I have a app in development. It write data to a SQLite database. I've tested the app on my NexusOne over the weekend and have a bunch of data now in the database. I'd like to copy the database off of the phone and onto my dev machine.
I've tried to use adb pull <path to mydatabase> <path to my local machine> but it gives me a Permission Denied error.

Is there any tool that will allow me to browse databases on my Android device? Something like Sql Management Studio - you know GUI tool that displays databases, tables, row in tables, etc.
I'm using Eclipse for development (if it is important for plug-in suggestions).

I guess many people already read this article:
Using your own SQLite database in Android applications: http://www.reigndesign.com/blog/using-your-own-sqlite-database-in-android-applications/comment-page-2/#comment-12368
However it's keep bringing IOException at
CODE:.............
I'am trying to use a large DB file. It's as big as >8MB. I built it using sqlite3 in Mac OS X, inserted UTF-8 encoded strings (for I am using Korean), added android_meta table with ko_KR as locale, as instructed above.
However, When I debug, it keeps showing IOException at
CODE:..............
I suspect it's caused by trying to read a big file. If not, I have no clue why.
I tested the same code using much smaller text file, and it worked fine.
Can anyone help me out on this? I've searched many places, but no place gave me the clear answer, or good solution. Good meaning efficient or easy.
I will try use BufferedInput(Output)Stream, but if the simpler one cannot work, I don't think this will work either.
Can anyone explain the fundamental limits in file input/output in Android, and the right way around it, possibly?
WITH MORE DETAIL:
CODE:...............

There are several apps that I have tried out and for various reasons the app didn't suit my needs so I uninstalled the app. Some of these apps were very close to what I was looking for so it is possible that a future upgrade to the app would make the app useful for my needs. In these cases, it would be nice to be able to have a list of these apps and get notified when an update is available. Is there a way to get notified of or monitor updates to an app that is not installed? I realize that I could just leave all these apps installed even though I wouldn't use them and then I would get update notifications through the marketplace, but that is just a waste of space and clutters the app drawer.

We still haven't figured this out? Apple still slaps DRM all over their video content? I want to buy a season of a show from iTunes to watch on my Nexus and I won't be able to because of DRM. I don't want to pay $40+ for a crappy DRM-Remover app. Is there really no legal/easy way to watch iTunes-purchased videos on my Android device??

Has anybody heard and/or know of any information regarding a Mobile Netfilx instant movie watch app?The reason I am asking; is my friends who own the Iphone 4, and I always have that "Look what my phone can do" competition.Well today, he was finally able to out do my Evo, I think. He was able to pull up netfilx via an app, and watch instant watch movies. So I finally had to admit defeat in our phone fight. Now I dont know if I was "Defeated" due to the lack of knowing how to view Netflix instant Watch movies on my phone, or if the EVO is currently not capable of supporting that service.I also read that Hulu will soon be available for the Android Market.

So my app downloads images at the users' request from an online source. Through a button in the activity, the user can choose to hide or show the images in the gallery. This is easy enough, I just add or remove a .nomedia file as needed. However, I want to rescan media every time so that the change is instant, and requires no further user interaction.
After each image is downloaded, I am using the method at http://www.mail-archive.com/android-developers@googlegroups.com/msg24164.html to scan the specific image into the library. That works great for one image, but when the .nomedia file is added, I really need to be able to scan a whole directory.
I have considered calling the MediaScannerNotifier on each image in the directory, but that just seems clumsy and lazy.

Can someone explain a couple of very simple concepts to me - I'm interested in mobile devices running android and how they are identified over networks. Some scenarios: Device is connected over WiFi - presumably the device has a standard IP address as with any host and can communicate with any other android host over TCP/IP (assuming it knows the participating device's IP? device is connected over bluetooth - how are devices identified in this case? device is connected over mobile operator's network - this is the one I'm interested in and confused by - is there anyway for two or more devices to discover each other and communicate via the mobile operator's network? How does a device communicate with a backend server in this scenario? In other words, how do apps and devices communicate when not connected to a WiFi network?

I have developed and tested my app on the emulator, and now want to install it on my HTC device. the apk installs successfully, however my database is not going with it. I have created my database using sqliteman browser b/c I have to insert a bulk data before the app starts. I have four tables in my db and call each in different activities and created all on the sqliteman. after the data is inserted I pull back the db onto the data folder of the emulator. it works perfect on the emulator but failed on the device. when I try to pull my db on the real device, it shows access denied problem
