I am writing an Android Library Project basing on Android Bitmap class (call it AndroindLib) which contains only utility class (no activity). I tried to test it using Android JUnit, but it keeps complaining that can't find the AnroidLib.apk What's the right way to Unit test Android Library Project?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a module that builds an app called MyApp.I have another that builds some testcases for that app, called MyAppTests. They both build their own APKs, and they both work fine from within my IDE. I'd like to build them using ant so that I can take advantage of continuous integration.Building the app module works fine. I'm having difficulty getting the Test module to compile and run.I used android create test-project -p MyAppTests -m ../MyApp -n MyAppTests to create the necessary build files to build and run my test project. This seems to work great (once I remove an unnecessary test case that it constructed for me and revert my AndroidManifest.xml to the one I was using before it got replaced by android create), but I have two problems.Any idea what's causing the "Class ref in pre-verified class resolved to unexpected implementation" error?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to have two projects, one that contains production code and one that contains test code. This shouldn't necessarily be an Android-specific question, but I'm want to write some unit tests for some non-platform-specific Android code on the host PC.
I created a new Java project so I can run the unit tests on the PC and only include the non-platform-specific classes from the Android project. Both projects are opened in the same Eclipse workspace. I assume I need to somehow include these Android-project sources explicitly in the new project where I'll run the Junit tests, but I can't figure out how to do this.
I have an Android Eclipse project and an associated Android Test Eclipse project checked into a subversion repository. Given a checked out working copy, how do I bring the Android Test project into an Eclipse workspace? It's easy to add the Android project to the workspace (just File->New Project->Android Project->From Existing Source and point it at the directory in the svn working copy). But, the 'New Android Test Project' does not have an option to create from existing source.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've encountered a problem, when I run coverage with ant in my test project from another directory the report disappears, e.g. "ant -f some/dir/tests/build.xml coverage". This seems to be the cause that I cannot get reports when building through hudson.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAccording to this SDK guide, unit-testing a Library project can be achieved by creating a standard application project, reference the Library project and then instrument the application for unit testing. However, when I do this and launch the test application I get the message. No tests found with test runner 'JUnit 3".I'm using Eclipse and the Android ADT plugin, all latest versions.the projects compile just fine. The test project also installs fine to the emulator. But in the console I can see that it looks for <library>.apk, which of course doesn't exist since I'm compiling this as a library into the test project.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAn Android Java project placed in a git repository and built in an Android tree in /packages/apps needs to have the project files located at the root of the git repository. This is problematic for creating a complementary Test project, which should ideally be included in the same git repository so commits are atomic for both code and tests. Eclipse gets very unhappy if you include the Test project as a subdirectory. Is there an appropriate approach for dealing with this other than creating a second repository?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm writing an Android JUnit test and want to copy/reset a test fixture file (it's an SQLite database file.) If I were within the main application, I know I could just place the file in the assets directory and use getResources().getAssets().open(sourceFile).However, this API appears to be unavailable from the ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 class. Is there an easy way to copy a file over from the testing PC, or should I just keep a fresh copy of a test fixture on the device and copy it over a temporary file?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a project (that compiles and runs in the emulator.) I have a test project that tests part of this project. This test project also compiles with no problems, but when I try to run (test) it in the emulator, I get a NoClassDefFoundError exception on one of the classes my test class tests (I hope that made sense!) when it starts to run in the emulator. This is coming out of the adb log. I looked in the bin directory (of the test project) for the missing class, but could not find it... Should it be there? I found no reference (apk, etc) of the project I am trying to test either in the test projects bin directory. How does the test project get the classes it needs to test against (in the classpath, I assume.) How do the tested classes get moved to the emulator? I did try running the app before testing, so I know it is installed and runs correctly. BTW, I am using netbeans with the nbandroid plugin.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSomethings I'll have an? .xml file selected when I compile a project, only to have a? .out.xml generated. Deleting the file doesn't clear the error, and Eclipse won't compile the project. It just reports that your project contains errors. The solution is to go to Project/Clean. This will clear the error in the project and allow it to compile.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI can now get our Android project to talk to our non-Android project. But there's still an issue: I are trying to have an Android class call a non Android Hello World class. I tried compiling our non-Android Hello World class in a separate Eclipse workspace. I then packaged it into a jar. I imported that jar into our Android Hello World class.
I then called one of the methods in the non-Android Hello World class. When I ran the Android Hello World class as an Android application, the following runtime error occurred. Here are the Android debug logs:

I have never used JUnit before, and now I'm trying to set it up on an Android project.My project under test is fairly complex, including some JNI, but my test project, at the moment, is completely trivial. I have found many examples (that look totally different) online of how to make a test project, but it seems that no matter which one I follow, I get the same results.Here's my JUnit project code:package com.mycompany.myproject.test;
import android.test.AndroidTestCase;public class SimpleTestCaseExample extends Android TestCase {public void test_testOne() {fail("Just Always Fail");When I run, I see the following in Logcat:
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=test_testOne
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 0
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: id=InstrumentationTestRunner
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: current=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: class=com.mycompany.myproject.test.SimpleTestCaseExample
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: stream=
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=testAndroidTestCaseSetupProperly
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 1
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: id=InstrumentationTestRunner
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: current=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: class=com.mycompany.myproject.test.SimpleTestCaseExample
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: stream=.
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=testAndroidTestCaseSetupProperly
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 0
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_RESULT: stream=
stdout Test results for InstrumentationTestRunner=..
stdout Time: 0.07
stdout OK (2 tests)
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_CODE: -1
But, I get the following in the Console:Launching instrumentation android.test. Instrumentation TestRunner on device emulator-5554 Collecting test information Test run failed: No test results I have tried a variety of different things, messing with the basic TestCase class, or the TestSuite class, or a variety of other options. I tried to just go for the most trivial example because I'm really still trying to learn how this works.Whatever I try, I see this error.
I'm working on a school project and I'm researching testing possibilities for Android applications. On this page: http: // developer . android . com/ resources / tutorials /testing /hello android. Google writes about a unit test. Is this really a unit test? A Unit test will not integrate all classes and will not test in his context. So my opinion is it is not a Unit Test but an Integration Test.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have 2 android projects out of which I modified one to work as a library. I want the main project to refer to this library to perform few functions. While this scenario works just as expected, I want to introduce one more functionality. This second part however doesn't seem to work and throws "The application <appname> (<package name>) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" with a ForceClose button. View 4 Replies View RelatedI followed the instructions here on how to create an Android library project, and use it in an Android application:
http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/eclipse-adt.html
But it is not working. I can see the library project is added to my application but I cannot reference anything in it because it won't build. The R.java file from the lib is NOT being added to my application project, so the lib project contains tons of errors, everywhere it tries to reference it's own R.java file.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but in the console there are messages stating that the there is "No resource identifier found for attribute 'X' in package 'Lib Package'. My library package has a a few styleable attributes defined for a custom view I made, all of which are being complained about in this console message. The library builds just fine, and I don't get those messages in the console until I hook the library to my application, so I don't know what's up with this.
