View 4 RepliesSo I didn't set up my voicemail yet, but the phone has been doing it for me, I guess. My previous voice mails and my 9 year old OGA have all been deleted. When I use the "Visual" voice mail, which btw, is hardly visual, it's more like photo voice mail. No visual text to read. The only two options I have are speaker or earpiece. Bluetooth does not work! When holding it to my ear to listen in private, the phones sensors never pick up the fact that the phone is near my face, and the screen stays active. Touch your face with it, and who knows what function you activate. And the audio quality is bad. You know who it is, but the sampling rate, or codec they use is low quality and you get a tinny buzzing sound constantly while the vm is being played back. Am I using this wrong, or is this just an Epic Fail on the part of the software?

Also, while I'm at it. Is there a way to set up signatures in the default mail app?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI got the Droid yesterday, and I'm trying to use Google Voice *just* for voicemail. However, it seems like I never get notifications about new voicemail, unless the app is open. Also, recorded voicemail is very soft when it's played back, almost too soft to hear.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIn my notification bar at the top of my screen it says i have 1 voicemail. This notification also pops up when i turn my phone back on from being locked. However, when I check my voicemail, I do not have a new message or any saved messages either. Whats going on and how do I get rid of it?

I have 2 other email accounts that no matter what I do I can not get them to work. One is my works email which is handled by a company called network solutions. I can get the incoming server setup fine but I can not get the outgoing to work. The other is my school email which is some sort of msn email account variation (username@email.itt-tech.edu which i log into through msn.com). I cant get anything to work for this accuont.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully setup a POP account through the Setup Screen...in fact when I go back through Setup, I still see the account. The problem is I can't DO anything with it in setup (including deleting it to start over) and it doesn't show up in my Apps window with an icon! I see it on the setup screen labeled "Setup Accounts" but no matter if I tap it or hold it or swipe it or try to hit the menu key, it just sits there. There is a green button with the checkmark in it. I guess what I would think i ought to be able to do is to assign it an icon (or even get a generic one) and find the account listed on my app screen...I'm willing to reset it, but I can't even delete it to start!
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any app that instead of the voicemail going to the network it gets stored on my phone? It end ups costing me quite alot (0.102 a minute and theres a minimum charge, so even if i have a 30 second call it'll still charge me 10.2p). So if there was an app that saved me a couple of quid a month, that would be amazing. i've got a HTC Desire on T-Mobile (uk)

How to launch the dialer with the voicemail number (or otherwise lookup the voicemail number)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got G-Voice and at this point, all I want to do is use it for visual voicemail. During setup, it asked me if I wanted to use my carrier's service or Google's service. I chose Google at which point I had to call a provided number that seems to initiate forwarding?
Anyway, just wondering what would happen if I choose Verizon's service instead of Google? Do you still get visual voicemail?
I've set up customized voice mails for some of my contacts. The problem is my GV is defaulting to the option that answers "Please enter the number you are trying to reach." Even when my wife enters my real number she doesn't get her customized greeting. Initially when I started GV it would default automatically to her customized voice mail. I'm not sure how to make this go back to the way it was. I hate to have everyone who calls me to re-enter my number in order to reach me.

What is HulloMail?
Hullomail is free voicemail that's yours to keep. Through a simple registration process we take your voicemails and convert them into an mp3 file and drop them into your inbox. Our technology works for any email account and seamlessly syncs with Gmail, MobileMe or any IMAP4 email account. We will soon be syncing with Yahoo, AOL and Hotmail too, so whatever email you use, HulloMail will easily sync with all of your online and mobile communications.
HulloMail Android G1 app available now
Before Christmas we released our Android client app giving you faster and easier access to your voicemail than ever before.
The downloadable app provides a simple optimised view of your voicemails. You can see a list of messages and choose which ones to listen to, without having to your waste time listening to messages you don't want to hear.
In response to user feedback, we've also improved your experience with some additional nifty features. There's now a button to toggle the speakerphone on and off so you can choose to listen to your messages privately to avoid embarrassing moments, or out loud when you're alone. Also, when you receive a new voicemail, you now get both a visual and audio alert - the audio can be customised with your sound of choice.
HulloMail announce Google contact integration
So you can't remember every phone number that drops into your voicemail inbox? Google contacts can, and we've now made HulloMail sync with it easily.
HulloMail can now sync all your Google contact information to integrate fully with your inbox, meaning you can easily see who a message is from by name, email address and even a photo if you've allocated mugshots to your friends.
All you have to when registering for the service is click for Hullomail's synced service and input your Google user name and password. If you're one of our new Android app users, on the G1, and you're registered for the synced service, you don't have to do a thing. Those not using the sync service can get synced in by logging in at Hullomail.com.
Coming soon
New functionality will be added in the coming months including audio name and greeting management where you'll be able to record a personalised voicemail for different people using caller display information.

I was looking for an API to send incoming calls to voicemail. I know this can be done using the Contact app that comes with any Android phones. But is there an API for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe advantages of SIPdroid over symbian built-in SIP support lured me into the android-land, but I'm sort of missing two apps which I got used to on symbian: one to record all my phone calls (tho no symbian app could record SIP calls, only cell-phone calls) and the voicemail machine (where the app would pick up a call after pre-determined amount of time, then play greeting and then would record a caller's message). And I don't want to shell *monthly* fees for either of these, nor can I use GV for my voicemail.

I have it programmed in my contacts (or I did on my old BB) with the pauses and password pre-entered

I can turn google voice off, or change it to 'ask every time', but really don't want to.....
Does the GMail app play Google Voice voicemail messages for you all? Because when I click the "play message" link, it just opens my browser and prompts me to save "voicemail.mp3". What I want to know is... did I mess up my settings somehow, or is this how the GMail app treats Google Voice voicemail messages for everyone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to simulate or create a waiting voicemail message. I know there has a question about this that have been on the mailing-list/group here: http://bit.ly/b6ITDQ
In investigating trying to get a voicemail message simulated w/ the AVD Emulator, I tried just setting the incoming mail to "SEND_TO_VOICEMAIL" - but that does not create a message. There is not an indicator that the call was made until you check your call log (which is the expected behavior, so no complaints there).
I have looking through the Android documentation, tutorials/samples, and reference. I cannot find anything talking about creating or bootstrapping a voicemail message (and I haven't seen anything about handling other instances of a "Message Waiting Indicator").
I've looked around on a couple other message forums, like anddev.org, and haven't seen any examples dealing with voicemail. I have a Safari account and searched in the Android dev books and only find mention of the Intent URI for the Dailer (voicemail:).
If looks like when I'm trying to achieve would be done by creating a Notification and passing it to NotificationManager.notify() as done in this example article:[url]
Would PendingIntent be the Intent that I'm looking for? I'm new to the platform/api, so I'm likely just missing some knowledge on what I'm trying to do is called. I have done a fair bit of looking around, but I've reached a bit where I feel I'm going in circles.
If looks like once I could create/simulate voicemail, then I'd chance need to create a PhoneStateListener with a definition of onMessageWaitingIndicatorChanged() and call TelephonyManager.listen().
If I have missed a place to check or a resource - just point me briefly in that direction.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhat I would find really usefull is a voicemail greeting selector that would allow you to record different greetings for different situations, personal, business etc. Record and then title the message which then becomes selectable from a menu. Ideally linked to a button or shortcut of some kind.
For example if I am out of the office I redirect all calls to my mobile, if I am unavailable my personal greeting is used via my network provider. Not very professional and to change this every time would be impracticle.
