In searching the web I came across http://groupaware.mobi/iphone which as a sample iphone navigation site. Is there someplace I can find a similar thing for android? i.e sample web pages with css, sample templates, navigation etc. If not, what suggestions would you have to offer to someone lookin to build a web page for android?

I have an ally and i just had to get a new one because my old one was re-booting. anyway, I had the google navigation beta shortcut on my home page on my last phone and i cant find it now. its the blue arrow. i have re-booted to see if it shows up, nothing. i have searched the market for "google maps" and cant find it. can i do a manual update?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I've had my HTC Hero, the internet connection has been really flaky. That is, about half the time it works ok, but with a slow start, and the other half it doesn't work at all, and comes up with either a "cannot find page" in the browser, or "a network error has occurred" in Market or other apps.
I bought into the Hero thing because I wanted a mobile internet device and my iPhone wasn't cutting it with the lack of Flash. But at least my iPhone always worked!
The problem I'm having is this:
No matter whether I'm on wifi or not, browsing for a webpage in any of the available browsers (standard, steel, dolphin), has a delay of about 5 seconds, and then either starts loading the page, or comes up with some kind of "page not found" error. This happens with all websites, including the home page of google, which isn't exactly big or unreliable, except on my Hero.
Also, any app that uses an internet connection, such as Market, more often than not comes up with "a network error has occurred". Clicking "retry" rarely works.
Now if it was just through wifi, I would think it might be the setup of the routers that I've tried it on, allthough I've tried it on 3 completely different types of router, all with same symptoms.
I've also done much testing with wifi switched off, and still the same issues.
I could understand it if it just didn't work ever under either wifi or other, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I have done my wifi tests while sitting right next to the routers, with maximum signal reception being indicated.
Ok, so it tells me that "a network error has occurred". Is there some way of finding out exactly what the error was? Was it a timeout, or a DNS error, or what?

View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery app I make starts out with a number of common base classes, interfaces, utility classes and a basic package structure that has been working for me. Is there a way for me to set up a project template in Eclipse that will give me all of the basic Android project stuff PLUS a bunch of custom packages, classes and interfaces? I guess I could just put all of this stuff into one or more libraries as opposed to creating a whole project template, so if you have a preferred approach or information/links/etc on how to do any of the above, please share (I'm relatively inexperienced with Eclipse, so the more detail the better).

Firefox pulls 100 records in 250 ms, drops it in to a template, links the data to the markup, and we sit back and drink margaritas.
Boss walks in and says he wants an iPhone app. I bet we need an Android app too.
What frameworks could we use to easily jump from our Microsoft comfort zone in to the wide, wide world of the Apple iPhone / iPad, along with a follow-up Android baby.
I imagine we could use our JSON controller methods to communicate. Is there some type of a client side JavaScript consuming app framework we could get a reasonable Website like interface re-working? They didn't like the idea of simply running the whole thing in Safari, which works pretty well.
Needs:
Send and receive JSON objects
Some type of template engine so we can pair up objects to markup, or at least some way to separate design from programming
Something similar to JQuery would be nice
A good editor with auto-complete and highlighting, something that compares to VS2010
It took us two years to incorporate design patterns, Agile methods, and Domain Driven concepts using MVC and Javascript. We may have two or three months to re-produce the same functions.
My nexus one phone crashed a week ago, I reseted the factory settings, and since then I can't find the power control system(wifi, gps, Bluetooth and screen brightness) widget which I had on my home page when I first bought the phone.

I get the following error as the download never goes through signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive.
Opening the menu icon template file from the Android Icon Templates Pack just shows two icon shapes in Photoshop CS2 on my PC, but there should be many more. I assume the file is corrupted or I still don't have the specifically needed version of Photoshop. Can anyone please provide a complete and compatible version of the Menu_Icons_master.psd? It would be sufficient to have all the basic Android menu icon shapes as .pdf files. From the .psd I can still read the gradients styles and so on. A few more details what I have tried so far.

Extracting the zip, the .psd file Menu_Icons_master.psd can be found in the menu folder. Opening it in my Photoshop CS2 first brought an error message that DroidSans font could not be found - I solved this issue by installing the DroidSans font from:

Restarting Photoshop and opening the file now brings no error message, but only the icon shapes for a house and a star are shown, missing all other menu icon shapes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

I have this simple app that contains a WebView object. My code basically tells my WebView object to load some pages every minute or so. The problem is, after the application runs for about 9-10 sites, every time I ask the WebView object to load a new URL I get a "Web page not available" error. Why is this happening?

I am trying to create a very simple help page in my app. The layout xml for the page contains only a textview that displays the help info. In the Eclipse layout view, the layout looks perfect... however, when i try to load it in the emulator (via an OptionsMenu) it comes up as a blank black screen.

Just downloaded ADW and at the bottom of my home page I had 3 little icons. One was for the dialler, one was to open the app drawer and the 3rd was (I think) to dial the last number. Well I tried to see if i could change the "dial last number" (Which dialled a number OTHER than the last number dialled btw :-p) and somehow I deleted the thing.... Is there anyway I can get it back? Have tried playing around in settings and cant see it... And as fate would have it, I REALLY liked that little extra
