How can plugins for the native Android browser be developed? Neither Google nor the Android SDK give information about this topic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a setting, as with voice calls, to have all SMS commands directed through Google Voice? I've canceled my Verizon texting plan and want to send all of my texts through Google Voice. Obviously I can do this by composing messages through the GV app, but I would like to click on a contact's page and have GV automatically open to send the text message. Much like Handcent opens when you select a contacts texting option, when you have Handcent installed. When I select the text message option from a contacts page (or press their contact picture and then select the text option), the Droid opens the standard text message application to send the text. Interestingly, if I go into the call log, select a recently called number and choose "send text message," it opens Google Voice to send the text message. How do I get the same functionality as above, so that selecting text message from a contact's page or shortcut uses Google Voice to send the message?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just started doing some Android app development and I decided I'm going to write app to work with Google Calendar.First problem that came to me is that I can't add any gmail account on the emulator. When I go to settings accounts, I can only add Exchange account. This raises a question how should I develop such application. I know that I should mock the API while I'm running tests, but how am I supposed to run the app on the emulator?
View 1 Replies View Relatedcould not run any raw aac files (e.g xxx.aac) in native music player although OPENCORE has a raw aac parser ...
Aacfileparser.cpp (externalopencorefileformats
awaacparsersrc)
This looks like not integrated with Android framework layer through JNI. So music app does not have any knowledge of this file type ..
Is it just me, or is it weird to anyone else that more than half the apps Google itself releases for Android leaves us 1.5 users high and dry? It would seem that if anyone would empathize with us poor schmucks who got suckered into buying a phone whose OS went obsolete in 3 weeks Google would. Seems like when I view all the apps Google has for Android every other app I search for comes up nill on my Hero.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having issues for about 6 months with my google+ photos not showing in my gallery on my GS3 (d2att) (SGH-I747). Typically, they will show up once you have logged into your respective Gmail account and selected sync photos in the settings. This was the case for me a while back, then they just went away.
I have tried CyanogenMod Nightlies, Stable builds, Paranoid Android, JellyBam versions 8.0 - 9.2 (The Albums showed up randomly in one version of JellyBam but I don't recall which one) and have had no success with any of them. I always make sure that I have the correct version of GAPPS installed with them and have done everything I can think to do: Factory wipe/reset, dalvik wipe, cache wipe, formatted system, data, cache, even the internal sd card with no luck.
I ended up flashing all the way back to stock unrooted via Odin, then rooted and reflashed new versions of CM, Paranoid and Jellybam. The albums show up in the stock ROM just fine but not on any of the other ROMs I've used.
I take WAY too many pics to keep them all on my memory card and phone. I like to dump them all into G+ albums and just access them that way if I need to see them. I bought the picasa app but I'm not a fan bc it's not fluid like the gallery app. How can I get these to come back in a custom ROM? I really can't handle stock ROMs at all.
I have Sprint and an integrated google voice number. I also have a tablet I use to send/receive GVoice messages. Problem is, only the received messages will show up on my phone...any message sent through GVoice isn't there. Ps, I understand WHY, just looking for a way to get around it.
Is there any app/technique available (searched FOREVER) that will allow my phone to sync up with the sent messages from GVoice? Essentially, I want to be able to have a gvoice only conversation on the tablet and have the same conversation show up on the phone.
Are any HTC Hero owners able to see events on Calendars that are Shared from Other gmail accounts. In the native calendar app on the HTC Hero?I have been trying to determine if this is a limitation of the Calendar Application or a miss configuration my end. I have seen Android phones that can view subscribed calenders from other users before, but I am the only person I know to own a HTC andriod phone and on the Hero I can not see any of my subscribed calendars. The gmail account tied to the the HTC hero has 6 calendars created through gmail interface. View 6 Replies View RelatedLike the title says, I am thinking about developing my own browser for Android devices.
My first thought is to know what kind of possibilities I have, before I begin creating my software architecture. Are there any (open?) Browser Engines you could include into your library and reuse them?
(There are some unknown browsers in the Android Market and I can't imagine they implemented the parsing).
Furthermore: If there IS something like I've described before, is it possible to modify (or "fine tune") the render methods? This is one of the most interesting points I guess.
And to end this question and catch the else-case: What would be the alternative way to begin?
