View 4 RepliesGiven the following HTML: <p>This is text and this is an image <img src="http://www.example.com/image.jpg" />.</p> Is it possible to make the image render? When using this snippet: mContentText.setText(Html.fromHtml(text));, I get a cyan box with black borders, leading me to believe that a TextView has some idea of what an img tag is.

I need to send an image file on my sdcard using email in my application. Note that I don't want user to get option to use messaging or other ways to send the file. My current code, as shown below, gives option of both email and messaging whereas I want the user to get only emailing option.
How do I do this?
CODE:..............
Can I send an email without invoking any activity (with Send/SendTo action)? Just compose a mail and send to recipient from my application.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like users to be able to send emails from my app and the client would like the message body to be html-formatted. They look nicer and the message includes a rather ugly url that would be better placed inside an anchor tag.
I've seen some older queries on the web asking how to do this but have not been able to find a definitive answer.
Is it possible to use an Intent.ACTION_SEND (or some other method) to send an email pre-set with an html-formatted message body?

View 16 Replies View RelatedWhen using the Exchange ActiveSync mail, I'm trying to enable the HTC Incredible to view e-mail in HTML format.I've gone to Settings --> Send & Receive... but the "Message Format" option is greyed out and not enabled.I then tried switching the "Mail size limit" from 10KB to "Entire Mail" as one user suggested for the HTC Hero on Sprint - but that didn't seem to work either.I've also seen in places that Exchange 2007 or 2010 is required to get HTML email... we're about to upgrade, but we're currently on Exchange 2003 - so that could be the cause of the issue for whatever reason.Has anyone had any luck with this on the HTC Incredible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched loads of threads on the forum but can't an answer for this! I like having my Hotmail pushed to me and because the HTC client doesn't support Hotmail push I've downloaded and used the stock android email.apk. It works fine (pushes) but the emails are not HTML. There is no option to display as HTML but I've seen it display HTML from other email clients!

View 11 Replies View RelatedAs of Andriod 2.1, does the default email app display HTML email? If so how? Also, does it allow you to create HTML email? If so, how?I am reading mixed messages that seem to be different for each phone (obviously, I have a Samsung Captivate). If any of your responses require that I root or somehow modify the phone outside of the app store, could you please clarify if you are suggesting to do so?

I have heavily edited the original text and instead of the how question I am posting the code that produces the effect I wanted, namely a floating menu on top that stays fixed as I scroll whatever is in the middle with a lower menu at the bottom of the screen. Ain't life sweet - Might even work on the iPhone as well.
Why I posted was like I said in the original question. I'm fiddling with creating the initial lay out for a "mobile" application for the disabled, have tonnes of data, dictionary files, icons for the purpose etc. I want to have the app running as HTML to make it as portable as possible, i.e. make it runnable on Android, Iphone, Maemo... whatever.
I got some hints by looking at the example at http://www.quackit.com/css/codes/css_floating_menu.cfm as well as a lot of trial and error and finally minor edits by a paid freelancer.
Below you can find some crude (to put it mildly) HTML/CSS (cut the CSS part and load a style instead in the HTML's you create for cleaner code) but for now, let's look at the prototype concept.
CODE:...........
You can see the working example on your Android device or in your Android emulator http://globability.org/webapp/aaa.html
Need to get the sound working though - but nearly there :)Links to the different web based version and thoughts behind application can be found on:
The project this application springs from can be found on [url] - Look under prototypes (it is the top one under the heading protypes).
I;ve been trying to create a custom button in android using this tutorial - http://www.gersic.com/blog.php?id=56
It works well but it doesn't say how to change the font size or weighting. Any ideas?
There was another question on here and the only answer was to use html styling but you can't change a font size in html without using css (or the deprecated font tag). There must be a better way of setting the pixel size of the font used on buttons?
I recently switched from a Treo to the Moment. Generally quite pleased, but the Moxier email client doesn't seem to be displaying html links at all.
Exchange mail on the Treo still shows links, so unlike some of the other posts, the problem is not with the corporate exchange server stripping out html.
Is there a setting in Moxier to enable links within email messages?

I found that if i use UrlEncodedFormEntity and send the image data through that. the webservice doesn't receive that. ( at least it will not be able to read that .) In fact if i add some vars to send with the image data ( like name of the file, filesize ) they can be read from the webservice but the image data still doesn't appear if i try to read it serverside.

The way I figured I would do this, is to use the copyPixelsToBuffer() function and then attempt to send this to the servlet through some output stream(similar to how I would do it in a normal stand alone java application). Will this way work? If so, what kind of stream do I use exactly? Should I just use DataOutputStream..
