How can I tell what has and has not bee downloaded? I see options to add to my download queue subscribe...but no option to see what's in the queue or manage what's been downloaded.

Installed Google Listen to manage my podcast. It appears that some podcasts get stuck in a download loop and NEVER stop unless you kill the app.
Destroys battery life.
If you had this happen with Google Listen and found a solution please post.
Store or stream? Combination of both? I'll probably transfer some of my music to the SD card but I'm mostly going to stream it. Pandora seems to always know what's on my mind or what I like. I also got an mSpot beta invite courtesy of Phandroid so I'll sync my iTunes to my mSpot account and stream it. mSpot is really great. If anyone has else is in the mSpot beta take their survey, they'll give you an extra 2 gigs of space making it a total of 4 gigs for free.
View 32 Replies View RelatedI use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched around for an answer to these two issues, but haven't been able to find anything. After doing the manual upgrade to 2.1 OTA, most everything is fine. However, Google Voice and Google Listen are having issues. Google Voice is giving me a Force Close message every time I receive a text message in Hand cent SMS (to my non-GV number). I don't actually use GV on my voice all that often. Google Listen seems to have lost all trace of any of my pod casts, including new ones that have come in since the update. Every episode on every pod cast has, just under the title: "Error (sd card/com.goggle.android.apps.listen/downloads/e55bee71)" The string of letters and numbers on each one is different. I used Astor File Manager to look in this folder and each of those files is not there. Some of these folders were downloaded a month ago (I'm a little slow in getting to some pod casts) and some I have listened to already pre update but still getting the error now. Some that I have listened to are not giving the error. And any that were downloaded after the update are giving the error.

I've given Google Listen a go as my podcast app, but it seems buggy and not very intuitive to use. So I'd like to try something different. I'd like sync with Google Reader tho not essential, also need an app that has the option to download over wifi only.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a BIG fan of Google Listen, until one of their updates just started f**king up everything! I posted my concern on their discussion group (Discussions - listen-discuss | Google Groups), but I'm not sure that official channel is actually answering ANY questions. The replies are more users saying they have the same problem.
Can I get support (or answers) here or should I just stick to their discussion group?
Here are some of my concerns:
I can't fast forward or rewind anymore. If I try to move the timeline the podcast starts over.
A lot of the time I get an error along the line that it can't play the file. So; it no longer plays while streaming. I have to wait until I get a full download.
When I use my bluetooth headset to start/stop a song, it messes with the Music app. I can't disable this option without disabling it for Music.
I'm running their latest version (v1.1.3b) on my Motoroloa Droid FRG22D. I think I saw these issues when I had Android 2.1.
I am coming from iPod Touch's native app, so that is what I have to compare it to. What I am looking for is an app that can subscribe to my podcasts, download them automatically as new episodes become available (or notify me if one is available to stream), delete them when listened to (if downloaded and not streamed) and remember my playback position if I have to do something else for a bit. Which app is better for these things?
Also, does either have a feature where it will only download the latest episodes when in WiFi range only, to save on bandwidth usage? And, is there an option on either to press a single button to have it go see if there are any new episodes of my subscribed podcasts (like the "refresh" in iTunes)?
I like to se Google Listen to download my podcasts. I am having problems with a couple of things. The first is how do I manually put in feeds? I subscribed to Cranky Geeks but it is not updating properly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am seeing a very annoying problem with Google Listen on Android (I think this behavior has started since the most recent update a couple of weeks back, but I am not sure)I am using the Nexus One (Android v 2.1)
1. Start Google Listen, using the wired headset.
2. Start listening to some podcast
3. Press the play/pause button from the headset
4. With the old version of Listen, the podcast would be paused.
When you pressed the button again, the podcast playback would resume. This was very nice. However, now - when I press play/pause from the headset the music player starts up. Sometimes, the podcast stops when music player starts up, sometimes it continues to play. Sometimes I get weird error messages on listen. This is really annoying.
I love the new feature in Listen that allows it to sync with Reader to manage podcast subscriptions...or at least I love the idea of it. Since updating Listen and using it for many days now, I have seen nothing regarding my podcast subscriptions popping up in my Reader account. How can I fix this? Is there something I'm missing?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus One and while using Google Listen to listen to podcasts my screen lock will go into effect. Unfortunately, when this happens, the podcast audio pauses. I can set the screen timeout to a maximum of 30 minutes but some of the podcasts are longer than that.
Is there anyway to have Listen suspend the screen timeout while it is running?
Listen allows me to logon and all that good stuff, my problem is different. I can search and subscribe to episodes however they never download, they are always in the queue. I can try the refresh option but it doesn't help. So far in a month I downloaded one podcast.

Just a simple search in the app and it cant locate half the things I used to listen to on my iphone. I've never been one to keep a very neat & tidy Google contact book (though, I guess it's about time to start), so I'm noticing that now that I've synced my phone with my Google account, I have TONS upon TONS of contacts -- many of which I don't even want in my phone. Obviously, the phone has added my G mail contacts. So now, as I'm adding everyone's phone numbers (something I never kept in G mail), I'm added it to their Google Contacts listing. Is that the best way to do it? I've read a few posts about the topic and I see a lot from people who are previous smart phone users, but what about us newbies? So my question: Is there a way to make it so Google syncs everything *but* my Google Address Book, allowing me to only have my phone's contact list? What about hiding some contacts? If not, what are your suggestions for managing your Google contacts.

Today I downloaded the BBC Podcast app that links with Google Listen and decided to have a little play around with it whilst in work. I have been listening to BBC's 606 Football Phone in for about half an hour now and my 3G Data Usage Watchdog has not budged..........Now before I get excited and start listening to Podcasts all day....does anybody know a reason as to why my data is not being used?
I added the podcast to a "Queue" does this have anything to do with it? I havent downloaded the podcast!
So, I switched over to android from an iphone when the S5 came out - partially because I loath apple, partially because it seemed like(and is) an awesome phone.
However, I'm having one minor issue with it, and that's music management. Currently I'm just using the google play app, but my issue with THAT is I'd prefer to keep all my music ON the device so that I don't use data just to listen to music(Yes, it does cache it, but still). I've been putting my favorite albums as "keep on device", but the biggest issue is I have a LOT of music, and I don't want to have to go through every album and click the pin.
So,is there a way to make it so the play app uses "store on device" as the default? are there any other programs/apps to manage music on android similar to itunes?
After installing a new rom I checked the 'keep my phone backed up with google' check box and it started installing apps that I hadn't used for ages. Now I dont want these apps so I reflashed and didnt tick the box but my question is, is there a way to view a list of the apps that are backed up and possible delete some of them from the computer?
If not, what is a way to manage these? Im guessing that I could start with a fresh rom, let it install the backed up apps, then manually uninstall them and let it sync back again - would that work?
Has anyone been able to play music from your phone on the music player using Google Voice Actions?
I find it alwasy wants to find streaming music and does not search my music that is onboard.
When using torrent-fu, does the computer (doing the downloading) have to be on? Or can I just use torrent-fu to find torrents when I'm at work, queue them up, and when I get home turn the computer on and it'll start the downloads?

Each item is just a string. I need to maintain a todo list -- high priority items are added to the beginning of the queue. and low priority items are append to the end.
I am queuing up a bunch of runnables into a thread via a Handler.post(). I would like the ability to send a note to that thread that it should pause. By pause I mean, finish the runnable or message you are currently working on, but don't go to the next message or runnable in your message queue until I tell you to continue.

I'm working on a board game and I'm sending status messages back to the user with this wrapper function I created for Toast:

The problem is I've made the flow of game play so simple I can now play it so fast Toast messages queue up, even to the point where they continue to show on the desktop after I quit out of the game. t.cancel() doesn't seem to cancel out the previous message, anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
I know there is a Google Checkout API, but that seems it is more for creating a shopping cart, and interfacing payment methods w/ Google Checkout. Is there any management tool that allows one to 'easily' communicate with the customers? Automate a thank you message, or something?
In addition we have already had one customer call to say he had multiple $1.00 charges for our $0.99 app.

This does not seem right, especially if someone is buying more expensive applications, or using a one time use card.
