Android : Monkey Not Playing Video Using Music App

We are trying to test the Music Player (Music.apk) with Monkey. We have added the permissions in AndroidManifest.xml of Camera application (Camera.AK): <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SET_ACTIVITY_WATCHER" /> In the same file, we have added intent for MovieView Activity: <category android:name="android.intent.category.MONKEY" /> We use the following commands: # Launch the Music Player am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.music/ com.android.music.VideoBrowserActivity # Launch Monkey to test Music player monkey -p com.android.music -v -v -v 500 But, we get the error message: "// Rejecting start of Intent.

When playing music or watching video using the headphones that came with it, there is a lot of crackling and hissing. If you go back to the home screen, there is a high pitched whistling sound (almost as if you've placed a microphone next to a speaker and are getting feedback as a result.) I can't seem to get any FM radio stations either. I've tried three different sets of headphones as well as the set bundled with the Desire and all have the same problem. Is this a known issue or should I phone O2 and get it replaced.

i'm big into freestyling. i have over 1500 instrumentals on my phone.i can't figure out how to play them and record myself (either audio or video) at the same time.i figure i'm either gonna have to download a new music player that won't close or a video/audio recorder that won't close the "Music" player that came with my evo.and before anyone goes tryin to be smart, i realize that even if i was able to accomplish such an action the quality would probably be really low due to speaker and mic being so close.my intent is more of a "on the fly lyric composition" rather than a " put myself on youtube to show everyone how awesome i am"

Once I start up monkey from the shell like:
adb shell monkey --port 1080
Then, If I write normal java code to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1:1080 (on the device itself) and then issue monkey commands from there?
I have tried this and I am able to create a socket, but to get the response, I wait for an awfully long time and nothing happens. Why this behavior?

I spent quite some time de-deduping my PC's music library using Media Monkey and going through all albums to grab info from Amazon. Then I connect my phone and got MM to recognize the G: drive. Then I synced all my music and discovered some issues while trying to play the music using cubed (aka 3):
(a) album art was not showing up. I had previously used cubed to grab art, then cleared the cache before uploading my music. After upload, no art is showing in cubed app
(b) the music on my sd card was stored directly to the G: drive instead of the music folder. How do I get MM to sync directly to the music folder?

common question this one, but i have had a search but no luck i;m afraid. Using Media Monkey to sync to my SGS, but the stock player doesn;t seem to recognise playlists, or the difference between podcasts and otehr tracks. How To: Properly Sync Music To Android With MediaMonkey | RickyCadden.com from the site: Mount your phone in USB Mode to your computer, and note the drive letter that it is associated Open this drive in Windows Explorer and create the appropriate folders where you want your music stored. I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. This is where you can specify a folder hierarchy and adjust your sync settings. I would recommend creating a small playlist (~15-20 tracks from various artists/genres/albums) to test with you dont want to do a full sync only to realize you dont like your sync settings. This guide is better because it allows for the use of smart playlists and has much fewer steps than if you use winamp.

I am using the Alcatel OT-918d (stock rom, root access enabled) and while playing videos in the browser, I do not get an action prompt to choose from the available video players and browser plays the video using "default video player".
The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)

Music Player which should STOP after playing a music file and should NOT Repeat or jump play the next audio file. Option of having Stop after playing a single music file.I know except VLC beta player- which has some hanging problems & needs to be forced quit sometimes (Motorola Phone).

Using the Android SDK, is it possible to play a video stream using the MMS protocol I am streaming video from a PC using windows media. I can use Windows Media Player to play the stream by just inputting the following URL in Windows Media Player mms://192.168.223.194:8081. Is it possible to play the same stream using the Android SDK?

My question is : on the HTC Desire, is it possible to listen music with the default player, while doing something else like browsing the web? Because when I'm under the music player app, listening to something, and then I click (or long-click) "home" button, the sound stops. Also, while i'm listening to a track, if a phone call comes in, the music is paused, but when the call ends, the track position is lost and it starts from the beginning. Is all this normal?

I'm currently using double twist, but it doesn't seem to allow you to "play all" by an artist. I need a music player that will allow me to do that. I use the phone as a "best of" since all of my music can not fit on the phone.

I have had this problem for a while, and my boyfriend has too. I have the moto droid and he has droid eris. When certain people send me picture messages and I touch them to open and view it plays as a video, the picture will play for a second and then go to black screen and then back to the messaging screen. It wasn't sent as a video message by the person so why is it "playing " instead of just letting me open it in the gallery and view it like most? I've searched google and other forums for an answer but still nothing.. its not a huge deal but I would like to fix it if possible.

I don't think i'm using the right search terms or else no one else cares about this and it's just me i use doggcatcher for my podcasts. when i want to listen to music, i use the music app. but i have play all random, it pulls from the entire SD card, not just the music folder where i have the music. basically, it's just annoying to have the random music playing and then all of sudden a chapter from an audio book or a podcast starts playing, esp when i'm driving. i don't like having to mess with it then. i have also used it to sync with mediamonkey, but if i have more than one playlist that syncs (i have "favorites" and "recently added"), then i can only pick one playlist at a time to listen to. i can't figure out a way to make a smart playlist or anything like that on the eris. i even downloaded that cube 3 or whatever that was on Lifehacker recently - but that doesn't have anything either.

I want to stream across my home network from an external shared drive but haven't yet found an app that will do it. Don't want homepipe or anything that will use my internet bandwidth as its only for when i'm connected to my home router. ES file explorer achieves it ok and plays the files from the drive but it won't Queue them or play a whole folders worth or anything, so after every song I have to go back to the phone and fiddle around for the next one.

I have a unique situation I need assitance with...about 1.5 years ago I ripped all my cd's to my harddrive in mp3 format, for a thousand or so mp3's. My cd's have all since been stolen out of my car, and a week ago my hard drive crashed. I used a restore tool & was able to retrieve a lot of info from the drive, however none of the files have names on them, just 0001 0002 etc etc. Now my question. I have loaded all my music onto my htc incredible, and am looking for something like pandora which allows you to quickly mark a song as good or bad, and move onto the next. I want to sort through these to see which ones I want to keep, as I don't want to take the time to rename every song from every album as I usually only like 3-4 songs per album. So i want some music player that either I can assign them to a playlist, then sync the playlist to my pc, and sort through that way, or something that allows me to delete the song straight from the main screen. Now before anyone says yes you can delete using astro, or long clicking, what i'm trying to accomplish is to either delete the song, move the song, rate it, or simply mark it good or bad, in 1-2 clicks. If I have to go through screen after screen to delete or assign to a playlist with over 1000+ songs, it'll drive me crazy. I'd rather not do it on my PC as i'd like to do it while walking around wearing headphones.

We're developing an Android game and we play some background music for our intro (we have an Intro Activity) but we want it to continue playing to the next Activity, and perhaps be able to stop or play the music again from anywhere within the application. What we're doing at the moment is play the bgm using MediaPlayer at our Intro Activity. However, we stop the music as soon as the user leaves that Activity. Do we have to use something like Services for this? Or is MediaPlayer/SoundPool enough? If anyone knows the answer, we'd gladly appreciate your sharing it with us.

So most of us know we can play a slideshow while listening to music, but how about something like Windows can do with visualizations. I'm looking for an app or something possibly "sound activated" that will show a cool background while listening to music (sort of like Windows does). The active wallpaper's are sort of on track, but not exactly what I'm looking for. The closest thing I found so far was the glow stick that changes colors...any other ideads?

I have two simple programmes, server and client, both at localhost. What I want to do is to streaming the video from the server to the client through socket and the client can play it by using filediscriptor of the socket. First I try to send some message and the client can receive it. After that I send a few bytes of the video from the server'sd card to the client. The client can receive those bytes but cannot play it. Anyone know how to solve the problem?
