I've got a G1 that is rooted and currently running Cyanogen 4.2.9.1. Here's my n00b questions. In the upper notification area how do I disable the digital clock and the battery indicator? The answer should be the same for rooted vs non-rooted so hopefully that's not an issue.

I'm looking for a small world clock digital clock widget that I can put on my home screen that would take 1-2 icon slots. In particular, it needs to be a world clock (ie: not the normal time on your phone, configurable to some other time), it needs to be a digital clock, and it would help if it supported military time format. I'd also like it to be smallish, in that it takes no more than 2 icon slots on my screen. I have a Milestone and for some ungodly reason we have all this empty space around icons in a 4x4 screen. Any help would be appreciated. The world clock on my phone is a regular dial-style analog clock, looks like it takes 2x2 icon slots, and is difficult to read. Plus, being analog, there's no way to tell AM/PM.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero since it came out, and I am actaully liking it more and more. Android is awesome, and HTC Sense is really cool. My only problem is The digital HTC clock (the white one) that looks like the old fashoined clock with weather under it is extremely laggy. For example I will turn my phone on (awake it) unlock the phone and in the upper right of the phone the time will be correct, say 4:55, then the big HTC clock will say 4:37 (usually the time is the last time since the phone was on) after 2-3 seconds it will adjust to the right time, it happens very often and happens whenever the phone goes from minute to minute. (5:15 in upper right, 5:14 on HTC clock) I have read threads about the clock being an hour off but mine is the right time and hours it is just laggy. Also it is not rooted, and when sprint sent the over the air update I downloaded that and it is still laggy and was before that. Is anyone else having this problem? turning it on and off does nothing at all, and I had to do a hard reset about 3 weeks ago and that didnt't help either.

The android widgets only show an analog clock and I can't find any widgets under HTC widgets. Nothing. At all. No widgets whatsoever... Anybody had this issue, can help me out here? Nothing fancy, no estimation of remaining battery life nor fancy eye candy. If it can show a more precise reading than the Milestone built-in one, which only decreases in 10% intervals, fine, but only if this isn't a drain on the battery. I know there are several such apps, but which do you think is the best for my needs? There are so many it's hard to try them all and choose. I just want something basic and simple which doesn't drain the battery. I tried "battery indicator" and "battery status pro"; they both do what I need, but I'm afraid they might be an additional drain on the battery.

how I can disable the roaming indicator /R over the signal strength bars? View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years, and as phones usually do, the battery life became pretty bad. It would get to 5% and then quickly die halfway through the day.
I purchased a new battery, and found it to be just as bad (supposedly). It would be down to 5% by noon without much usage, so I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and not an old battery. I'd just turn it off or try to find a charger...
It took me a few days to realize that it lasts hours past when it gets to 5%. HOURS. It reached 5% at about 1pm EST today, I used it my whole commute home on the train, made a two 5-10 minute phone calls this evening, and now past 9pm it still hasn't died.
So, it's not the battery. It's not the worst problem to have... but it would be really nice to know how much battery I have left.
Note: I rooted my phone about 1 week before I got the new battery.
I absolutely love this app! They just updated the app so that it will log what's using the battery. The app will now provide you with battery power left depicted in time by usage, for example heavy usage. I'm loving the update. Also, if you have the app log everything that's utilizing the battery, you will see a decrease in battery power. So read the tips/hints the developer included with the update before having the app log everything.

The app Battery Indicator Pro received an update that will tell you how long before your phone is fully charged so you can pull your phone from the charger right at green light/fully charged. Nobody should experience the 5% dropoff in battery power using this app. If you can't pull the phone off the charger as depicted by the app, I don't know what else to tell you.
View 35 Replies View RelatedI dunked my Moto Droid as I fell into a pool this weekend. I probably tried to boot it too soon after that happened, but now a few days later it is operational. Theres a few flecks in the screen display but otherwise I cannot notice any serious deficiencies in the interface. The one major problem I am having however is with the battery. Obviously, it got wet as well, and when the phone did become operational again, it indicated about 50% charge and went down from there as I used it. After it powered down though, when I plugged it in to charge the battery indicator showed a question mark and I can no longer charge it. The Droid will operate when plugged into a wall outlet only (not my computer). Is it possible that replacing the battery is the only necessary fix?
