I am trying to create PHP script to get app version from Android APK file. Extracting xml file from APK (zip) file and then parsing XML is one way, but i guess it should be simpler. Something like PHP Manual, example #3. Any ideas how to create script?

I just worked my Android application with device (HTC Magic) version 1.5 and it loads properly and when i try to load the same application with the other phone by installing the .apk file of version1.5 with android version 2.1 and kernel version 2.6.29 omap1 but now i couldnt find my application getting installed on my device...

In the screenshot you can see Quadmon icon on top and it says it can not install app in Korean.

Is there any other way to get distributed my apk file into the device?
A lot was made of Android 4.4 KitKat having a smaller file size than previous versions of Android. But for whatever reason I can find no mention of those actual file sizes, not even KitKat. How to know the file size of each version of Android?

What I did was create two .java files. One that can compile and run on a 1.5 phone (SDK3) and then one that works on 2.0(SDK5) So for this example i'll call the 1.5 file ExampleOld and the new one Example. I was wondering if i just made activity like this if it would work sort of like a "portal" and pick the activity to load depending on the SDK so there is no crash or compile errors. Are there any changes I should make to my code? Maybe anyone out there that's had to do this before.

I sort of screwed up my tablet, I can boot into stock recovery but not much more. ADB won't work, and AFAIK nobody knows how to enter fastboot mode on this thing. Hence, I figured that the only way to reinstall the ROM is to trick recovery into installing an update package that's already installed.
The tablet is Fujitsu STYLISTIC M532.

I was going to use some sort of film protector, such as Zagg invisible shield and a Flip Case. But the only flip case I can find for the Galaxy S looks horrid, and I am not sure on the texture of Zagg Invisible Shields.I have also considered silicone gel cases, but I am having trouble finding one that is nice, and pouches in combo with a screen protector.What would you use and if I did buy a screen protector, which brand should it be, I want one that will protect but with minimum difference to the feel or colour of the screen.

I want to have a paid version that removes the ads and adds extra features. How can I use the paid app as a "license key" to unlock the features in the free app? I am able attach file from external storage sdcard while emailing the same using getExternalStorageDirectory as sendIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.parse("file://"+Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory()+"/ zibra.txt"));
But while trying to attach file from the openOutputFile stored area using sendIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.parse("file://"+ getFilesDir() + "/zibra.txt"));, resulting emptied file emailing.
My file is stored in "/data/data/com.example/files/zibra.txt".

We are suddenly unable to install our app on G1 developer phones with 1.6. Works perfectly on emulator. When installing the app we get:
Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE Please check logcat output for more details. Launch canceled!
And logcat:
PackageManage: Couldn't copy package file to temp file.
What does this mean? We checked that there is actually room enough on the phone.. We tried reverting the code to a revision that worked previously, but are getting the same error.

I have some reference data in a text file (~5MB) that I want to use with might android application.The file is of the format:
1|a|This is line 1a
1|b|This is line 1b
2|a|This is line 2a
2|b|This is line 2b
2|c|This is line 2c
What I want to know is the most efficient way (less memory, fast, size etc.) to use this file within my application.
a.) Should I save the file as a raw resource and open and read the whole file whenever I need a certain line.
b.) Should I convert the file to XML and use XPath to query the file when ever I need to look up a value

c.) Should I just copy & paste the whole file as a static string array in the application and use that.
