I don't yet have my shiny new X10, but it should be with me in a few days. In anticipation of its arrival, I wonder whether it is possible to read and write Japanese on the phone? I'd like to add an English-Japanese dictionary, and hope that I'll be able to read the Japanese entries.

I bought Xperia X2 in Malaysia last month. I'm having problems to view Chinese and Japanese characters for SMS, e-mail or websites. I really need to type Chinese and Japanese and found that there's no such input method. However, I can view my SMS and mails in other languages through side panels. Is this a big mistake?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWent to send a text this morning from Handcent and noticed that my keyboard had changed a bit. The enter key and the key the farthest on the bottom left both have Japanese characters on them. Also, the key to add a question mark/exclamation mark is not on the board now. I thought it might just be Handcent, so I tried the stock messaging program and the keyboard has the same problem!

View 11 Replies View RelatedFollowing suggestions on this forum I've downloaded the HTC_IME keyboard. It looks great, except for one problem. It's TINY!!! On my X10 the keyboard appears at the bottom left of the screen with lots of empty space to the right of it. It's so tiny that I can't read the "shift" characters on each key. Any ideas how to make it fit the screen like all the other keyboards do?

I use HandecentSMS to text and I can send and recieve, but when I do recieve them I can only read in the quick reply screen and the notification bar, but it won't show up in my conversation screen so it looks like I am talking to myself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still won't work properly.

But when I do this there is no Sony Ericsson option.
I was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
I saw that there are already a number of discussions about sony erricson synchronization but I cannot find one for this specific message: Synchronization failed. It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use my X10 to keep all of my contacts' postal addresses in instead of the tatty old address book I carry in my handbag(!) I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?
