Android :: Filter Rows From Cursor - Don't Show Up In ListView

Jun 12, 2010

I have a Cursor that returns rows I use with a SimpleCursorAdapter to populate a ListView. I would like to filter some of the rows so they don't get displayed in my ListView. I use the data from the rows elsewhere in my Activity so I don't want to change my SQL to filter them with a WHERE clause. What is the best way to keep a row from being displaying in my ListView? Ideally I would check a column in my row and then only add rows to the ListView that satisfy a condition.

Android :: Window Soft Input Mode Not Working Properly With ListView

Nov 9, 2010

I have a layout with a ListView that contains EditText objects that can requestFocus() when the user chooses to edit the list item. I make sure to call setSelection() on the ListView when this happens, and then have the EditText request focus and then use InputMethodManager.showSoftInput to show the soft keyboard. However, when this happens, the list view is being resized correctly, but the selected list item remains below the fold and the user has to scroll up. This is working properly on 2.2, but is failing on 2.1. Any ideas for making sure the list selection remains visible?

I believe the issue is because, unlike a TextView, the Bitmap class is not BiDi aware, so it draws the letters from left to write.

Android :: How To Access Text Settings For Item In ListView?

I am having problems figuring out how to access text settings for an item in a ListView. I setup a basic ListView in my layout: xml:<ListViewandroid:id="@android:id/list"android:textColor="#ff000000"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"android:layout_x="1px"

What I am trying to do is change the text color or font of the item that is selected in the method, onListItemClick(ListView l, View v, int position, long id). Is there a way to access and change the text font and color using the ListView or View object from this method? I traversed the methods of each class and can't seem to find one that allows for that functionality.

Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(),(var_x).getText(),Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
