES.ECLAIR is not resolved.
Getting errors in the whole class in which I have used Contacts APIs from 2.0 (say in class ContactAccessorSdk5.java).
How to resolve these issues?
I want to run my App on both the versions.
Are there any Android APIs that allow the application to retrieve the GSM Timing Advance?

Is this possible using the standard android apis?
I'm a newbie developer in Android.
I want to make an app like SetCPU that can manipulate cpu frequency in Android.
But I couldn't find some related APIs or materials.
I want to know following two things sincerely.
1) Are there APIs to change cpu frequency in Android?
2) If not, are there some APIs in linux?
Does Android have APIs for HTTP progressive download for media files?

I'm a little bit confused about supporting SPP by Android API(from level 5). As I understand it wasn't supported in versions before API level 5 what we can read in discussion below.(First Nick's post) http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/threa. But it was in October and after that we have APi from 5 to 7 now released. And my question is do all these API's support SPP? As I read in other discussions some phones makes more difficulties than others. Which mobile phone you can recommend?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I find the users available Google Calendars and then create an event in one of those calendars?
Direct access to the Calendar on the handset is for some unknown bizarre reason UNSUPPORTED and not documented and untestable unless you have EVERY single device and ROM. Therefore blind development, cr4p for users and cr4p when you have to blame Google.
Aren't we developing apps to help users with their day-to-day things? Accessing and creating events in a calendar ON THE HANDSET would sem like a logical day-to-day thing to do?
Anyway so I turned to the GDATA API. However the documentation bears no resemblance to anything available for the android SDK. The documented classes stated to be available to be used for Calendar access are not available in the downloadable libraries!?!?!? http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/data/2.0/developers_guide_java.html
So my question, how do I find the users available Google Calendars and then create an event in one of those calendars from an Android app?
Any links posted which say 'see here' please make sure the code is valid for android! :)
(code examples would be great - oh and preferably using the users credentials on the handset to login to the Calendar).
When we tried to display an animated gif image using image view, nothing was displayed on the screen. So, we are suspecting whether image view is not supporting animated gif.
If we place an animated gif file in gallery then thumbnail is not displayed.
Is there a complete list, or there is no guarantee the list won't change with every release?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI found out that on Android contacts, at least HTC Sense stores Facebook ID with the following mimetype: vnd.android.cursor.item/vnd.facebook.profile this differs from their mimetype format such as com.htc.socialnetwork.facebook/smallavatar
I am wondering where do I find a list of officially supported mimetypes for Android?
Installing JB on my rooted pantech flex manually. I can't recieve OTA updates so this would be the only way for me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an Android app in which I would like to use multi-touch. However, I do not want to completely leave out those still running a 1.x OS phone. How do you program the app so that you can use the 2.x multi-touch APIs (or any other higher level API for that matter) and still allow it to gracefully degrade on 1.x systems. If you create a project in Eclipse for 1.x can you even still access the 2.x APIs?
Basically I want it to show up in the marketplace and work on all 1.6 and higher phones and just allow access to the higher level functionality if available.
Also, if anyone can point me to any data on the number of 1.x devices vs. 2.x devices in use.
I purchased a 32gb micro SD for my pantech flex and I started adding music to it and files seem to keep getting corrupt after awhile is there a glitch with the flex or do I have to do it a certain way I tried putting it in my pc first to add files and then I tried USB cable but I only used MTP so far.. What I should do I also transferred them with es explorer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Pantech Flex P8010. I never thought it would be updated to jb. So I rooted it. Removed all bloated applications from it. Changed the recovery to CWM. I haven't taken any back up before the bloat removal. All I have is the cwm backup of the debloated version.
Now Pantech have released the jb ota. Is there any way to update the phone to jb with the root privilege? Is there any way to return to complete stock? Will the recovery and boot loader image available in the forums be useful?
I have Pantech Flex P8010. I was rooted on ICS 4.0.4 and then I installed Jelly Bean Update by restoring rooted backup of Jelly Bean 4.1.2 uploaded by Zapper_Master.
After Jelly Bean I got smooth working phone. But, as other I had same issue of Wifi not working and automatic 2x Reboots after atleast gap of 6-7 hours. (I was knowing it before I installed update as others who updated by restoring zip also faced same issue. But, It was ok for me as I like Jelly Bean the most.)
But, there was way to enable native wifi tethering on this lovely phone on ICS. [URL] ......
And I followed same steps (After Installing SQLite Editor, I just backed up database & changed value from settings.db secure table on actual database.)
Line 1. softap_free_supported
Line 2. softap_entitlement_interval
Change Line 1′s value to 1 in the SQL editor. Change Line 2′s value to 0 in the SQL editor save and close or just close depending on the editor.
SUPPER IMPORTANT if the file permissions on settings.db are not rw-rw-rw make them so in your file explorer.
There was a risk of bricking phone as there is no recovery available for Jelly Bean.
I just wanted to let others know that above method also works on Jelly Bean. But, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I will not be responsible if anything goes wrong & you brick your lovely flex.
I have recently started working on an app which has both Java and native components. I am trying to generate trace information for both components using Debug.startMethodTracing("myapp") and Debug.startNativeTracing() alternately.
However, both are behaving unexpectedly.
When I use Debug.startMethodTracing("myapp"), I can see a file /sdcard/myapp.trace being created but it is always empty no matter how long I run my app. When I use Debug.startNativeTracing() and start the emulator with the -trace <tracename> switch, I see a message saying "Trace started", but when I try to run my app, the
emulator crashes.
It seems a little ahead of tomorrows Google event. But I'm already getting many complaints that my app fails completely under Android 2.2.So that scares me a lot!Anyone know when the API might be released? Tomorrow perhaps?
