I am with Xperia X10 and I know that there has to be an update! At least when I connect the phone to the laptop, that's what my PC Companion is telling me. But I can't go past the plug the cable and hold the back button. I tried both the companion and the update service but I can't go past the plug in and press back buttons. If I hold it for a longer period of time, the phone just turns back on!

Sony Ericsson PC Companion software noticed me of an update today, but I get this message all the time. (se added image).I even downloaded the latest version from SE.com, ran as Admin and still same problem. Now I realize the old version is gone to, and I have no longer the Companion software.Im new at SE mobiles, and Im worried that I no longer can use my mobile on this machine. As this being my only one, I got no clue on what to do.Im also worried that Ericsson will require that I fix this myself, as Im not being any software geek I will request support from Ericsson.

I bought an X10i a few months ago and I was installing PC Companion on my mothers PC when it told me there was an update to the firmware. When I came home on my own PC it told me I was up to date. I uninstalled companion and reinstalled it and was told of the update. When I try to update it goes through the first 2 steps and then tells me to unplug the USB cable from both the PC and Phone, make sure it is charged to 50%, turn off the phone for 5 seconds and plug it back into the PC and while holding the back button plug the USB cable into the phone. When I do this nothing happens the update just sits there. I've tried this with both PC companion and SEUS and then same thing happens on both. I've also tried updating from the phone but it says it's up to date. I'm in Ireland on O2 and my firmware is 1.6 and build is R1FA016.

I've got a Mini Pro and the operator is T-Mobile. T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore. Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again.

i got the update notification for xperia x10 few days back, i quickily connected it to pc using pc companion and took the backup, then i started the update process, it reached till prepared, and after that it started initialization, but here the problem started. it was showing the initialization for 4 hours,i thought may be it hanged so i stopped it and disconnected the phone and restarted the update process, same thing happened this time. the progress bar doesnt show any progress after initialization, it showed 100% in initialization after some 4 hours but after tht nothing happened.i dont knw the problem, it can't be network problem, as i have a 1mbps connection and i checked the speed also before starting the update,i kept the update process as it is for 10 hours, but it still didnt show any progress from the last time.

I checked PCC earlier because other people had successfully updated to 2.1 but it said mine was fully up-to date when I had the phone connected. In the settings, I have it set to check for updates everytime I connect the phone, and when I check for updates via the handset it says there's an update available and I should check PC Companion.I did an update anyway, even though it said my phone is fully up-to date to see if that would put 2.1 on, but it's still at 1.6.any idea why PCC is not prompting me?

I was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.

When I insert the USB into my PC, and the Micro USB into my phone I hear a noise but no pop-up comes up on the phone asking me what I want to do.I hear a noise conformation from the phone that a USB device is in use, and the icon at the top but I don't get that list and PC Companion can't detect my phone through the USB. This was working just 20 minutes ago, but it isn't now?

I was using my PC Companion software today to sync up my music and noted the Syncing link. When I started it, it brought me to a Sony website where I can store and sync contact's, calendar and a bunch of things. So it looked pretty interesting and it is free, part of the X10 package, or is it? Well it appears AT&T has stripped that option out of our phones as there is No SE Sync option in the sync section of our settings. Even if we follow the directions to do it, still no joy.

I can't install the PC companion 2.00.146. i already downloaded it but when its time to install it it says "Error Number: 0x80040707. Description: DDL function call crashed: NewUI.ISGlobalSubclassDialog." i already downloaded it 5 times assuming that maybe the PC companion was not downloaded properly but again the same problem occurs.

I get a message on the phone that says there's an upgrade. I assume this is the Android upgrade. It said, I think, "details on the sonyericsson.com support pages", and no, checking exactly what it said is not an option, I need to use my phone, not keep a message displayed until I have time to do something that potentially renders the phone useless. Web pages refer to installing PC companion which I haven't done. Mea f-ing culpa, it didn't work and I didn't bother. So now the instructions just say connect and either pc companion will install or it's already installed. Neither is true. Trying to look at specific instructions for X10 Mini Pro (or even X10 mini), btw, tells me the page does not exist (it has "wandered off", which strikes me as something that a 10 year old support page might be doing, but one for their newest lines? Come on.) And by the by, the X10 mini pro is not selectable when creating a forum account I didn't want. Glad if someone could help, but honestly expecting another expensive SE brick.

When I connect my phone (X10a) to the computer, I am now getting the message: "PC Companion Installation. Select Start to install PC software on your computer. Your phone memory card will be automatically mounted". Is anyone else getting this message? It started happening at about the time of the minor update but I'm not 100% sure if it happened immediately afterwards. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems. Perhaps it's just the new message one gets when plugging the phone in now?

I wait 30 seconds and nothing happens I disconnect my phone and connect it again and still nothing happens all its doing is charging my phone. I've done it over and over again and nothing happens.
