When trying to execute this code in a service:

When the service is first called and no MediaPlayer-object exists, the stream is started correctly. But when the onStart()-method is called again (with the player streaming) I get the above error code. I can't find any information about this error code, so I turn to you for help. Replacing mp.pause() with mp.stop() makes it work. Could it be that the stream does not support pausing? It's an online radio stream (RTSP) in the SDP format.

May 19, 2010I am getting an error in my Problems tab for my Android Project in Eclipse. The error is "Android Packaging Problem" with an Unknown location. Unknown Error NullPointerException
I cannot determine what this problem is. My project was working a few hours ago. The only change I made was to add a public interface ITrackDao to my project and implement it. There are no errors associated with this. I am not even sure where to begin to look. I cannot launch the application.

May 13, 2009Not sure what is going on. Running Windows Vista x64. Not had really any problems with eclipse. I had to upgrade to 1.5 and when I did that I got all kinds of install errors. So I said 'f-it'. I decided to start over and downloaded the 1.5SDK, downloaded the Eclipse for Java, Not Eclipse classic (someone said that was an issue). Aug 1, 2010I have an Orange branded Hero and just tried to upgrade from build 2.73.61.5 (Firmware 1.5) to ROM Version:2.73.61.66 as I believe this is necessary in order to get the latest version of Android (2.1). Right at the start of the upgrade process I get an error message saying
Error [155] unknown error. The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone. Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again. I rang Orange and they couldn't help. I managed to speak to someone who understood the information I was telling him but he was not able to help other than do a Google search whilst I was on the phone to him. The suggestion was that the internal phone storage is insufficient to handle the 103MB image size of the upgrade file. I have now deleted all my apps (after backing them up) and have 123MB internal phone storage available space which should easily be enough but I'm still getting the error.

Jan 1, 2010One of my android apps performs the following specific SQLite query:

Now that works on some Android phones, but on a few of them it crashes with the following error:

For some reason, "-1" is interpreted as a column rather than a number... that doesn't make much sense and when I read the SQLite query language I see no need to escape this number in parentheses. Could it be an issue of a different version of SQLite? Would adding parentheses this help any? Instead, I'll probably rewrite it using >= 0 but still I'd like to understand what's going on.

If the person is on my contacts list, their name comes up as unknown & if it's a regular number like my work or Dr office it also comes up as unknown. Oct 15, 2010This month, I am not able to get a AT&T Samsung Galaxy Captivate to be recognized by my Win xp when I connect them with a USB cable. This is the same phone I had trouble connecting a few months back. With much help from this list, I was able to get them connected. (Win device mngr, red check mark, get ID, insert this ID in android_winusb.inf file and reinstall android sdk usb driver.) After the fix, communication was successfull for Aug and Sept (about 10 connections per monthduring a 5 day period). But this month the Win xp will not recognize the phone. The only thing that happens is that the device manager, usb, list is updated to include "unknown device" which has no ID's. I have talked to AT&T and Samsung. One person said that there was "an update Oct 5" and this bit of information got me introduced to Samsung tech suppor level 1 and then, after considerable talking, to level 2. Samsung level 2 said that I must have the specific USB cable that came in the box with the phone, I said that probably was not the problem because I have used this (motorola) cable successfully at least 20 times. Then all of a sudden I get a dial tone. So I drove the 20 miles, went into the owners home (while talking to him on his phone, he has mine to use beta testing) and got the cable. Results are the same with this Samsung cable. I am writting this long note becasue I have lots of time waiting for 50 minutes for level 2 support again. I am loosing hope that Samsung is going to be able to help me or possibly they recognize my phone # and know my problem is unresolvable. Does anybody have any light they can shed on this issue?

For an unknown reason to me, after to switched from using the common SQLiteOpenHelper to a custom one which allows me to store my database on the SD card, every 6th or 7th image that is loaded throws a NullPointer at:
imageCallback.imageLoaded((Bitmap) message.obj, wallpaperNumber);
I've checked everything and don't actually know what variable is actually null.

May 5, 2010Using appbrain on my PC seems to work fine when I'm not logged in. When I do log in and try to click on an app I get this error message:
"Error: Server Error The server encountered an error and could not complete your request. If the problem persists, please report your problem and mention this error message and the query that caused it."
Anyone else have this issue when using Appbrain on their pc?
Well, It looks like I solved the problem. I just deleted my account and created it again and it's fixed (for now).

It works quite fine when connected with 3G/3G+. Sometimes, not very often, I get a "SocketException no route to host" or "unknown host" exception when trying to connect. When I'm connected with WIFI, it works sometimes and it's very fast, but the same error occurs very often, and when it has occurred I must restart my WiFi to be able to connect again, even with webbrowser. I use apache commons FTPClient this way:

It looks like having forgot something that makes connection down after several uses of my ftp program, but what? And why does this work quite well (but not always) with 3G/EDGE connection?
