2.1 Update :: Contact Pictures Appears Blurred
Nov 6, 2010I had updated x10 but contact picture is bad. What to do? It is dim and dull like damaged one.

HTC Incredible :: Update Contact Pictures
May 6, 2010I couldn't find a thread in the Incredible forum, so here goes. I'm loving my phone, and I love how it pulls photos and contacts from Facebook, Gmail, etc.However, A lot of my friends are already changing their pictures, and the phone isn't updating them on my favorites, or in my actual phonebook/contact list. I know how to manually set the picture, but I want it to re-pull new photos from Facebook. Any ideas?

Jul 1, 2010I'm not sure if anyone has already figured this out but I just did it by accident a few minutes ago. If your facebook contact has changed their picture and you want to update it on your phone, go to People > Online Directory > Facebook > Click refresh. It updates everyones pictures so it may take a while if you have a lot of contacts.

Nov 14, 2010I have seen other peoples having same prob in other forums but no ones been able to find a solution though. In 1.6 it used to be blurry too unless you added them via mediascape. Tried it all again on 2.1 and still blurry. Otehrwise the updates quite good except theres no FLASH!

Sep 9, 2010I am struggling to get Bitmaps blurred using Android.
I have seen a lot of information about using a simple kernel like

My problem is that I am really not sure how to multiply this with my Bitmap in an efficient way. Should I go through every pixel and image.getPixel(x, y)
while storing those values to a new array (so I don't have to get those values over and over again) and then go through the array and for each value add up the surrounding values multiplied by the corresponding field in the kernel divided by 1068 (in the case of the above kernel (= all entries summed up))?
Is there any better way to do this? Is there a simple solution for the borders?
Or is there even something available in the Android SDK I missed?

Jul 27, 2010I synced facebook to update the contact pictures and now all the pictures are gone even my contact picture.
If i click on the contact then click link it says i have no facebook friend to link to.
HTC Desire HD :: Close Up Camera Pics Little Blurred
Nov 21, 2010Does anyone else have this issue?When I go in for a close up shot, say 20cms away, the camera focuses fine, turns green, makes a beep them shoots. All fine but when you see the preview or even go into the gallery to view the picture it is out of focus.Sometimes i have to pull back a good 50cms before it will record a focused shot. Is this the macro distance for the DHD?I know it doesn't have stabilization so I've tried this with it mounted and on timer. Still does it. But once I pull back away it behaves as it should.Hope this makes sense. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something in the settings that will eliminate this?

HTC :: Contact Pictures All Fuzzy / Blurry On EVO 4G
Jul 18, 2010I have read a few threads, but they aren't saying the evo4g is having this problem. but mine is. i imported my contacts from my outlook and all the images are coming up blurry when i receive calls and make them. also, a lot of the images on my contacts aren't even showing up on the phone, but i see them in the outlook actually it looks like the Vermeer images i was using when i had my iphone aren't loading, but regular images are. anyways, for the regular images from the outlook sync to the phone, is there a way to get them clearer?

Mar 10, 2010I have a small problem with my G1 that is driving me slightly insane. Hopefully someone has a suggestion.
If this is already covered - I couldn't find it, so please point me in the right direction.
I have my G1 sync'ing with my gmail for contacts (obviously), and a large number of my gmail contacts have pictures associated with them.
This all works fine for a while, and then... consistently... after a few days... the pictures on my contacts get messed up. They kinda swap around, and some of them seem to use random pictures which have been linked to contacts in the past, or perhaps even not at all.
I do not know whether this is getting messed up on my G1, and replicated to gmail, or the other way around, but I can't stop it happening and its massively annoying.
Any other information can be provided, but if anyone else has this problem or knows how I might fix it, it would probably save my sanity greatly.

Nov 16, 2010So I was trying to fix my calender, and I accidentally cleared the data for contact storage, rather than calender storage. Now all of my pictures for my contacts are gone. They are still associated with their Facebook accounts, but they just don't have pictures. All phone numbers and things are still there. I also get a proces.google.gapps force close sometimes. What exactly happened, and how can I fix it?

Aug 18, 2010Has anyone found a way to make your contact pictures clear for phone calls or widgets? I'm using high resolution pictures from my computer, but they're still showing up fuzzy on calls. The weird thing about the people widget is that a few of the pictures will show up clear, but the rest look horrible. Someone told me the issue was that Google compresses the pictures when they're synced with the contacts down to around 96x96, if that's the case, does anyone know if that can be changed? (I'm assuming not)

Jun 8, 2010Whenever I add a photo to a contact, then put the contact in the Favorites widget, the picture blurs/pixelizes/generally looks like crap.
I was syncing the pictures with the ones in my Gmail contacts, but I then came across this thread in the Incredible forum. However, the solution given there (manually loading the pictures on the SD card and then choosing them from the Gallery) will only work for a short time. Within a few hours, the picture in the Favorites widget goes to hell again.
I thought it might have something to do with the Google sync, but I just did a manual sync, and it didn't affect the picture at all.
My only clue is that when I go into the profile page for a contact that's in the widget, the (smaller) picture in the upper left corner looks fine. But when I go into the edit page, the picture looks terrible, like it does in the widget, until I save again. Also, if while in edit mode, I choose the contact picture from the Gallery again, the picture resets in the Favorites widget. For a while.
Since it was happening with the Incredible, it appears to be a Sense or Android issue rather than an Evo-specific one. Is it too much to ask that my friends and family look as smooth and sharp as the perky models in the sample Favorites widget?

Jul 29, 2010Since I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. However, I'm just presented with 8 silhouettes of face graphics as available "pictures" to choose from. No obvious way to go into a folder where my images are stored. Jun 17, 2010I'm delving into customizing my EVO and thoroughly enjoying it. I have so many options I just don't know what to do with myself! I do, however, need some help. I made the mistake of linking my Facebook to my contacts when I first got my EVO, so my address book was a complete melting pot of mess (Facebook friends, imported contacts from my Blackberry, and others) and it absolutely drove me up the wall. I figured out how to unsync my Facebook, and I did.I now have two problems. I imported all of my contacts from my Blackberry to my EVO and two things happened. Most of the numbers didn't come with them, and all of the pictures from my old berry did. Elsewise, this phone is still finding Facebook contacts and linking them with imported contacts. I'm going bananas.I need to find a way to mass delete the low res contact pictures from my contacts, find a way to I guess "link" or find the numbers for all of these contacts, and a way to make this beautiful phone stop putting Facebook icons and low res pics on the people in my address book.
