I want to create a search box with the search button directly on the right of the EditText, without any spacing. Looks like the address bar on the internal Browser application. Is it possible or do I need to create it myself?

I want to be able to fire a different onClick when the user clicks the image. I have defined the onClick on the image itself in the getView() override, but how do I then get the position of the line that was clicked so I can update the record in the database to record the action?

UITabBar essentially is a battery of buttons exhibiting a TAB like behavior: every button maps to an activity. I have two solutions for this: 1. In the layout XML for every activity, I insert a <LinearLayout><Button/><Button/><Button/></LinearLayout> element. And then have a common listener class that will handle the button clicks. So, every activity will have an instance of this listener. 2. To create a custom Widget extending LinearLayout class, put all the buttons as its static members and let it handle the button clicks. Include this custom control in every screen. I am not sure which approach to follow.

From the hierarchy viewer I can see that they use a custom control for this. I'm looking for a way to achieve the same effect. I want a buttonbar on the bottom of my app with a movable selector which I can drag from left to right and back, thereby selecting the different tabs.
Can anyone give some tips on how I might achieve this? Which layout controls could I use for this purpose? I know how to create the tabs and the button bar, but I'm a bit puzzled on the sliding selector.
I recently spotted my 9 year old son searching for inappropriate stuff inside the Google Chrome app. Is it possible to restrict the browser so that when he googles certain words, it wouldn't bring out any results? I've seen programs that do that but I can't recall any of them. Oh, and he's using the original Nexus 7.

So I read through the SDK docs and I thought that calling a new activity(browser) as part of a task (myTask) will mean that activity* (browser) will close when a user closes the task (myTask) But I am left with a browser window.

can't figure out how to get the browser adress bar to display. what is the easiest way to do this or type in a web adress manually?also can the whole web adress be deleted at once or do i have to backspace each letter individually ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to develop a very specific app for my Dell Streak. I want the entire app to run landscape. The Streak has a tilt function that switches the whole OS to a landscape 800x480.
So I want to make an ADT to test in that uses an 800x480 display, but whenever I set the size I get no buttons. The Streak has a Home, Menu and Back button aswell as volume/mute and power, and I need to use some of them for my application.
I'm not worried about the tilting messing up my application. Not yet, anyway. Just need the test environment the right size and with buttons.
I know that the Eris will hide the URL address window once it loads a page. for the life of me i haven't found a quick and easy way to show it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently loaded Baked Snack 1.7 on my phone as my first custom ROM - before that I had rooted stock Froyo. I tried two Baked Snack kernels and now have KingsxKlick bfs #9.
So I have all these variables and now I have a weird problem - my address book is force-closing on me every time I try to create a new contact. I haven't created a new contact in awhile, so I have no idea whether this could be related to my new ROM or kernel, or if it's a problem with the address book itself. I have had no other problems since installing the ROM and kernel.
I can input the new number for the contact, but when I try to name the contact it says it has encountered an error and needs to stop. This is the stock HTC People app, and I have tried it creating the contact as a regular phone contact and as a Google contact. No dice.
I've also tried a battery pull, clearing cache, the basics.
Any thoughts, guys? I met a cute boy and I REALLY need to save his number.
Was typing an address into browser today, and had one number left when the X just locked up. I mean hard lock. Didn't respond to touch or the power button or home button. Finally had to pull the battery and power it back on. No issue since then, but with Moto's Razr and V60 screen issues, I'm hoping this won't be a problem.

Had a few places (hotel, boat cruise, wineries, Santa Barbara Mission, some restaurants, that taco stand Julia Child made famous, etc.), and just created a contact for each. No inputting on phone or using voice, it's already done.Had concert @ Hollywood Bowl. They have shuttle service at some offsite locations like the LA Zoo or in Studio City. I just create a group called Concerts, and copy and paste address from website.Meeting friend at bar never been to? Already have a Group called Bars. Just copy and paste address, and your done.I have groups for everything. Family, San Francisco, San Diego friends, Hotels, Bars, sporting venues, whatever. I cross link whenever I can, Just hit People and slide over to Groups. The whole goal for me is just to hit buttons, and not have to input anything when I'm on run. Use it like AppBrain. So much easier to manage everything from Google contacts page. Just copy and paste eveything.Best part is, can delete or add anytime.Also saves me battery since doing stuff on computer, and everything is synced automatically.

How do i create a message box that says Connection failed "this application requires network access to work" and in the message box you click Settings or canceled. The same message box you get when you try to use the browser with no Internet connection. Street and Number, Floor and Department number
Town, zip code
State
Country
Example;
Av. Whatever 12345, Floor 5-A
Buenos Aires 1007
Argentina
When clicking on the address the GPS of my wish opens , finds the country, city but not the street because of the additional Floor and department information. Without this additional information everything well with Google Maps or Sygic.
So, how should i add this additional Floor and department information to my address without the GPS has problems to find the main location.Also from ICS on there is only one filed to add the whole address not as with Gingerbread where you had a field for street, city, etc.
Two simple questions:
How do you delete bookmarks of the browser? How do you create a pause in the speed dial for voice mail?
I tried to do a search but it's a needle in a haystack. Sometimes I'll get a text containing a link but it gets split up into a second text rendering the link broken. Is this an Android issues or a Messaging app issue?

I see another post on this but no answer, the address book only gives one line of the address is then any way round this? Even my first pda a Psion 3 had the option of which fields to display etc. there seems very little option to format what is seen, not that I am unhappy about the rest but to have to edit to see all the address is barmy.
Another thing way back then that still is not found is search all fields of the contacts, i.e. to find a number of someone that rang on another phone.

It will be notification popup, but sometimes text is too long (I draw text canvas.drawText()), and I need to split it and draw in few lines in rows. Anyone knows a good solution? I saw methods mPaint.measureText() or TextUtils . split () , but it isn't so good in my case. Is there other method?

I would like to split up the CurrentString using the : as the delimiter. Actually I am storing video into file and I would like to create chunks from the same file while recording. The following method was supposed to read blocks of bytes from file:
