Motorola Droid :: Cannot Download - File Is Not Supported On This Phone - Error

Mar 22, 2010

For some reason when I try to download a file I get this message. I don't think it should matter if it is supported or not if I want to save for use later? Using smoked glass 6.0.1 if that matters with stock browser.

Samsung I7500 :: Bugs In II4 - NPS Always Gives Me A "no File To Download Error?

Jul 14, 2010

Can someone tell me what known bugs there are with II4?

Yes I know ooooooold firmware. Thing is I've just been given a replacement Galaxy because of the dialpad bug. I had hoped they'd (o2) replace my phone with a different handset but instead they've given me a Galaxy with I7500XXII4. They say I need to have replaced the phone more often (!!!!) before they will give me a different phone. I wish I'd returned it earlier in the year when it was plagued with missed calls, random reboots and all the other bugs we had to endure before firmware fixes.

So now my only way to persuade them to replace the phone is to show them the bugs with II4. So instead of me waiting a week or two and finding the bugs myself, can anyone remember what bugs this firmware has? I have tried searching but it's too messy. I've also tried updating using NPS as I'd obviously rather not be on 1.5 but NPS always gives me a "no file to download error". So that's my first bug, help me find more so I can complain to o2!

Android :: Best Way To Download Webpage And Parse It Into Simple UI

Nov 10, 2010

I am just starting developing first app and not sure which way is the best fit for my needs. The key is to download a page source, get small part of it and display it using Android UI, with possibility to submit it later as a form action. The simplest way would be probably to ditch UI and go with WebView however I decided to parse it into UI, so no WebView for me.Currently I am trying to download page source using org.apache packages (from SDK Wiktionary simplified sample) and parse it using some regex (this will give me known incompatibilities when website changes layout but I am willing to go this way). Question is: is there a better/faster/easier way to pull the source of webpage (or part of it)? Or I will have to stick to org.apache due to the fact I want to submit a form based on user selection)? Maybe someone got a hold to more source code examples of similar app ?

But after i downloaded and installed the eclipse and android sdk again, in the after folder, i got this error message: "Failed to parse the output of 'adb version' " and can't run my application, because the emutaros that starts is not identified by the eclipse, i can't find it into "Devices" tab from eclipse. I found from the net the following http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2260118/failed-to-parse-the-output "Try closing Eclipse, issuing a 'C:UsersMohitDocumentsAndroidSDKools kill-server' command from terminal and retrying. If that still doesn't work, you could try opening Activity Monitor to see if there are any existing adb processes running, and kill them. but i am using Windows XP and i don't know how to use kill-server command from the terminal. I mean in run/cmd there are is no such a command or how can i use the second solution - to open Activity Monitor from Windows XP

APK Files Giving Parse Error?

Jul 9, 2013

I have recently gotten back into developing Android applications. However, every time I try to run an application on my phone now, I get the error message - "Parse Error - There is a problem parsing the package."

Two years ago, I used Eclipse to develop projects, which is what I'm using now. Though, I had to reinstall eclipse and everything else. So it's a new setup but I believe it's the same general setup.

I can put my old .apk files on my phone, and they work fine. If I put any newly created .apk files on my phone, I get the parse error.

I also found that if I compile any OLD projects and then copy those onto my phone, that I get the parse error.

This leads me to believe I've got something set up wrong in Eclipse that my phone isn't liking.

I thought maybe it was the virtual device manager, so I've tried several combinations of virtual devices - 1.5, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3.3 - using any of them still gives the parse error when trying to run the applications on my phone.

By the way, all of these projects work in the emulator running through Eclipse, so I know they work.

Android :: DDMS Won't Load - Or Doesn't Parse - KML File

Jun 27, 2009

I can't get DDMS to load any KML files.

I have a KML file for example with the following in it:

code:..........

The docs at http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/ddms.html seem to indicate that I only need to launch my app and fire up DDMS and load the KML. That doesn't work.

I even tried the Google Earth solution suggested at the same link.

I'm using SDK 1.5_r2. I am doing something wrong or missing something?

This binary format is not discussed in the in the documentation here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html

I want to access this information from outside the Android environment, preferably from Java.
