Android :: App Stuck At Authorizing Purchase - Can't Refund

Jul 16, 2010

I bought Homerun Derby 3D yesterday night (A game I know, but I don't think it matters if it's a game or an app), and it's been stuck at "Authorizing Purchase" even until now. My card has been charged 5 bucks, and I can't refund it because I get an error every time I try to.

I have a Stock Froyo N1. I've had the demo for a long time so I don't know why it's not letting me compete the purchase. How do i go about either completing the purchase or refunding? I'm stuck in an endless loop here and out 5 bucks.

I went to the devs website and they say it's up to Google to deal with purchase problems.

Android :: Full Refund Product - 24 / 48 Hours?

Mar 10, 2010

In December, there were new terms for the Market. A big note was "You authorize Google to give the buyer a full refund of the Product price if the buyer requests the refund within 48 hours after purchase." It still seems that all references to the refund policy still state 24 hours. http://market.android.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=134336. So is it 48 or 24 hours officially? Is the 48 hours in the agreement just because the 24 hours never seemed to be a hard deadline. I noticed users refunding around 30 hours in the past.

Android :: Possible To Over-ride Default Android Libraries?

Jul 23, 2010

I'm working on a SMIME application to decode .p7m signed and encrypted messages.I've got a small Java app written using the latest Bouncy Castle libraries and everything is working great.I ran into some issues moving the code into an Android app.I've included the newest BC libraries in the app, but my guess is my problems..Is it possible to selectively over-ride packages and force the JVM to use the included libraries in the application? This may be an entirely futile effort and completely the wrong approach but I've exhausted the search boxes in every forum i can find so I thought i'd toss it out here.

Motorola Droid X :: 2nd Click Of Home Button As Sleep Button?

I like being able to wake the phone to view the lock screen using the home button at the bottom of the phone, but is there any way to make it so that a second click of that button, or a click of one of the others down there, will make it sleep again? Having to press the power button up top is just an inconvenience.

Motorola Droid :: Designate Camera Button To Become Power Button?

Apr 21, 2010

I tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that discussed it. My power button appears as though its been jammed. I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.

My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.

Android : Store A Secret Key On Droid?

Apr 20, 2010

My Android application uses a secret key to generate a token for authentication purposes. Is there a more secure way to store this than just putting this in the data store? I think for the iPhone, we store it in the keychain. I am aware of android.accounts.AccountManager, but this seems to give other applications potentially the ability to access the password (if the user selects the wrong option) and so seems less secure.

Android :: Get Online Data And Store It In Droid?

Sep 30, 2010

I'm getting hung up on how to handle the data for an app I'm designing. I want to pull a list of items from the net. The data is updated routinely, and I think it would be good to store all the data on the device so the app can load quickly and refresh the data in a background thread rather than have to wait for the network on every start-up.

I think I should make the data available in an XML and have a thread parse and save into a SQLite DB, but I'm not sure if that's the "best practice." Are there other ways that people go about handling this?

Android :: Cache And Store Objects / Set An Expire Policy In Droid?

May 3, 2010

I have an app fetch data from internet, for better performance and bandwidth, I need to implement a cache layer.

There are two different data coming from the internet, one is changing every one hour and another one does not change basically. So for the first type of data, I need to implement an expire policy to make it self deleted after it was created for 1 hour, and when user request that data, I will check the storage first and then goto internet if nothing found.

I thought about using a SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase to store the json data or serialized object string.

My question is:

1) What should I use, SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase or anything else, a piece of data is not big but there are maybe many instances of that data.

2) How to implement that expire system.
