While watching music videos on youtube for about a few minutes my phone rebooted by itself. Usually happens when videos are being buffered. Also happened once while I was talking on the phone and it rebooted again (call was dropped right away). Very irritating as you have to wait a couple of minutes for the phone to reboot. how to fix this problem or is this a android 2.1 glich that has not been addressed yet?

I just updated my Legend, it said it was to do with the camera. It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

I have a Wi-Fi router D-Link Dir-615. My HTC Legend recognize the router but after enterring the key to unlock the connection, it fails to connect. 2 PC are connected and the HTC touch of my wife too, and all three work fine.

I am pleased with the Legend, but at times things come up that confuse me somewhat. Recently a friend and I were taking photos and I thought it would be interesting to compare camera quality of her BB Curve 8900 with my HTC Legend. Below are the photos.

Is it just me or is something wrong here? (Forgive me naivety!) Also, could it be that I need to fine tune some settings or something? I hope somehow I can improve these shots.. the Legend's assumed superior camera was one of its main attractive characteristics for me!

I wanted to pair it with my new Legend, but for some reason when I press Scan for devices in the Bluetooth setup, my PC shows up, my neighbor's Nokia shows up, but the headset never appears. I thought that Bluetooth devices were pretty universal; shouldn't my Legend see this headset and pair with it without problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn every phone i have had for many years now, pushing any of the buttons whilst the phone's screen is off activates the screen briefly (usually just showing the clock or prompting for the screen unlock). This is both useful for ensuring the phone is switched on but is just as useful for ensuring the phone is switched off (night, meetings, flights, cinema etc).
The only way of activating the screen to check the Legend's on/off status appears to be to push the power button. However, if the phone is off, this simply switches the phone on! This strikes me as being a completely daft design decision.
So, is there any way of checking that a Legend is off without switching it on and then off again?
(Yes, i know there are silent, flight safe, meeting and other modes...)
My Droid incredible spontaneously restarts several times per day. It occurs when I'm not using it and I notice it turns off and then reboots. Yesterday this occured several times and I needed to "pull the battery." This seemed to improve the problem but today it just happened again. Is this related to some software glitch or do I have bad hardware?

I'm testing an android application with a long running service. I'm using Eclipse and have the usb cord hooked up with the phone sitting next to me. Since it's a long ongoing service, I do some other work while it runs and check the logcat logs every once in a while to make sure everything is going as expected.
A few minutes ago I noticed the phone rebooting. I think it's done this before as it would explain some weird application behavior. I quickly switched over to Eclipse to see what happened and found that the logcat log was (it seems) cleared during the reboot. So there's no log of whether my app crashed (and took down the phone?!) or if there was some other problem that took down the phone and my app.
Is there anyway I can find out what happened? This is a development phone, so I don't know if it reboots/crashes often on its own, or only while my app is running. It's a Motorola Droid running Firmware version 2.1-update1.
I have an HTC Hero200 that my tenant threw into the pool. I recovered the phone after about an hour or so and figured it was trash. Several hours later it lit up with HTC on the phone. I figured WTH and pulled the battery and left it to dry out. I put it in a bag of rice and left it for several days. I took it apart and wiped the screen, window, and all connectors with alcohol and let it sit open for several hours. When I power it up, it says HTC and every once in a while it briefly shows a butterfly on the display for a few seconds and then reboots.
I am not an android user, but in searching the web figured out how to get it to boot using the power button and volume key. When it comes up is says touch panel fail. When I go th HBoot Mode, it says "no image or wrong image" for all the files it scrolls through. Is it possible for me to recover this phone and use it for a media player and camera?
I have a SharedPreference that I need to reset itself to its initial value after the phone reboots... any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.1 I have been experiencing random reboots - recently 3 in the space of a few hours. I think I have traced the culprit. The reboots seem to have stopped since uninstalling Newsrob. A quick Google on random reboots Newsrob reveals reports of similar problems on HTC sense phones which the author believes to be due to bug in sense. Just reporting it here to prevent others tearing their hair out as I was and blaming 2.1 for being buggy.

No correlation between Apps that I can see, and the service provider (Inland Cellular) hasn't heard of this problem yet.

I get about 4+ a day almost always when its just sitting on my desk, and usually not being charged.
I live in an area with only 1 bar reception from anywhere between -94 to -100.
I'm curious to see how many of you out there are experiencing the same problem.
Received the Incredible today. When I was setting it up the phone it rebooted a couple of times that seemed random to me, but I thought maybe that was part of the setup process. After using for several hours the phone continues to reboot randomly. As an example: I was waiting on a video to load form youtube and the screen went blank and went into reboot. Once I pressed the power key to bring the phone back from sleep mode and it went to what looked like an OS screen with three or four choices to reboot or shutdown the phone. As a side note, the battery was fully charged before I went through setup. Not sure what's going on here.
