The code to know the device id (*#*#8255#*#*)is not showing jid or the details that are required for apk downloader.
I have searched most of the places but couldn't find a solution, the problem is that the GTalk service monitor screen shows 'aid' and a couple of other texts but no device id or the registered email is shown.
In the past the code has worked for me but this time only developers know whats happening. I am very eagerly waiting to download new apps from the store but this hurdle has got me for now.
I have a rooted Nexus s on 4.1.2
I am wondering if there is an app that can power off my device when battery drops to a certain level. Tasker's shutdown task not seems working for me.
How do I get the device (G1, magic, i7500, etc) programmically, as well as the version of the android platform (1.0, 1.1, 1.5, etc)...
Especially how do I tell an ADP1 and a G1 appart on the device (programically!)...
I have an activity. It does not have a title bar. The content view is just a linear layout. It looks like android draws a drop shadow at the top of my content view, directly below the status bar. Is there a way to stop that from being drawn?
My layout is just:
I have no titlebar:
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE);
Every time that I want to do a Layout, I'm getting a black layout preview then I can drop stuff on it, that's ok, but how can I change the size of that blank surface (xml). The question came because I set a folder layout-large and then when I add a new layout.xml to that folder it came with the same size, as a layout-normal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a simple appWidget that displays an image. The image is selected in the configuration activity and the widget is updated via the remove view. This is done on a button push executing the code below:
Intent intent = new Intent(context, KidDialog.class);
intent.setData(selectedImage);
PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, intent, 0);
widgetView.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.centerBrd, pendingIntent);
widgetView.setImageViewUri(R.id.widImg, selectedImage);
appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetId, widgetView);
Intent resultValue = new Intent();
resultValue.putExtra(AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID, appWidgetId);
setResult(RESULT_OK, resultValue);
finish();`
As you can see, it is also seeing an PendingIntent for the onClickListener of the image. I don't think that is relevant here. Anyway, this work great. The widget does exactly what I want it to. Until I restart the device. When I restart the widget loads with the default view from the xml in the apk. It does not keep the image update from the initial configuration. My questions is how do I get the widget to load back up after a restart with the updated view set during the configuration activity? I will also need to reset the onClick Pendingintent, but I will save that for later.
How can i get the default orientation of a Android device.DROID has portrait as the default orientation whereas many of the android tablets have landscape as the default orientation. I want to determine the default orientation of a android device through an OS call and this orientation should be independent of the device position/ rotation.I will be of great help if somebody can suggest a mechanism to achieve the same.
View 11 Replies View RelatedYou know that layout editor in the Android ADT plugin that lets you design the layout for ADP1, ADP2 and Nexus One, has anyone created other device configurations? It requires device information such as the x-dpi and y-dpi, which can be difficult to find out. I'm just wondering if anybody has added more device configurations they're willing to share? Perhaps together we could compile a huge devices.xml containing many of the devices out there. I'm fully aware the layout editor has many faults and cannot be relied upon but it is sometimes useful to rapidly preview how the layout might look on a wide variety of devices without switching between emulators.

How can I set the virtual device in Eclipse to be used by default or even specifically for my project? In the properties I can only set the API level. I also couldn't find any information in the command line tool documentation to set this manually.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy app uses a custom View that does a lot of text drawing.To ensure my text is always readable I've been using the result of calling getTextSize() on a newly-created Paint() instance as the minimum size. Docs say calling 'new Paint()' sets attributes like text size to default values.One of my European users just got a Motorola Milestone phone and reports that some text is unreadably small.I believe I've duplicated this using the WVGA854 skin in a 2.1 emulator.Run in that emulator my app's smallest TextViews look fine, but the text I'm drawing myself using Paint instances where I haven't changed the text size from the default is too small. I confirmed this by commenting out all setTextSize() calls in my View subclass: the text becomes too small to read comfortably.

While developing for Android, I am unable to open more than one main.xml file in an Eclipse editor at a time.Each time I open one, it simply replaces the editor (tab) of the first main.xml with the new one, instead of opening a new tab - even if the contents of the existing tab were unsaved.Even stranger, I can open multiple main.xml files from different projects with no problems.This only happens when they're within the same project.

Is it possible to build a GridView object in XML with 3 columns and 4 rows of Image buttons? It doesn't seem to have similar containment relationship like LinearLayout or RelativeLayout viewgroups.
I want to do this entirely in an xml layout file. When I put ImageButton xml tags inside a GridView xml body, The layout panel in eclipse is throwing an exception: UnsupportedOperationException:addView(View, LayoutParams) is not supported in AdapterView.

I am using eclipse 3.5 with the ADT plugin.when I view layout xml files, i get two tabs in the view the source code view and a graphical view.the graphical view almost never works for any of my layouts.it usually shows "NullPointerException: null" at the top and nothing else. when it does work, it often does not match what i get in the simulator or device.it seems like this thing simply is not ready for prime time; although the idea is very cool.has anyone else had much success with it?

I've successfully created a countdown kitchen timer activity, however my goal is to have an activity that has 3 timers on it that all work independently. I created a separate layout just for the timer itself and moved the timer code into a class and I've used layoutinflater to create the views and then added them into the linear layout for the activity. I get the layouts fine, however there's no functionality. There doesn't seem to be anything that ties the class code to the activity. How should I approach this? Can anyone point me to some working example code?
