Android :: Lost Keystore - Loads Of Apps?

Sep 3, 2010

WIndows did a system restore on a crash boot-up, guess what? yes, my keystore has gone now - for ever. I should have backed it up. But.... The problem is I have 20 Apps that I cannot now update in the Market as it will not accept a new key signing.

Android :: Loads Of Apps Missing In Market On New Phone

Jul 2, 2010

My wife has just got rid of her faulty X10 and moved to the X10 mini pro.

She's very frustrated as apps are just not showing up in the market. She used Bloo all the time along with AG Newspapers UK and Flood-it (game), these were 3 of the most used apps she had but when she searches the market for them it says they are not there! I have managed to get hold of the latest Bloo beta apk and installed that and it works fine.

Any ideas why these apps do not show up? the mini pro is 320x240 so it's not a resolution problem (same res as my old G1), the apps show up on my Desire (same phone network etc) the phone was unbranded/unlocked from Expansys

Android :: Lost My Apps - How To Recover

Jun 24, 2009

I lost my G1 a couple weeks ago (like an idiot) and had to buy a new one. I was able to get back all the apps I purchased before, but not some of the free ones. For example, fbook was on my old phone and it's not in the market anymore.

Does anyone have that app that they can email to me or does anyone know how I can recover my own?

Is anyone else having problems with the Market after installing or updating an app? Twice now it has FCed after I updated an app. And worse, the second time, when I went back to the Market to review my downloaded apps, it only lists Gmail and Photobucket. None of the other 15 or so apps I've downloaded are listed!

Samsung Behold 2 :: Lost All My Apps On SD

Nov 26, 2010

I'm running warheads from bh_man first off. I just got apps2sd working tonight, but shortly afterward every app I tried to install would fail install with "installation unsuccessful". After an hour of searching, I decided to clear out the dalvik-cache. Well, I did this and I was able to install apps again. I installed two apps, and I kept getting a force-close on Titanium Backup -root version. I rebooted the phone (Behold 2), and now all of my apps are gone. I've got a bunch of default android boxes, and no working apps. I checked my sd card, and all of the .apk's are still there, but they aren't in the dalvik-cache folder anymore. What's strange is that some of the apps are there, like gstrings and quick system info, but the vast majority aren't, like handcent and beautiful widgets. I don't know what I did, but I'd really like to know how to get them all back. I tried installing handcent from the market, and it says that it can't install it on my phone, so I really need to get this fixed because I really don't want to start all over again.

General :: Lost All Apps And They Can't Be Recovered

Dec 28, 2011

i have a droid incredible with verizon. I had bought a ton of apps but then I ended up breaking my phone. I just got a lg esteem from metroPCS and I can't seem to recover my apps, even though I'm using the name number...

I don't think I had a gmail account registered to my original phone either. I remembered using a hotmail account, but I'm unsure if that would sync my apps.

Is there a way I can recover all the apps I bought? Or a way that I can prove that the credit card that paid for these apps was indeed mine and recover them that way?

I tried logging in with my hotmail account and it acted like i never bought apps with that hotmail account, and it said I hadn't.

So are they recoverable using one of the ways mentioned above, or another way?

Jelly Bean :: How To Retrieve All Lost System Apps

Jan 30, 2014

I rooted my 4.2.2 jellybean Android phone and using the Root Explorer app, I transferred all my system apps to my Sd card hoping to increase my phone's internal memory. After doing that, my phone rebooted and all the phone's system apps were gone!!!!!.. like the calendar, launcher, browser, dialer, contacts, File explorer and everything else.. Now using mc pc, I was able to download a few system apps like browser.apk and tried re installing it on my phone but it won't. . .THe error was "App not installed".. I think the reason was because I have also transferred the "downloader.apk something" into my sd card that's why I was unable to download apps now.

Android :: Debugging With Different Keystore

Jan 29, 2010

I know that, to be able to sign a package with your own keystore, you have to use the export from eclipse. However, its not easy to keep doing this when you're still debugging the application. Since i have external libraries that uses another keystore and use the shareUserId, it would be reasonable to let, in eclipse plugin, you debug an application using any keystore.Any tips of how to make debugging easy with a private keystore?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Unknown Apps Causing Lost Signal / What To Do?

Dec 1, 2009

I searched and couldnt find anything.

PROBLEM: Even in areas that I know I have great Sprint coverage, my phone is not connecting to the network and I have no phone signal - "No Service". (WiFi works fine.)

This is the second time this has happened. The last time was last week - I had just installed about 5 new apps (games), rebooted the phone, and I had "No Service". I uninstalled the new apps, rebooted, and service was regained.

Tonight, I didnt install anything NEW, but a handful of apps had updates (Where, Twidroid, Voice Recorder, TWiT.tv, Depth of Field Calculator.)

Actually, now that I think of it, that was my first reboot since I installed ShopSavvy.

I'll uninstall ShopSavvy and Voice Recorder - I dont use the recorder at all - and see where that gets me. But does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only lucky one?

Android :: Distinguished Name In Keystore For Market?

Jul 19, 2010

I'm about to release an application in the Android Market. I need to generate a keystore to sign my application. The docs are a little spares on what I'm support to put into for the -dname param. Here is the line I'm using: keytool -genkey -v -alias release -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -dname "CN=mydomain.com" -keystore my.keystore -validity 10000

What is required in the -dname (Distinguished Name) field? I found out that I can include the CN field. Are there other fields that I must put in before the Market will accept the app? Any good optional ones to put in? Updated I found out I can examine other apk's by using: jarsigner -verify -verbose -certs nameof.apk

Android :: Where Does Eclipse Hide Keystore?

Aug 27, 2010

I'm surprisingly frustrated by this, and I suspect the answer is simple. I have compiled and signed my android app using the Export Wizard, as described here in the section 'Compile and sign with Eclipse ADT'. I would like to backup the keystore and have it handy for future app updates, but I can't figure out for the life of me where the keystore is saved. I of course can use Eclipse to go through the process, but if something happens to my computer I'll be pretty screwed.

Android :: Generating MD5 Fingerprint With New Keystore

Sep 23, 2010

I'm trying to generate the MD5 Fingerprint I will use with the release of my application. I used Eclipse to Compile and Sign my application, which gave me a keystore file and a .apk file. Now i need to generate the MD5 for my MapViews. I tried using the cmd prompt to generate it, but everytime it states that no such file exists. Is there somewhere special i need to be storing the keystore so the keytool has access to it? Also, once i get the MD5 fingerprint, all i have to do is insert it and re-compile and sign my application (the same way i previously did it). Am i correct on that assumption? I've read through the developer docs and I'm still unclear on the whole process.

Android :: Setting Selection To Last Item Also Loads First One

Jun 12, 2010

I'm developing application that shows thumbnails of images in gridview widget. I load HTML with image names, and set ImageAdapter. That image adapter loads single image (from internet or SD card) in AsyncTask with selected image position. After I initially download HTML with image names, and parse them to array, I set selection of GridView to index of last image. But, what happens is this : first image that gets downloaded is image with index zero. That gives me a lot of trouble because I'm using convert views and AsyncTasks, so sometimes I end up with wrong picture at first column in last row (sometimes picture with index 0 gets in there), depending on which AsyncTask gets executed first. Even stranger, I end up with around 10 calls to getView for image with index 0.Does anyone have idea how to switch GridViews position to last image, and not have image with index 0 loading?

HTC Incredible :: Sd Card Died On Rooted Froyo Phone / Lost Market & Other Apps

Aug 23, 2010

I still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.
