I used to have the Instinct any when people would call or when I would get a text message my phone would say the name of the person calling out loud. Does anyone know if there is an app for the HTC EVO?

When I am using Apps, IE. Facebook, Messing, or Browseing the web, I miss incoming calls, the caller (WIFE and others) goes directly to my voice mail, I have checked to see it the check box in the contacts section is check or not (the one that tells the contact to go to VM), and it is UNCHECKED, yet calls still goto VM, the even go to VM after i am done surfen or Texting, is there some way to tell the phone or a check box that i can check to accept all incoming calls no mater what i am doing, i have even called CS to see if CALL FWDing got turned on some how, they told me nope!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Google voice with my own cell #, not a GV #. But when I go to make a call with with the regular keypad or via GV there is no option to place the call with GV. When I go to GV settings the only options it has are never use GV, ask every time I place an international call, or use GV for international calls only. Never a mention of using GV for domestic calls. Anyone know why? Currently using Droid with 2.0.1.

Is it possible to initiate a voice call and transmit our generated audio signal (means bypassing the microphone as the primary audio source for that call)? I write this because I'm slightly worried after reading some posts on this list/group which states that the android.telphony APIs are private and can't be called from processes outside the the telephone subsystem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeems to be a big problem with Google Voice starting sometime last night. Outgoing calls from an Android phone are not working. The phone number dialed just rings and rings and is rarely ringing the other end. When it does ring the other end, it's showing the relay number, not the Google Voice number and when the person picks up, no one's there.Relay number is not letting me make calls with the google voice app.Google Mobile Help Current work around is to either call your Google Voice number directly and use it that way. Or use the web interface to call back. Still haven't found any confirmations from Google about this or if a fix is coming.

It will then ring for another split second, and add yet another missed call. Every call coming to my number gets around 5 missed calls. The call from their end seems normal, as all they hear is ringing. On my end, I cant even answer the call because it vanishes right away.

Then the other day, I lost connection to phone and had to re-connect (even having to re-enter the pairing code). After this, Now I can hear media through the blue tooth, however, I can no longer make / receive voice calls through the bluetooth even though it says it's paired. Tried a bunch of things (including re-pairing) and nothing seems to work. I'd hate to buy a new bluetooth and have the same problem.

Every time I try to dial out there is about 10 seconds of silence followed by beeps and then the message on screen says "Network Status: The network is busy. Please try again later." The problem started this morning and I haven't been able to make any calls since then. I have a great network signal (3-4 bars) and I can check email, surf the web and everything. I am not aware of any update that might have caused this.

It is very sporatic but happens quite frequently. Sometimes i will see an incoming call, hear the ringer, then when i click "Accept" it appears to be connected, but i hear dead silence. Then about 10 seconds later the call is ended. It may happen a few times in a row, and it also may not happen. I never have any issues dialing out though. I know the people calling me, and sometimes it is people who don't call regularly. They wouldn't play games like prank call me.
If i have 3.5mm -> aux jack plugged into the phone for music, will this interfere will accepting / making calls through the car bluetooth while audio jack is plugged in? (I do not have A2DP on my car bluetooth thus using to 3.5mm -> aux for music)

When I long press the search button and use the command "Call <name>" where <name> is someone in my list of contacts (People) e.g. "Call Home" it recognises the words correctly but all it does is bring up a result screen from a Google Web Search. Am I doing something stupid?

It seems that the issue has to do with the SE dialer. Is there a way to go to the stock generic Android dialer? If not, any other suggestions?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOne day about 3 weeks ago I missed a few calls from a friend because the phone did not ring.I had a special ringtone assigned to the person, so I checked to see if there was something wrong with the person's Contacts entry that would make the phone not ring.When I looked, the box was checked where it says "Send calls directly to voicemail".I know that I never checked that box intentionally, so I unchecked it.That was about 3 weeks ago.Yesterday the same person called 3 times and the phone never rang, so I looked at the Contacts entry again and, sure enough, the box was checked again!I carry my phone in a holster on my belt, so it can't be that the box was inadvertently checked by the phone moving around in my pocket.Has anyone else had this experience?
