I am trying to do something similar to the "SpeechSynthesis Data" app in the market. After installation it automagically starts itself, downloads the speech data to the sdcard, then uninstalls itself.
Does anyone know how you can have an app automatically start after installation? I can't find any info on that.

I normally copy apk files of my needed applications to external SD in a folder, its really difficult to install all of them manually. Is there any app which can automate this process?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my Dinc and got skyraider 2.5.2 with full backup through titanium and nandroid.
Here are my questions.
1) Is there a way to transfer the exact status of my previous contact to my new rom? I've linked and synced all my contacts with facebook and stuffs and it looks like all those links have been disconnected. I don't want to link again manually.
2) Why does titanium not backup SMS? I've restored my titanium backup and none of my SMS got restored. Luckly I've used SMS Backup & Restore to backup, so that's not a problem, but I was wondering if I'm misssing something in titanium.
3) When I'm restoring apps with titanium, I have to keep giving permissions to install apps (clicking install button). I have around 80 apps, and I would much prefer if it's automatic without asking for my permission. Is there a way to do that?
I have a device management application, which essentially runs as a service in the background from boot. I'd like to start this application immediately after installation.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo over the past few days the apps ive tried to download dont even start to download, I then turn my phone off and back on again and they start to download, then start to install, but just as i think its done i get a notification saying ''Installation unsuccessful''.
I have 14MB of phone memory left so ive constantly got the low on space icon in the notification bar but i have ample space for the certain apps i wish to download. Have i without realising fiddled with a certain setting or something?
Is there a way of telling the phone with apps (not necessary for the proper functioning of the phone) start at start-up and which don't? I hate for unnecessary apps to auto start.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I run any application from Eclipse on my real G1 device (a retail one, this is not a dev phone), I am granted the READ_PHONE_STATE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE even if i don't declare them in the AndroidManisfest.xml. I actually can call TelephonyManager.getDeviceID () to retrieve the IMEI and I see these permissions in Settings -> Applications. I don't have this behavior in the emulator. I am very impressed with Swype and just amazed that it is able to correctly guess what I am trying to type most of the time. But I have a question. What is the correct way to add a period? It seems that when i first started using it, if I used a period it would automatically add a space and capitalize the next word. But it doesn't do that now. I get no space or capitalization and have to add the space manually.

I'm trying to create a "registration on my application" activity with only the user having to insert his name and email.
I want to add this values to my server database. Which is already working fine, The user inserts the name and email and android sends a http request to a php on my server and the php inserts this values in the database.
The thing is.. I'd like this to happen only once and by this I mean if the user has registed with that cellphone the device would remember it and just go to another activity but keeping thoose 2 values available to use.
Is this possible to do? Maybe my application access the device preferences or something like that.. or should I build besides a register, a login page for the user to login and make the validation on the server side?
Anyone has any tutorial on this or something to get me started?
