Android :: Porting From J2ME To Android
Mar 13, 2009I'm interesting in the use of J2ME 's applications about Android SDK. I've been reading enought about item. there has some tools for doing it, but I don't get it. For example, by the way I've seen, J2me MIDP RUNNER is one of them. This tools ofers a serious of applications where the user can chosee, what of all them, he want to install. This tools offers a serious of applications, the user will choose which one of them to install. The J2me application is converted to Android (apk), but there is only a problem. It isn't proved on the Android SDK because is only running on version 0.9 and the version used is the 1.0 currently. Either I don't know if it's could use: wifi, bluetooh, accelerometer... after the conversion. In addition to this, according to the documents readed Android works with J2SE. The main idea is: (in some way)if It's posible export the platform on J2ME to Android SDK through a tools. It's very very import the use the wifi... on Android. It's known the tool called ME4Android. I've tried getting it, but I don't know where download it.

Sep 25, 2009For my useless project of the month I'm working on a 'emulator' to run J2ME programs on Android. But now I'm stuck with the J2ME Sprite implementation. Specifically the transformations used in it.
In my Sprite I have a bitmap with three character images. I would like to paint the second frame mirrored or rotated 90 degrees. What would be the best way for it?
I have following code that paints the given frame without any transformations.
frameX, frameY are frame position coordinates on give sprite bitmap.
Rect src = new Rect(frameX, frameY, frameX + spriteWidth, frameY + spriteHeight);
Rect dst = new Rect(paintX, paintY, paintX + spriteWidth, paintY + spriteHeight);
canvas.drawBitmap(image, src, dst, null);
As I understand I need to make some matrix magic on the canvas, but I have not been able to figure this out.

I need to fetch Android ROM. I have chosen and downloaded v2.1 via SDK. - All of these files should be renamed to rofs3 and uda files according to Nokia firmware file names. - Correct bootloader is needed to make it running (for example OpeniBoot) - Drivers have to be extracted and edited for Android. The most important thing of all is display because its resolution is completely different than any seen Android phone. - Hardware shouldn't be a problem, it passed minimum requirements. So, is it possible to realize?
