View 12 RepliesI bought beautiful widgets yesterday for its hero style clock, but it killed my battery within 6 hours today. I was wondering if anyone had tried weather widget donate version on their moment and if drains the battery like beautiful widgets does? I don't want to pay for another widget if it is gonna kill my battery like this one.

Possible we can get that?
I have seen and own several ones with the look but cannot find a single one that actually flips. Was there ever one that did before HTC became all anal about it. Is not like they really invented this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of a good widget that is similar to the HTC sense clock widget? I really liked that on my old phone.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI just freed up my top row on my homescreen and im bored of my 2x1 digital clock widget. Its too plain. What is the best 4x1 clock?(preferably free)
View 5 Replies View RelatedThere's a battery use widget which is actually a shortcut to a menu (or a hidden menu, i didnt find it anyway) that shows the percentage of the battery that every process used.
It shows me:
Android System : 70%
Cell Standby : 14%
Phone Idle : 14%
Android OS : 2%
Anyway, no matter what i do to my phone - running 1.6.3.1 , with APN on, sync off, wifi off, gps off, wireless networks off, around 30 minutes of accessing the network and 30 minutes of calls - the battery almost dies at night.
I'm diggin the Phone 7 clock. Simple and stylish. Anyone know of an android widget that gives that sort of style to my droid incredible?
View 3 Replies View Relatedanyone else having problems after the update to ***od's weather forecast & clock widget? i just updated mine and now it's having "connection to server" problems..?
nice update
I just came from a Droid Eris, and the clock/weather widget was spot on as far as changing weather and showing the correct location based on my location in the network. My Fascinate came with the Weatherbug one, but only updates if you refresh. Has anyone found one for the Fascinate that updates correctly?

View 18 Replies View Relatedif you weren't aware, the "news and weather" widget from 2.1 has been ported to 1.5:
Nexus One Genie Widget
Anyone tried this? i installed it on my galaxy and have a problem: widget works fine (both the weather and the news/weather combo one), but when i tap it to go to the news/weather app i can only view the news pages, the weather page force-closes. if i was at home i could get the error message via logcat but i can't do that right now (will update with that later).
Upgraded myself from a Spica to Galaxy S recently and absolutely loving it.
Quick Question - When I got the phone, it had a Clock/watch on it where the current weather was its background or dial. I think it was a widget of the daily brefing App.
I dragged it to the Trash can thinking that I will replace it later like all other Apps.
Can someone help me get it back on, I cant seem to be able to do so. Tried installing the daily briefing as a widget, but the watch dosent come back.
I bought phone holder for car, and there is two problems bugging me:
1 since holder is pressing camera button is there any way to disable its functionality temporarily (same question for volume buttons too)?
2 Is there any app that can take phone to speakerphone mode when I answer it during car drive?
I can create a static widget without thinking, I can even create a widget like the analogue clock widget that will update itself, however, I can not for the life of me figure out how to create a widget that reacts to when a user clicks on it. Here is the best code sample that the developer documentation gives to what a widget activity should contain (the only other hint being the API demos, which only creates a static widget):
public class ExampleAppWidgetProvider extends AppWidgetProvider {
public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) {
final int N = appWidgetIds.length;
// Perform this loop procedure for each App Widget that belongs to this provider
for (int i=0; i<N; i++) {
int appWidgetId = appWidgetIds[i];
// Create an Intent to launch ExampleActivity
Intent intent = new Intent(context, ExampleActivity.class);
PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, intent, 0);
// Get the layout for the App Widget and attach an on-click listener to the button
RemoteViews views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.appwidget_provider_layout);
views.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.button, pendingIntent);................
I create my own widget with its own drawable for background.
So in my styles.xml file, I have this: <resources> <style name="MyWidget"> <item name="android:background">@drawable/btn_mywidget_bg</item> </style> </resources>
In my main.xml, if i specified my 'style' attribute, my background drawable was displayed correctly. <test.MyWidget android:id="@+id/mywidget" style="@style/MyWidget" />
but if I just do this: <test.MyWidget android:id="@+id/mywidget" /> , the background drawable is not display correctly.
Can you please tell me how can I specify the default style of my widget so that I don't need to add style="@style/MyWidget" everytime I use my widget?
I am looking for a widget that is like ultimate fave that i can use to have quick access to my favourite apps. I like ultimatefave but the fact that you have to open the app before you get the apps up is a bit annoying. Anyone know of anything that is better?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI see there is a TextAppearanceSpan available but no examples on usage. I just want to make the text bold and leave everything else unchanged - is there perhaps a simpler way to do this programmatically?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIve used two digital clock widgets but they both freeze the time and don't move sometimes. I'm looking for either a 1x2 or 1x4 that wont freeze.
View 7 Replies View RelatedGallery in Android is only horizontal scrolling support. And we want make one with vertical scrolling support.
We got plans below. Can anyone give us some advice about which one is right?
1) Linearlayout ( We think it's bad)
2) ListView ( We think it's a good option and get a little worry about performance--too many pictures!)
3) subclass of AbsSpinner like Gallery and do something like Gallery source.
Which one is easy, time-saving and less performance or other problems.
Im using launcher pro and im wondering if there is any widgets out there like the sense style photo widget that lets you flick through your photos on your home screen. Is there anything like that on the market place or not on the market place?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn ApiDemo, there is a progressBar demo. It creates a horizontal progress bar with a xml.
<ProgressBar android:id="@+id/progress_horizontal" style="?android:attr/progressBarStyleHorizontal" android:layout_width="200dip" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:max="100" android:progress="50" android:secondaryProgress="75" />
But how to create one programmatically? If just new ProgressBar(fContext), it is Default ProgressBar style.

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
I'm looking at best way of creating Accordion-style widget such as on this page http://is.gd/1GNI3 What would be the best way of achieving same effect using standard Android toolkit or do I need to build custom widget? If so - which one would you recommend extending if any?
