Jan 23, 2010Got a Droid Eris, love Sense, don't really like the music player. Too laggy for me, I tried Mixzing, and also is too slow. Anyone else have any other players that are speedy?

Aug 20, 2010I've been using doubleTwist to sync & manage my music on my HTC EVO 4G (and Palm Pre) and I've had just about enough of its slow iTunes syncing, slow device syncing and overall clunkiness (yes, I'm a previous user of the iPod/iTunes and Zune/Zune Software systems). Though I love the doubleTwist player for Android I'm done with doubleTwist. And no I'm not interested in Salling Media Sync (especially since its not free).
If I manage things myself by manually syncing/copying music to my Android (i.e., artist/album/ folder structure under /sdcard/music/):
[1] Where do I place the playlists (in .m3u format)?: /sdcard/music/playlists OR /sdcard/music/playlist1.m3u, playlist2.m3u, etc.
[2] what Android players are compatible with this format/structure (i.e., that'll pick up the playlists just fine)?

I have a large collection on my 16g card and mixzing still likes to stick to one or two albums ... the only things i need are great random (i like to shuffle all my songs and let it play) and a album cover and forward, backward, pause buttons like mixzings ..

Oct 25, 2010what music players does everyone use and how do you sync them? i think i've got a pretty good set up with my mac. I used to use the Double twist player with double twist installed on my mac to sync with iTunes. works pretty well, just wish it had landscape on the device. then i heard about WinAmp being on the android so i switched to that. better device playlist management, plus it still works with the double twist files so i can still sync with double twist on my mac.

Nov 5, 2010I've been trying some music players and went through the threads we have here on the subject. I'm trying to figure out if some players will drain the battery faster than others. I've tried the TW Player, Winamp, MusicMod. I like MusicMod the best (I believe its a modification of the Froyo AOSP player) but it seems to drain the battery pretty fast. I've been using it for about 4 hours and went from 100% to 38%. What are your experiences with battery drain and music players?

Dec 26, 2011how can i make my songs (.mp3) to have recognizable characters at every android media player. Let me make clear to you that non-english characters (greek letters) at my songs are nearly unreadable at players. Media players play such songs normally but i can not read their IDE tags (for example: individual artist's name, album's name, e.t.c....) Every android file explorer can identify their name, (so windows 7 do) but not the android players ( i have tested almost every media player available in market, now i am using miui player with the same problem). I have HTC magic with CM7.2 and the problem is with greek letters in songs which they appear to me as chinese ones and therefore i am not able to make playlists, choose a specific song from my list...

General :: Why Won't Music Players Show Original Album Art
Aug 14, 2012Isntead, they either download from the internet, or they show the crappy scaled down version created by android! why! what's the problem! music players on iOS don't have this prolem! is my quad-core smartphone incapable of displaying a jpeg image!? Is there a way to change the compression level or something? I don't want to manually swap out every single thumbnail!
the only player that seems to do this is the Neutron music player (yea, I tried almsot every single android music player, almsot 50 of them). But Neutron MP has that crappy 2006 style theme! it's the year 2012! it looks so lame!

One thing's that disappointed me is that all my apps have disappeared. I'm having a relapse in memory and for the life of me can't remember the apps I had installed. Anyone have any good apps to recommend? Good music players, good ebook readers, etc? Games? I've read a lot of people have updated to Froyo. where is this update available to get from?

May 3, 2010Are there any video or music player apps that are capable of recognizing media on the internal storage? I know that the HTC players can do it, but I'm looking for something with a few more features. I've tried mixzing, Act 1, and cubed (aka RockOn), but they each can only see files on SD cards. There does not seem to be a way to tell the apps to look in the /emmc directory. I'm new to Android so maybe it's just a matter of developers updating their apps for the Incredible?
I was thinking, alternatively, is there a way to create a symbolic link with an app like Astro to make the files *appear* like they're on the SD card?
Android :: No Big Players
Oct 17, 2010Seeing that Android is now selling more then Iphone in some regions, why haven't we had any real big players like Tesco, Argos, Amazon release apps yet?
I know Amazon is releasing a marketplace but can we really expect to see a massive improvement over the coming months?
My birthday is coming up soon and after currently owning a Desire, I'm now thinking of getting the IPhone 4 as this seems to be getting all the major apps at the moment.

Feb 10, 2010I'm trying to diagnose an issue with the hardware keyboard for the Motorola CLIQ (among other phones with a 3-row hardware keyboard), but seeing as my device has a 4-row keyboard, it's impossible to reproduce the problem users are having. Are there any alternate keyboard layouts for the emulator out there, or will I have to roll my own? I've looked at the layout file for the skins, and it seems like a lot of work, so I wanted to make sure I'm not doing a lot of work I don't need to do first.

Sep 8, 2009The ALS allows a sim to have two phone numbers registered to it and gives the ability to the user to choose from which line (1/2) s/he wants to make a phonecall or send an sms/mms. Also allows for any of the two lines to receive calls without having to turn the one off first.
Most old school mobile phones support this feature. Does android support ALS natively and if not do we have any idea if this is a planned feature? Also would it be possible for this to be coded as an application?

Android :: Way To Get Updates For Fantasy Football Players
Sep 16, 2010I just put out a new app into the market place called Fantasy Football On the Go for all of you who play Fantasy Football. I use Yahoo, CBS, and ESPN for the leagues I am in. There is a yahoo app which is fine. But the ESPN one is 5 bucks. The intent for my app is to have a quick and easy way to get stat updates for players you are interested in when you are not at home on Sundays. The idea came to me tailgating last season when my buddies and I had no way of getting updates. The app has a custom list of players that can be modified at any time. For each player in the list my app gives the time and score of the game, their stat line, and the fantasy points scored. The app has custom scoring options so you can configure it to whatever your league settings are to get accurate score totals.I have gotten a few downloads already but I will have to wait until Sunday get real feedback. I was hoping some people would be willing to give it a try this weekend to provide any improvements, suggestions, or report any problems. And if you don�t like it for some reason then you have the 24 hour window to return.
