Just wondering if this feature works well or not. Does it ever pause or skip? I don't have any devices / TV's capable of receiving this type of feed but will buy one next time if it's worth it.

I've used DLNA to connect my phone with my PS3 but it does not see any of the pictures or video in my phones folders. I also tried connecting to my Windows 7 PC. As of right now, I have no idea how to view my phones files using DLNA? Do I need a program? When I select share media, it connects and then nothing happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't figure this out. First thing I did was open allshare. I selected "play media from phone on another device." It couldn't find any devices. I then checked out my PS3. I tried going to the remote play settings to register my device. It gives me a number to input during device registration but this is where I get stuck. I don't know where to go from here. Allshare doesn't have an option to "register a device." How to do this: DLNA works with a PS3.

I've already tried some apps, and BubbleUPnP promises to have this feature, but it just won't play songs from the cloud.
Is there any chance to install a system-wide service that routes all the sounds of the device to the DLNA receiver? On an iPhone that works via AirPlay, there must be something like that for Android too, right?
My husband and I both just got Epic 4G's, and neither one of them will stream Pandora via bluetooth to my Sony XPlod car stereo correctly. Both of them experience major dropouts in the sound. Streaming songs loaded onto the SD card via bluetooth works fine, and streaming pandora via a cable out the headset jack on the phone to the aux in of the stereo works fine as well. So the problem only happens when Pandora specifically tries to stream over the bluetooth. (I am using a Sony XPlod car stereo).

I have a vista machine that has about 400 gigs of music. we are a pc family so my media folders are shared via the wireless network. Is there an app/player that would allow me to browse my shared pc folders and playlist and allow me to stream this music and video? The closest I could find is an app called subsonic. Its not quite what im looking for. samsungs allshare is very basic. subsonic can be a bit complicated for folks that dont know how to set up port forwarding and static lan ip's and also, any apps that would let your phone control windows media player?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if it was imagination - or others have seens it. Pandora (I haven't tried Slacker yet) seems to stream A LOT more smoothly. Even though I had done the "streaming fix" prior to D118 - Pandore was still pretty much unusable. Now - on the way home from work yesterday - and in today (totally of about 30 minutes), may have had like 2 hiccups.

I've had this phone since Tuesday and it's not made it from morning to night one time. I am using it, yes, but I thought that was the point. My usual routine is wake up, check the twitter/facebook feeds, log in and check email, browse a few web pages, and get moving. today, i did all of that and took a walk and listened to a cd for an hour on the doubletwist player. i took a single photo. and made one very short phone call. it is nearly dead. it's been off the hook since 830 and it's only 3. I could do all this minus the music playing part on my blackberry, which was ancient 8830 and i would still have juice by midnight tonight. and it should be noted, blackberry constantly pushed my email--i have k9 set to manual, as i do with the facebook and twitter/social media widget. so that instantaneous access that's supposed to be so useful and exciting--i don't have it.
i've done all the usuals, turned off the bluetooth, the wifi radio, the 4g radio (the whole point of the damn phone), lowered screen brightness to the very lowest number, making it totally useless in bright daylight and i mean completely useless-can't see to answer a damn call), i have the screen lock to 15 seconds. i have the autosyncing off, i have the whole phone crippled, and it's about to die. does anyone have any suggestions? i was using launcher pro, but want to go back to the standard touchwiz--only bummer is i can't swap out the messaging icon for handcent which i installed over the regular msging app--because ppl said it uses less battery drain-- but not sure how to disable the old one. i am using live wallpapers, but again, how much of a drain can they really be overall? i turned off the animations, is this a lemon? will rooting make it better? will the new upcoming os make it better? or is 6 hours of usage all i can expect? srsly, i would like to know, because if that's the case, i will go back to the blackberry. i don't care how fancy the phone is, if you can't use all the fun things without it dying, then what's the point?
I'm trying to figure how to listen to some streaming media on my Droid with 2.01 Firmware. I've tried the following files and default media player won't recognize them. I tried downloading a couple of apps from the app market, but they didn't seem to associate themselves with these files.

I've got my HTC Desire and i got to listen to my favorite radio station. To do that i got to have an media player that can use url's like win amp or windows media player from windows for example. I've tried most of the e-radio software like tune wiki last. FM etc but it does not help.

I know there is a player on it from HTC called "Streaming Media Player" but it doesn't seem to be the default and I would like it to be. When I am using the Engadget app, and the article has a button to click for a video they have created, my phone seems to use the You Tube player and on occasion it just errors, but if I go to the actual article on the engadget web site and click the video, it opens in the HTC player and works fine. I don't get an option to choose which player I want to use when I click on videos, can I change any of this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Nexus 7 on 4.2.1 and (I think it happened since the last update to 4.2.1) have a total impossibility of playing ANY media files over my local network... Whether it's a movie or even an MP3, every single one of my players tell me "sorry this video cannot be played". I can see the file on EF explorer (tried also with a bunch of other explorers, same problem), I can copy it onto my tablet over wifi, but impossible to play the damn file directly like I used to 2 or 3 weeks ago...
I bought a Kobo Arc for my girlfriend (on ICS) and it has no problem streaming anything instantly, even 720p 6gb movies... but when I get my Nexus 7 , nope can't do it anymore
I've tried tons of players (MX, BS, Dice, VLC...etc), tons of files explorers, looked through the file explorers settings...etc etc, but nothing that could get me my media streaming over wifi again...
It's not a huge issue or anything, but it's rather annoying to have to transfer every single media file on the tablet before actually being able to watch/listen to it..

I have barely started playing with Mecanto. It's just hard for me to believe that they will allow you to upload any amount without any type of payment - unless they are planning to charge a considerable amount for the app later on. I do have Pandora installed, and I love it. But sometimes I just want to be able to queue up my own playlist of songs.
I'm trying to create .mp4 video clips that when you click on the link in a browser (I have an Evo 4G) the clip will buffer and stream in the HTC Streaming Media Player. So far I only get this error message when the streaming media player launches: "Warning - Video is not for streaming play. Would you like to download the file." All my clips play great when downloaded to the SD card and they all stream flawlessly on the iPhone. Not sure if this problem is HTC specific or all Android phones. Has anyone created .mp4 clips that can be streamed from a website? What software and settings are you using? I'm using Handbrake which obviously isn't working.

View 12 Replies View RelatedRecently I just create an app (that is using mediaplayer) to play the RTSP Streaming. At the beginning,I use the SIM card to connect to the internet. I try to let the app play for many times. But it was only success once. Many times the app could not play and the buffer always shows 0%. While I use the WiFi to connect the internet, the rtsp could be played but when I use the another WiFi to connect to the internet, to my surprise it failed. Both the SIM card and WiFi, it all could play the http Streaming. The RTSP Streaming is very strange, I can not understand. I guess there is maybe something wrong with Wireless.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering what the current state of streaming online audio through bluetooth stereo is, post cupcake. I think the consensus is that it's not currently possible, but I feel like it should be. In fact, it does ALMOST work. Using StreamFurious or Dizzler, it will start to play and stutter a few seconds, then cut out totally. I can hear a song begin to play, but the audio is choppy and then goes out. So, bluetooth seems to be making, but not maintaining a connection to the audio stream. How to remedy this? I want my streaming SOMAFM.COM.

Can anyone explain how this works and how I can set this up? I'm hoping you guys have experience with DLNA. For some reason I thought DLNA was only available to Samsung TVs.
