HTC EVO 4G :: Have Media But No Voice Calls Through Bluetooth
Nov 28, 2010
My jabra BT8040 worked perfectly with my Evo for the last 3-4 months. Then the other day, I lost connection to phone and had to re-connect (even having to re-enter the pairing code). After this, Now I can hear media through the blue tooth, however, I can no longer make / receive voice calls through the bluetooth even though it says it's paired. Tried a bunch of things (including re-pairing) and nothing seems to work. I'd hate to buy a new bluetooth and have the same problem.

I have the following setup:
Desire
Aux Input (for music)
SuperTooth One BlueTooth Hands Free
When I drive, I use the HTC Desire to play the sat nav instructions and music out of the Aux to the stereo however, if I enable Bluetooth, all music and commands are sent through the Bluetooth receiver instead.
On the iPhone, you have the option to route audio through headphones socket or through the BT device - but cannot find out how to do it on the Desire.
Are there any applications that make it possible to route calls out via BT and everything else out over the Aux?

I'm looking for an app. that will allow me to record calls(my voice only) or take voice notes during a call. I've tried a few but it seems neither of them works on android 2.2.

Even registering the broadcast receiver at the highest priority still fails to receive the Bluetooth media button events on the HTC Hero phone. The Bluetooth media button registration code works fine on the other Android phones that I have tested. Apparently this isn't the first time HTC has done something like this, as I also found a report of a similar problem on one of the HTC Microsoft Mobile Devices reported here
It seems extremely short sighted of HTC to code their media player so that it grabs the Bluetooth AVRCP media button events in such a way that other applications are unable to work with the Bluetooth head phone buttons and Bluetooth in car stereo systems.................

Almost a year ago I purchased the HT820 Motorolla headset so I could pair a bluetooth phone and mp3 player to the same headset. It worked fantastic. Now that I finally have my hands on the Google phone, I was hoping to dual pair the headset to the phone for both media and the phone.
I don't know if I am doing something wrong during the pairing procedure, but it will not play media through the headset, except in the second before dialing a contact or just after I hang up. Whatever music is playing, comes out of the speakers, but like I said if a call comes in, I hear the music through the headset until I answer, and then it pauses like it should, then plays again after I hang up but it switches back to the external speaker almost immediately.
It works fine for the phone, and in the Bluetooth list of devices, it shows as connected.

I cannot make any calls with my Incredible all of a sudden - I cannot even reach my voice mail. Every time I try to dial out there is about 10 seconds of silence followed by beeps and then the message on screen says "Network Status: The network is busy. Please try again later." The problem started this morning and I haven't been able to make any calls since then. I have a great network signal (3-4 bars) and I can check email, surf the web and everything. I am not aware of any update that might have caused this.

2.2 froyo OTA
rooted, virtuous 2.7 + custom kernal
setCPU with just screen off profile
It is very sporatic but happens quite frequently. Sometimes i will see an incoming call, hear the ringer, then when i click "Accept" it appears to be connected, but i hear dead silence. Then about 10 seconds later the call is ended. It may happen a few times in a row, and it also may not happen. I never have any issues dialing out though. I know the people calling me, and sometimes it is people who don't call regularly. They wouldn't play games like prank call me.

Anyone know why I would get a lot of calls to my google voice number on my bill? I never actually call my voicemail. I always use the gv app to read the transcription of listen to the message play if I can't understand the transcription.

I have Google voice with my own cell #, not a GV #. But when I go to make a call with with the regular keypad or via GV there is no option to place the call with GV. When I go to GV settings the only options it has are never use GV, ask every time I place an international call, or use GV for international calls only. Never a mention of using GV for domestic calls. Anyone know why? Currently using Droid with 2.0.1.

Is there a program allowing you to record your calls (both sides) under android 2.1? What about one that modulates your voice in real time, the 1ghz cpu of a nexus should be sufficient to do that real time, right?

Recently while flashing the 23112010 nightly I noticed that I could not end voice call. The screen would stay at 'hanging' and remain there. In the notification the active call was visible. The call end button didnt work. Also the call end menu did not work.

we're a group of students and trying to implement some kind of voice cryptography over a gsm connection (without modifing any gsm related codecs, we render pure audio which gets transmitted via gsm). Is it possible to initiate a voice call and transmit our generated audio signal (means bypassing the microphone as the primary audio source for that call)? I write this because I'm slightly worried after reading some posts on this list/group which states that the android.telphony APIs are private and can't be called from processes outside the the telephone subsystem.

Seems to be a big problem with Google Voice starting sometime last night. Outgoing calls from an Android phone are not working. The phone number dialed just rings and rings and is rarely ringing the other end. When it does ring the other end, it's showing the relay number, not the Google Voice number and when the person picks up, no one's there.Relay number is not letting me make calls with the google voice app.Google Mobile Help Current work around is to either call your Google Voice number directly and use it that way. Or use the web interface to call back. Still haven't found any confirmations from Google about this or if a fix is coming.

I installed VoiceSearch_2.1 and HTC_IME mod successfully. The voice to text works great! However I can't seem to make the Phone Call functionality work. When I long press the search button and use the command "Call <name>" where <name> is someone in my list of contacts (People) e.g. "Call Home" it recognises the words correctly but all it does is bring up a result screen from a Google Web Search. Am I doing something stupid?

I've had my HTC Hero for a couple of weeks now and I love it. I've been looking for an application that enables me to make skype to skype calls, kinda like pc to pc calls on skype; not using skype out numbers. I downloaded the skype lite application and that didn't do it for me.

After updating to 2.1 on my X10, I noticed that I cannot use Google Voice to make phone calls (either selecting "use Google Voice for all calls" or "use Google Voice for international phones). It seems that the issue has to do with the SE dialer. Is there a way to go to the stock generic Android dialer? If not, any other suggestions?

Whenever I have someone call my Google Voice number, it rings for a split second, then goes immediately to a missed call icon on my droid. It will then ring for another split second, and add yet another missed call. Every call coming to my number gets around 5 missed calls. The call from their end seems normal, as all they hear is ringing. On my end, I cant even answer the call because it vanishes right away.

One day about 3 weeks ago I missed a few calls from a friend because the phone did not ring.I had a special ringtone assigned to the person, so I checked to see if there was something wrong with the person's Contacts entry that would make the phone not ring. When I looked, the box was checked where it says "Send calls directly to voicemail".I know that I never checked that box intentionally, so I unchecked it.That was about 3 weeks ago.Yesterday the same person called 3 times and the phone never rang, so I looked at the Contacts entry again and, sure enough, the box was checked again!I carry my phone in a holster on my belt, so it can't be that the box was inadvertently checked by the phone moving around in my pocket.Has anyone else had this experience?
