I'm using a default Eclipse project file generated for my Android application, and I want to keep it in a targets/ directory (along with other eclipse-specific files) in order to better organize my project structure (I also plan on adding a target for NetBeans).

Is it possible to have an AndroidManifest.xml and or resource files in a Jar file and import that into a executable Android project?
My goal is to provide styles, resources, and services from a jar library that can be accessed from a main android project for my common tools.

I am running CentOS 5.5 x86_64 with JDK 1.6, Eclipse Galileo, and the 0.9.7 ADT is installed; however, after installation, the Android project type is not available. I have checked in the installed packages list and it is installed. Anybody encounter this problem before? Could it be due to my use of the 64-bit java VM that is installed on my system?

Somethings I'll have an? .xml file selected when I compile a project, only to have a? .out.xml generated. Deleting the file doesn't clear the error, and Eclipse won't compile the project. It just reports that your project contains errors. The solution is to go to Project/Clean. This will clear the error in the project and allow it to compile.

While trying to create a new Android Project., Get a error - An SDK Target must be specified. The documentation states that - "Under Target, select an Android target to be used as the project's Build Target. The Build Target specifies which Android platform you'd like your application built against." However in my case The Build Target section of the open dialog does not contain any text field or select dropdown, so I am not able to specify anything.

I want to create a stub of one of my Activities, but I want to keep it in the test project so not to have it in the actual apk. I don't seem to be able to find a way to do it though. I get this:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to resolve activity for: Intent { act=android.intent.action.MAIN flg=0x10000000 cmp=com.example.test.StubActivity }
I did find if I put it in the main project and put it in the manifest accordingly (IntentFilter:(Action:Main, Category:Default)) it will work, well it actually crashed, but I am not bothered by that. Something to fix later on.I did think about putting everything in the same main project and just have a test package, but that would then involve messing the manifest, I think. It seems better to keep them separate. It's just cleaner.

I followed the instructions here on how to create an Android library project, and use it in an Android application:
http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/eclipse-adt.html
But it is not working. I can see the library project is added to my application but I cannot reference anything in it because it won't build. The R.java file from the lib is NOT being added to my application project, so the lib project contains tons of errors, everywhere it tries to reference it's own R.java file.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but in the console there are messages stating that the there is "No resource identifier found for attribute 'X' in package 'Lib Package'. My library package has a a few styleable attributes defined for a custom view I made, all of which are being complained about in this console message. The library builds just fine, and I don't get those messages in the console until I hook the library to my application, so I don't know what's up with this.

I want a chmreader executable file to be used in android application. Now whenever I tried to execute it from adb shell, it gives error "permission denied". Now, whenever I use "su" it just executes the file, but doesn't do anything. And whenever I give the argument as the path of the file to be read, "# su /sdcard/extract_chmLib /sdcard/docs/HArdcore.chm" it shows "su: exec failed for /sdcard/docs/HArdcore.chm Error:Permission denied" where "/sdcard/extract_chmLib" is the executable file and "/sdcard/docs/HArdcore.chm" is the chm file to be read.

Just a few days working on Android, but... I don't see this to be "normal" (well, the Dalvik isn't but that's another subject... xD)
when i try to create a new XML file (for a layout) from eclipse, using the android plugin, it shows up a window saying "Problem Opening Wizard - The selected wizard could not be started", and the error comes to show:
"The selected wizard could not be started. Plug-in com.android.ide.eclipse.adt was unable to load class com.android.ide.eclipse.editors.wizards.NewXmlFileWizard. com.android.ide.eclipse.editors.wizards.NewXmlFileWizard"
Ok, I see the error is something missing (or failing) in the plugin...

I tried to build test library and test app with latest ADT and Eclispe however Eclipse complains on each reference I made to library classes from my test app. This is what I did:
1. created Test Library Android project, marked it as "Library" (package name "test.library.lib") 2. created Test App project (package "test.library.app") and set it to use Test Library 3. Test Library got LibActivity class which simply referes to lib_main.xml layout 4. I defined that activity in Test App manifest file:.............

I've installed Eclipse and the Android SDK
