I've seen some screenshots that show a widget that has the notification bar stuff in it (like battery, cell strength, etc.) It looks like a mini version of the notification bar on the desktop? Does anyone know what this widget/app is?

I have just purchased an X10 mini pro, however there is no applications bar in the bottom of the screen. The following instructions therefore do not make sense:You can personalise the home screen by adding application shortcuts: 1) from the home screen, tap the applications bar2) press menu bar and tap add3) in the Add to home screen menu, select the item you want to add How do I add app shortcuts to the desktop? Where is the applications bar? I also cant find mediascape, where is this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to view a full version (desktop version) of a website, but unable to (www.fanhouse.com incase you are wondering). I remembered I could force my old HTC G1 to do this by changing the UA String by putting "about:debug" in the URL, then click "Menu" and setting UAString to desktop.
When I did this on my Vibrant, the moment I exit out of settings page, the Web App crashes. The Web App will force close and can not be restarted until I go to Manage Appicaltions and do a "Clear data" of the Web App.
Anyone have anyluck doing this? Is this a bug with the Samsung's browser or is it a problem with Android 2.1's browser? I still new to 2.1 and to Samsung's TouchWiz so bear with me.
Just got my Eris. So far it really kicks a$$. But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please).My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhile creating a new android project in eclipse 3.5, i have selected Android 2.1 Update1 as build target. But i forgot to give the mini SDK version. Now when the build the project, its giving a warning message "WARNING: Application does not specify an API level requirement!Device API version is 8 (Android 2.2)"
The application is running fine..but when i run that application is my Samsung Galaxy S which is having android 2.1, the application is behaving differently.
I have even tried adding
<uses-sdk minSdkVersion="7" /> in the manifest file..But still i am getting the warning message..
So how can i change the mini SDK of my project in eclipse to 7,so that i get the same result in my emulator and Mobile phone?
I am very interested in getting an android phone soon but I need to use a certain browser which for some reason is the ONLY mobile browser that works with my home security cameras.I have tried them all (opera,skyfire,iris etc) the only one that works, and works well, is opera mini 3 or mini 2.4.
Any newer versions of opera mini don't work. Go figure. So far I have used it only on windows mobile 6.0
If Opera mini 5 works on the android platform, do you think earlier versions,IE. 3.0 or 2.4 would also work? does it have to be downloaded as an app or can I install the version I have saved (it is not available from opera anymore}

I work as a software developer and for the better part of my day I'm looking at my work screen and my phone is on silent. Because of this I miss SMS's and missed call notifications sometimes for hours. I have been looking for an app that allows me to push some, if not all, notifications raised by my phone to my desktop.
I tried growl but that requires a local web server which I cannot obviously run at work. I also do not have access to my work network from my phone because wifi is restricted. So I need a solution that sends these notifications over the web.
Is there an app or a service that can push notifications from android to my desktop?
I'm from South Africa & have an X10 mini. My phone gave me a notification that I have an update available (version 2.1), but when I connected my phone to my PC, PC Companion said that my phone is up to date.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk basically i've set a song as my tone for notification and it works fine.... except that when i recive an SMS etc it playes the whole song regarless whether i view the SMS or not and refuses to stop :? this is rather annoying meaning i have to put my phone on silent till the song has finished :/ On my old SE phone the music stopped as soon as i had viewed the SMS. I have en event with one our notification befor the event starts... I get the notification with the popup, after I read it I delete the statusbar entry (is this the fault?) I am not able to drag down the notification area when I am holding the mobile in portrait mode.
If I shift to landscape mode (by sliding the qwerty keyboard out), then when I press at the top status bar, I can drag the notification area down.
Can't find way to stop my messages showing in the notification bar while the phone is locked.

I was going to use some sort of film protector, such as Zagg invisible shield and a Flip Case. But the only flip case I can find for the Galaxy S looks horrid, and I am not sure on the texture of Zagg Invisible Shields.I have also considered silicone gel cases, but I am having trouble finding one that is nice, and pouches in combo with a screen protector.What would you use and if I did buy a screen protector, which brand should it be, I want one that will protect but with minimum difference to the feel or colour of the screen.
