Just couldn't find anything regarding the purpose of android.opengl classes anywhere on the web: they seem to be copies of javax.microedition.khronos.opengles - just with static vs member methods.
So is there any special meaning in using them instead of j2me classes: are they supposed to be faster, have additional functionality, simpler to work with? I think of using them instead of passing that gl reference all the time.
I am new to the concept of ZXing,so i want to know the step by step process to use the ZXing in android and i am using eclipse as IDE.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had Eclipse running with the Android plug-in and I decided to add the Emacs plug-in. I downloaded and it worked. Then I decided to go back to the Eclipse key bindings and the Android plug-in disappeared. I could not update it, because Eclipse said it was installed, but it was not showing up in the menu.
I had to re download Eclipse, and reinstall the plug-in.
Why don't different plug-ins cooperate? I had the same issue when I tried to download the Blackberry plug-in alongside the Android plug-in (in different workspaces) and that also did not work. The only solution is to have two separate Eclipse each with a different plug-in.
As part of the Android application I am developing in eclipse, I need to combine two packages from different projects into a single project. I tried copying the files in the package of the second project under the src folder of the first folder and copied other files required for second package into the res folder of the first project. But the auto-generated Java files i.e R.java doesn't get updated on copying. I tried right clicking on the project and clicking on Android Tools -> Fix Project Properties. But nothing changed.

If they are not equal the test fails.When the test fails I would like to print out the contents of the offending array to see what went wrong. I have super access, and the permission DELETE_PACKAGE in the manifest.
But when i run Runtime.exec("pm uninstall package") I get ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10981): java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 10094 nor current process has android.permission.DELETE_PACKAGES.

If I use just one or two components from the library, will it import all the resources and packages or is it smart enough to only import the referenced resources and packages that are needed?
The alternative is to create a single 'Android Library Project' for each component which I don't want to do if I can help it.
I'm an android developer trying to use the javax.crypto package to encrypt/decrypt my SQLite database backups when I put them on the SD Card.That way, they can't be read while they're in the publicly accessible file system.I can encrypt/decrypt the file just fine, but I have no idea how to tell if the user input the right key or the wrong key. An incorrect key just returns a more jumbled file. I need a way of validating the user's password without storing it on the device (since they could be importing to another device).How can I check to see if the file has been successfully and correctly decrypted?

After I managed to pull the sucker out, my eye IMMEDIATELY caught the massive Droid X Eye we've all come to know and love.
I had no idea what it meant, or what was inside, but I immediately raced inside my house and like a kid on Christmas morning ravaged the hell out of the package to see what treasures inside awaited me!

My GMail calendar appears on my new Motorola Droid, however I can not seem to add additional calendars. In google.com/calendar, mine plus 3 others (personal, shared, not public) are visible, but on the droid:

(only 1 shows up)
click "+ Add Calendars"
I get an aparatn drop down down arror next to add calendars, which has nothing and isn't clickable. OK is greyed out and Cancel is the only thing I can do on this screen.
I cannot find any documentation that specifies the algorithms that I can specify in getInstance for Cipher. Is there any around? Specifically, I am looking for support for the RC4 cipher.
