Spent my morning researching and pulling the latest facts about Mobile Firefox. Turns out, it IS coming to Android (thanks to the release of Android NDK) but only after the WinMo and Maemo versions. It will support tabs, sync, HTML5, CSS, JS, SVG, Flash, geolocation, and a bunch of other really neat stuff. Here's the post: Meet Firefox For Mobile [Video + Feature Highlights + More Info]

I prefer using Firefox over Chrome on my desktop but with my android tablet, Chrome works better than any other browser. is it possible to sync my desktop firefox bookmarks to my Chrome tablet browser?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a great software foundation based on Microsoft MVC 2, Entity Framework 4, Repositories, POCOs, Service and Control layers, C# Views, JQuery and html. Firefox pulls 100 records in 250 ms, drops it in to a template, links the data to the markup, and we sit back and drink margaritas.
Boss walks in and says he wants an iPhone app. I bet we need an Android app too.
What frameworks could we use to easily jump from our Microsoft comfort zone in to the wide, wide world of the Apple iPhone / iPad, along with a follow-up Android baby.
I imagine we could use our JSON controller methods to communicate. Is there some type of a client side JavaScript consuming app framework we could get a reasonable Website like interface re-working? They didn't like the idea of simply running the whole thing in Safari, which works pretty well.
Needs:
Send and receive JSON objects
Some type of template engine so we can pair up objects to markup, or at least some way to separate design from programming
Something similar to JQuery would be nice
A good editor with auto-complete and highlighting, something that compares to VS2010
It took us two years to incorporate design patterns, Agile methods, and Domain Driven concepts using MVC and Javascript. We may have two or three months to re-produce the same functions.
Can anyone give me information on importing internet favorites from PC to my Droid X phone?
View 12 Replies View RelatedIt appears this hasnt been answered and I cant find a solution, can anyone please help?I am trying to Sync my firefox bookmarks on my PC with my HTC Desire, I choose the option in Sync 3.0 it says completed but nothing is added?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere was a thread a little while back in the App forum about this, but I figured I'd mention it here. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2780/With that addon, firefox will generate a QR code of the webpage you are currently viewing that can be scanned by our phones (using Shop Savvy, Barcode Scanner, etc). This will of course take you to that webpage on your phone's browser without typing a thing! What better way to be reading these forums, mother nature calls, and you simply scan the code and continue browsing these forums with your Incredible in the bathroom! I'm sure you all can think of more productive uses for this, but yeah

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo when I save an image from Firefox it saves to a downloads folder on my sd card yet the normal internet app saves it to the phone (gallery). I can only view those pictures saved from Firefox through firefox. How do I get them to save to my phone/gallery?

Some websites require to use Firefox and install JAVA or plugins to play movies. But when I use Chrome to open these webs and click on the guided link to download JAVA, it told me that there is no suitable version yet.
When I use Firefox to open these webs, it said there are no plugins, and didn't tell me what plugins. But I can open these movies on webs using android 3.1 or lower.
So, is it because ICS 4.0.3 hasn't supported to open webs which require JAVA or there are other ways to open these movies?
as the thread says. Best way to transfer bookmarks to firefox?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMay seem a basic question but I would like to access my company's website which requires a username and password.
The website works on Iphone but not on Blackberry's or Nokia E63. I have tried a SGS in the shop and it came up with an error message.
Spoke with my IT dept and they said the site is only designed to work with Internet Explorer and Firefox. Apples Safari it works with but has some issues on certain rendering etc.
So the question is can Internet Explorer or Firefox be run as the Internet browser on this phone rather than the Google Chrome or whatever it has at present?
I use Firefox on my PC, and Dolphin on my Fascinate.
Is there any way to easily get my Firefox bookmarks into Dolphin?
I recently purchased the HP Slate 21, All in One Desktop-Tablet and I have the pre installed apps. When I try to use chrome, it crashes upen exec the same with firefox?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirefox flash video seems to be broken, while dolphin's still works on 4.4. Any way around this while still using Firefox? I thought Firefox had flash built into it, but I guess not. This guide no longer works: URL....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Nexus 4 running Jelly Bean 4.3, as many of you know it comes with Chrome as the main browser. I was able to receive website URLs from other NFC capable devices and they would open on Chrome as expected.
I then installed Firefox and now when I receive a URL through NFC they are opening on Firefox and not Chrome. I've looked everywhere to find a way to specify that it should use Chrome and not Firefox but can't find it. As I said, this is just after I installed Firefox, it didn't prompt me to choose which browser to use so it's not that I accidentally say always use Firefox for that action. If I go Settings -> Apps -> Firefox, under 'Launch by Default' there's nothing set.
i just got my GNexus a few days ago and im totally back into the android scene already! Gots me some AOSP rom on it and root :P
Anyways, i tried out firefox / fennec now that my phone should be quick enough to use it properly (unlike my G1 ) and i realized it doesnt support flash. So according to mozilla wiki, it is only supported on 2.3, and on a bugreport i read that it isnt planned to be supported on 3.0 / 4.0, due to adobe dropping support on flash.
Anyways, i am wondering how hard it would be to get ICS supported for flash on firefox? I tried putting the flashlib in the plugin folder of aurora, etc. didnt work of course, since it's a problem in the sourcecode.
I realised that on youtube, flash seems to work! It doesnt actually display a flash missing warning or anything like that, on all the other sites. So i was wondering if that is actually a flash implementation or a custom youtube player by mozilla right there? I don't have an IDE with all the fennec stuff set up, so i can't check on that.
I installed firefox mobile (alpha version) just to test it out, but I can't for the sake of it find it on the phone. Tried install it again and it says it was successful. Still nothing, and I find nothing when I try to uninstall it. The phone says it got 56MB left of internal storage. Have I just spent a great deal of the internal memory installing a "ghost app", and how can I get rid of it in that case? I don't have that many apps on the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust thought I'd make you aware of a add-on for the firefox web browser on the PC that I find really useful for my Android phone. It's called MobileBarcoder 0.2.0 and you can get it by going to Tools>Add-ons on your firefox web browser. The program creates a Barcode that you can scan with your android phone if you hover the mouse over it's icon (created in the bottom right corner of the firefox web browser) When you use Barcode scanner on your android phone, you can then scan the Barcode on the screen and your own android phone will go to that site.(useful if you prefer to surf on the pc for programs and files for your android phone and directly download to your phone in one click rather than trying to write a web address into your phone)
