Reading the users' feedbacks about my apps is really important, but in my phone I can only read those written in the language of my phone (Italian).Is there a way to read all of them?A program for PC or a website could be a good solution.(Actually Cyrket and AndroLib read comments directly from the market, but sometimes they don't update or are very slow).

Where exactly is your name coming from when you post a comment in the Android Market. I can't recall entering my name anywhere on the EVO where the market can pull it up from. What if I wanted to post an anonymous comment or use a pen name?

View 3 Replies View Relatedevery time I have looked at the market comments for my app over the last few days some more comments have disappeared. This is whether I look on the phone or on the developer console.Unfortunately the comments that Google has chosen to 'lose' are my most favourable comments leaving several "This app suxss" type comments by the usual Neanderthals who like to be abusive. I have checked with a helpful user who left a positive comment and they have not removed them themselves or de-installed so what is going on? It is seriously hurting my downloads/sales and the impression that potential users of my app see when they look on the market. I have emailed Google but no reply yet.

If so, what would the code for that look like if I used an EditText view to allow user input? If not, then is my only other option directly linking to my app in the Market (i.e. the user clicks the link in my app, or a button, and the Market app launches with my app page displayed)?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed lately that some app recommender programs seem to get data off the android market. I'm wondering how I could retrieve information, such as screen shots, description, developer, number of downloads, rating, etc...
I've done many searches and I haven't found any solutions. It would be nice to be able to use that info to be able to see a rating for an app inside an app chooser, for example. Or perhaps be able to track changes and rating over time and version history, etc...
Is there an API to access that information? Is there a way to parse the data from a website? Or is there a complicated hack involved?
Is anybody download the PaPi games from market and played it?
I found when I played one of this series of PaPi game and I input my name,then all series PaPi games can read this name.
At beginning, I consider maybe the application saved some data which can be shared by other PaPi games, but when I "Factory data reset" and format the SD card, then I download these games and play them again, it's so crazy that these games can read my name which I inputed before all the same!!
next, I consider maybe the application read the only code of the phone (IMEI) to identify the phone,but I check the install information about all the PaPi games, I can't found any information about "READ PHONE STATE",so I think these applications didn't read the IMEI code. who can tell me how to achieve this function?!

Starting Tuesday, the comments are displayed in the same area as the articles, causing everything to be unreadable. (In CNN articles you have to click on Show Comments before the comments are loaded. But in listverse they are always there.)
I have Android 2.3.7 on an HTC Inspire phone. I'm using the stock browser.
P.S. These articles etc. look okay on a Windows7 computer. BTW, 75% of newssites that have comments, use disqus.
About one-fourth of comments for my widget on the market are "Doesn't launch" with 1-star rating. Are you guys having the same problem? I've already included the instructions at the top of app's description but doesn't help. Here are the solutions I'm thinking about but don't know how to implement them yet.
1. Having a default activity showing a help page. But this would clutter the app tray with another useless app icon. Can I hide the app icon from launcher after first launch?
2. Launch widget picker activity from the market open button. But this doesn't tell users how to add widgets later on. Is it possible to set AndroidManifest.xml to open widget picker as default activity?
I need to post some text to a remote server over HTTP, this server in turn puts these comment on a Wordpress page. I am still waiting for interface details. Is it possible to post comments directly on a Wordpress page from an Android or Java application? Links to relevant documentation, tutorials etc.

At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
I have Clear wimax at home and with a dongle. I believe that the phone is not getting the same 4G reception however I may just have it in different locations at the office. Any feedback on how well the 4G works for you?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently planning to develop an application which will allow users to share comments (similar to tweets, facebook status', etc.) which can then be viewed by other users. This is only a small part of the app, however it is the one part with which I'm having trouble with.
My issue is that I'm not sure how to go about designing this. I've read up a little about SQLite and creating databases, however I'm not sure this is the route I should be looking at. Essentially what I need is to have an area where users can select a category from a provided list, post a comment to this category and be able to view any other comments.
I finally made the jump. Rooted today, after much study, and seems to have gone well. Backed up, and ready to go with a ROM, ROM manager installed. So, after untold hours of reading and digging, I cannot come up with a ROM that I can pin down as a good, solid starting point -- or better yet, one I might stick with for a while at least. They are so many. Did much reading on the earlier Fresh RO, but keep gravitating back to the newer ones like Cyanogen, Bugles Beast, etc. But I cannot find any comprehensive talk about these Roms -- it is just scattered and piecemeal. So thought I would ask those who have actually downloaded and flashed these ROM as to their opinion. I use my phone for the basic services. I need solid phone, MSM, Market access and installation, etc. I do not need blazing speed -- much rather stability and function. Where to begin? What say folks?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have an observation concerning how Android handles scheduled events and would like any suggestions, comments, or feedback on how other developers have handled this behavior in Android. I have noticed that there does not appear to be anyway to schedule an event to happen at "regularly" scheduled times. By regularly scheduled times I mean a long-lived service/schedule that must run every "n" minutes. For instance, an application that must check the status of a web service at user specified intervals (like every 10 minutes). I have tried a writing a service to run in the background using Context.start Service, Android stops that service after a few minutes. And, there are many senior Android developers that recommend using the "alarm that starts a service" method for this type of application. My testing on Context.Start Service would tend to agree. My best results have been using an alarm to start a service, although the results are still less than stellar. I have done weeks of testing trying to get Android to run a service every 10 minutes (or even close to 10 minutes) using the "Alarm that starts a service" method. The best I can get in a 24 our period for an alarm scheduled every 10 miutes is about 75% (110 out of 144 repeating alarms). I have tried varying this interval from 1 minute to 30 minutes with the same result. I have tested on a non-rooted T-Mobile both 1.0 and 1.1 firmware. I have tested on an ADP using both 1.0 and 1.1 firmware. I have tried using "PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK" and "FULL_WAKE_LOCK" feature of the PowerManager. Nothing seems to work. Android just will not run an event consistently. I had high hopes for the repeating alarm that starts a service, but it seems Android always skips many of the scheduled alarms. I am beginning to think that "Reguarly" scheduled events is not even possible in Android. I'm looking for any comments and suggestions from developers and Android engineers.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else just hating the hardware buttons for Menu, Home, Back, and Search? I can barely one-hand with the touch screen as it is, but the hardware buttons are making me change my whole hand position to press them. Plus, the cover I have on it comes right up next to them, making them even more difficult to press.
I kind of wish they were Droid-esque touch buttons instead.
Just as the title states, the Facebook app will not load comments. An example is when I click on a picture that has comments then click on the comments button i just get a loading loop.
