Android :: Align Buttons Inside TableRow

Oct 6, 2010

I'm developing an Android application.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="200px"
android:orientation="vertical">
<TextView
android:id="@+id/gameTitle"..............

I want to put playGame button in the left side of the center, and noPlayGame button in the right side of the center. Now, both appear aligned to the left of the TableRow. How can I do this?

Android :: ScrollView With Buttons Inside / No Response Until Second Click On Any Button Inside

Oct 30, 2010

I've been a couple of days trying to solve this thing but I can'f figure it out.The problem is, simple activity, with simple layout, ScrollView -> LinearLayout -> and a lot of buttons inside the layout (within the scroll content). Everything works just fine but one tricky thing. When I click a button let's say at the top of the scroll content and inmediatelly I scroll down to the bottom of the content and I click other button there, nothing happens until I click a second time and all come to normal again. This can be reproduced anytime and it's code independent (i've tried more than 20 scenarios). I've not much experience in android yet but looks like the scroll listener stops the onclick listener or something like that.

Android :: Possible To Align Buttons In A TableLayout To Different Directions

Apr 21, 2010

Probably I don't understand the layout properties of TableLayout yet. It doesn't seem to be possible to achieve such a flexible table like in HTML, because there are no cells. My target is it to achieve such a layout:

How can I do that? I thought about using a GridView but this doesn't seem to be useful in XML.
My efforts look like this....

Android :: Align Image Buttons On A Curve Programatically?

Oct 6, 2010

I have a series of buttons on a main menu. Instead of the standard side by side, or one on top of the other, I'd like them to be aligned around a semi-circle. Since I can't drag and drop the buttons to the place I'd like to in the designer, I was wondering the best way to do this? Can I do it in the XML, or would it be best to do it programatically?

Android :: Scroll View Inside Linear Layout Forces Buttons Offscreen

Nov 4, 2010

I'm trying to build an activity that has a checkbox on top, a button at the bottom, and a bunch of other widgets scrolling in between. Conceptually that'sWhen it renders I get the checkbox at the top, the stuff scrolling nicely underneath, but the Button drawn offscreen (I assume) below the ScrollView. The only way I can get the Button to be visible is to hard-code the height of the ScrollView, which of course only works on one screen-size. I've tried all combinations of gravity and layout_weight I can think of to no avail. Am I using the right combination of Views? Anybody managed to get this working?

Android :: Variable Number Of Radio Buttons In Radio Group Inside Table?

Sep 9, 2010

I currently have code that creates rows in a table that hold a string in column 1 with a RadioButton in column 2. There can be a variable number of these rows. That all works just great, but I want to add them to a RadioGroup so only one button can be toggled at a time. When I tried to add the dynamic RadioButton to the RadioGroup AFTER I added it to the table row, I got an error saying that the child (the RadioButton) already had a parent. I agree, it does have one, the TableRow.

can you have radio buttons tied to a radio group inside of a row or, should I just code my own toggle mechanism and avoid RadioGroup all together? I mean, I could code the onClick to unclick all other radio buttons, but I would rather not do this if I can use the build in RadioGroup.

<ScrollView
android:id="@+id/ScrollViewModifyGroups"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent".............

Android :: Add Radio Group To Radio Buttons Inside Of Table?

Mar 2, 2010

I have multiple radio buttons which I want to layout using a table but also include them in a single radio group. I have the following xml layout:

<RadioGroup android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:id="@+id/Group1">

<TableLayout android:id="@+id/RadioButtons"
android:layout_width="wrap_content".........

But unfortunately the radio buttons inside the table seem to ignore the fact that they're inside of the RadioGroup tags and because of this you can select more than one radio button at the time. I noticed that by removing the table and just having the radio buttons it works just fine. How can I overcome this? Would it be as simple as declaring the radio group inside of the table instead of outside?

Android :: ListView Inside LinearLayout Inside ScrollView

Jul 7, 2009

So I've been extremely frustrated by this for a long time now.I've posted before, but can't seem to find a good solution. My goal is to have something pretty much exactly like the installed application details page in the Android Market.I need a list of items displayed along with other content above the list, and would like the content above to scroll up along with the list (exactly like the application details does for the "My Review" and other descriptive info).Due to responses to my previous posts, I came to believe that it really wasn't possible to do this with a ListView. So rather than using a ListView, I refactored my code to use a simple LinearLayout and add individual View items to the list, thinking I could just set each View as clickable and add an OnClickListener to each View in the LinearLayout. That's not working at all though, and now I'm getting even more frustrated. If someone can help me get the OnClickListener working, then I think it'll work, but I do need a separator for the LinearLayout. How do I add a separator like the one used for ListView to my LinearLayout?

Android :: GetHeight() Of TextView In TableRow

Nov 27, 2009

I have an Activity in which I have a TableLayout. I fill the table with TableRows in which I display TextViews. Imagine this as a classical table with text content. After the loop is finished I want to read all the heights in pixels of all the TextView in this table. I do this with getHeight(). The problem I have now is that ALL the values are 0 (zero) pixels. Even though I have text in the TextViews. The odd thing about this is, if I read the height of the exact same TextViews in an OnClickListener () then I do get the real height of the elements. Why is that so? I mean, nothing has changed in the height of those elements in the time between filling the table and firing the OnClickListener(). I really need to be able to get the height of the TextViews right after I filled the table. To get the heights upon a click is too late already for what I want to do.

Android :: Using Tablerow - TextView In Tablelayout?

Apr 21, 2010

I am using Tablerow+TextView to make a simple view for blog posts and their replies. In each TableRow I put a TextView in. Now I have two issues:

The text which is longer than the screen won't automatically wrap up to be multi-line. Is it by design of TableRow? I've already set tr_content.setSingleLine(false); [update]

This has been addressed, I think I should change Fill_parent to be Wrap_content in

CODE:............

The Table won't scroll like ListView. My rows are more than the screen size. I expect the table could be scrolled down for viewing just like ListView. Is that possible?

Trying "getChildAt(0).getChildAt(1)" doesn't select the textview as I would have expected it to; says that it's a View and as such, doesn't have this method - though unless I'm mistaken, aren't tablerows ViewGroups, which do have this method? code...

Android :: How To Align Views At Bottom Of Screen?

Mar 5, 2010

What this looks like is on the left and what I want it to look like is on the right. The obvious answer is to set the TextView to fill_parent on height but this causes no room to be left for the button or entry field. Essentially the issue is that I want the submit button and the text entry to be a fixed height at the bottom and the text view to fill the rest of the space, similarly in the horizontal Linear layout I want the submit button to wrap its content and for the text entry to fill the rest of the space. If the first item in a Linear Layout is told to fill_parent it does exactly that, leaving no room for other items, how do I get an item which is first in a linear layout to fill all space apart from the minimum required by the rest of the items in the layout?
