Got the update notification today in PC companion but when I try to update I get the error "unable to install or start phone software update components". I waited too long for this update.

From yesterday, i am unable to install any new apps or update old apps from the market..when i press update/install it says update un successful and the app is also removed. any idea about this problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.
But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.
I am very happy with my X10 Mini Pro. I am a fan of Sony Ericsson Phones for years I had a W995 IO still have it and like it very much. But people this X10 Mini Pro is a wonderful device. I had to get used too it. But now after two weeks fine tuning the phone I am very happy with it. I am still in doubt if it needs a hardware button for starting and stopping a phonecall. I wonder what other user4s think about this?

Am able to do outgoing calls but am unable to pick the incoming calls. even though call receives my mobile am unable to pick that incoming call.. and its saying " Move the slider" what does this exactly mean. also i dont think there is a slider for this phone.

I have had mini pro for about a week now and have NEVER been able to download anything from the android market. It just hangs at the "starting download" phase and never changes. Any ideas in simple terms as how to resolve this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to update my phone now for nearly two weeks, trying various options, yet nothing I do helps in any way.I started off just running the update from SEUS with my phone as i've been using it.the updater started, gets about 70% through "Preparing" and pops up an error "Unable to install or start software update components." Closing which pops up "try again" or come to this site.I then tried uninstalling all installed components, same result as above.I then tried a Master Reset to factory setting, same result as above.I then disable the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, same result as above.Basically, i'm at the end of my tether, this should not be this difficult, I should not have to jump through this amount of hoops.If there was a way to legitimately root the phone (keeping warranty), I could already have Froyo installed, instead of this irritating mess thats causing me nothing but headaches.

By the way, there's an X10 system update. May my phone be confounding them ?
There is no Linux version of Pc Companion? Is there another way to update? It seems odd to me that a phone that uses a Linux kernel only allows you to update using windows? The phone manufacturers are happy to use a free and open source OS but have no interest in providing for the Linux community? Shame on them...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had notification saying I had to update my phone software. I backed up my settings then plugged my phone to my PC and started the update. Followed every instruction and restored my settings back to my phone. I checked on the ABOUT PHONE in the SETTINGS section and noticed that my phone has not been updated at all. Firmware version is still 1.6. Build Number is 1.2.A.1.174. And to top it off........every time I get a delivery report of my credit balance.......the £ sign has been replaced by a white diamond with a ? sign inside it!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm getting this problem where I can connect to WiFi the first time with no problem but once I disconnect and the phone sleeps, it can't connect to the network again and says "Unable to Start WiFi", I can't even get to Wireless settings because it can't start the WiFi.
It's the same story with Bluetooth. It'll work once.
If I turn the phone off and then on again, it will work once more but only ONCE before doing the same thing again.
I have upgraded to android 2.1. I am unable to use sync functionality. Even when the connection is perfect and also the user login details are correct, I am unable to sync the phone data with the online data and hence the error is being shown to check the account settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI activate timescape and it took all my facebook contacts and put it in the address book of my phone, and now i can not see my Sim contacts. how can I undo this, I already turn off facebook in timescape, maybe i should delete it for now as i don't use it, i like to keep my phone contact separate from facebook and access facebook only when i need it. and now i can't configure personal ring for the people i have in my phone book, because it took all the facebook information and its with timescape and doesn't have an option to set a ring for the contact in edit part i just can add it to favorites o delete contact. and i still can not see my Sim contacts they are somewhere because when i tap a name in search bar it shows me the contact and phone, but I'd like to see what i have. i already export my contact from Sim to phone but they still don't show.

Depending on the USB port I either get an error when PC Companion, or Update Service is in the preparation stage, something like: All components needed to continue could not be found. Or I get to the stage when you turn off the phone and restart it with the backbutton pressed which leads to XP wanting to find drivers for SEMC usb flash. By looking through other communities I found those drivers could be found in: C:Program Files (x86)Sony EricssonUpdate ServicesetupdriversUSBFlashDriver.zip. I could initually install those to one USB port, but when trying to download the update through Update Service I get yet another error that the task could not be completed.

I am always asked for resizing the picture.

Did two different bacups, and I am positive that I did backup of contacts. Also did a bacup of all contacts on my online account at sonyericsson.com Did an upgrade of android 1.6 -> 2.1. I ran restore. Everythinge else is restored, just not one single Name or Number. No contacts. Tried both bacups several times, I get a confirmation that the restore is done. Still nothing. Hooked it up to my PC, and performed a sync with my page on sonyericsson.com. Nothing. I am at a loss. It's always a small disaster to loose all numbers and names. I still have them all, I just can't get my phone to give a ****, it seems. ( Also tried installing the new Backup & Restore (1. Nov), m.sonyericsson.com/backup, but it gives me the message "not installed" every time i try. Nothing more. I think maybe it's because I might allready have that program on my phone).
