I made a thread about this a while ago and it was unsuccessful. I was recommended to use the Qik app, but that doesn't suit me as I wish to use it with MSN and other chat sites. So my question is: are there any apps out there that allow an Android phone (rooted already, if necessary) to be used as a wired webcam, or via bluetooth? Or is any such app currently being developed?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a PC running Windows XP, which is connected to the internet using a wired cable modem. I then have a laptop, which I want to use to access the internet, but no wireless router.
Then I realized that my G1 (running Froyo) has WiFi, and I have the USB cable for it. So, is there any way of setting up my G1 to use the connection from the desktop PC via USB, and then broadcast it as a WiFi network? This is only intended to be a temporary solution (a few days) so I'm not going to go out and buy a wireless router or anything.
I have searched the market for an app that will turn my phone into a webcam and I cannot find anything. I am just wanting a traditional webcam that I would be able to connect via usb to my comp and use, say, in yahoo chat or skype. Does anyone know if there is something out there like this? I've got an acclaim and was wondering if I could plug a webcam into the mini usb and have it work for Skype? I know I could do an app and use the camera on the phone so they could see me (or rather the kids...I became irrelevant to the parents once the grandkids came along), but then the kids couldn't see THEM on the screen since the camera is on the back.

android.media.AudioManager doesn't generate an event, it even doesn't return a correct value with isWiredHeadsetOn()
Just downloaded an app called Wired Goggles from Market. Dev says use faster devices like N1 but its working great on my Droid. It displays REAL TIME wireframe outlines of whatever you point your camera at. You can change colors and full version you can save image to SD card in .png format. Try free version first and play with it.
