When i finish entering info in a form textbox using the stock browser, it allways submit the form automatically. The webpage give me a error since there is missing data...
Is there a setting to stop it from doing this?

I have a Motorola Droid running Eclair 2.1 that I rooted a few weeks back. Today I received the auto-update notice on my device, but I don't want to just go ahead with it and lose root access. So I am hoping someone can tell me how I should handle this. I would like to update, but only if I can keep root access as I have overclocked and run a number of other root-only apps. Here is my device info... I'll try to provide as much as I can. I used the instructions listed HERE to root my device, and HERE to overclock. Also, will it be necessary to wipe all my data to perform this update and re-root? And if it turns out that I am not ready to update right now, is there a way to stop the automatic notifications?

WHY and how do I stop it? For example, I want to type a smiley face so I make a colon : and it automatically spaces afterward. Or it moves it to the previous word so oinstead of hello it comes out as: ) anyway it only happens in the touch keyboard. I Hate It HATE
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch ROMs on my droid, and boot up the new ROM, sign in to my google account, etc. the market automatically starts downloading all of the apps that I had. Now, like most rooters, I'm using Titanium Backup and restore my apps through that so I keep all of the data and settings as well. How do I stop the market from automatically starting those downloads? All I need to download is TiBu so I can restore all of my backups. The last couple of times I just go into the market and cancel all of the downloads except TiBu but with over 100 apps, that's very time consuming. There has to be an easier way that I haven't found or read about yet.

However, what really makes or breaks the decision is whether Android has an auto-fill function for web-forms or not. By this I am thinking of the same kind of functionality that you find in certain PC or Mac Internet browsers/plug-ins where you can save a "form template" that you use to fill in several other forms with the same fields in them as the original one (and the saved template).Is this a standard functionality in the Android OS or is there any application out there that can give me this possibility?

That's pretty reasonable for the hard keyboard as you can easily see that there are more fields to fill out, and can just tap the next field once to go there.

I had the strings.xml file translated into other languages, and now I'd like to publish the different versions in that language. I cannot help but get the impression that by doing so, I will erase the original (in English) version.I think because the package name is the same throughout the entire product that the Android Market sees it as the same APP and will overwrite any previous apps.How do I publish an APP (APK) file that has just been translated or localized for a different language? What is the procedure? Do I have to go in the code and change the entire code ? or is there another way?

However, my password has changed but it still tries to auto-populate the website fields with these values. Anyone know of a way to get it to stop so I can edit it with the new values?
When I contacted Xscope's developer, he mentioned that it wasn't any settings within the browser and that xScope doesn't store or manage it. The android webkit does. Anyone know what this means and where do I go to edit sites' field values the browser remembers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else seen this? Inputting things into short fields, like phone numbers, usernames, and emails is fine, but entering text into larger fields is extremely laggy. I wanted to do this post from my phone a little while ago, but it was like the keyboard was under water as I typed at normal speed...like it couldn't keep up with me at all. I could actually stop typing and watch one letter pop up every second until it had cought up with the typing I had just done.
Tapping out SMS's or emails is fine, it just seems to be the large text fields (like the one I'm using right now on my PC) that give the phone trouble...I'm on an EVO with stock 2.2 and multi-touch keyboard (Droid X).

I actually can call TelephonyManager.getDeviceID () to retrieve the IMEI and I see these permissions in Settings -> Applications. I don't have this behavior in the emulator.
