I just got directions for my wife( forgot to put the tomTom back in her van) btw-bing is frkn superfast...so was navigation. Ok instead of calling her, could'nt i have sent that info to her phone? She has the blackberry curve-purple. obviously in text form or something? got an app for that? handscent or something?

Ive been searching for awhile, and cant seem to find what im looking for. Just got a droid, was using a blackberry curve 8330 before. I loved my blackberry, but there was so much I couldnt do on it so I decided on the droid.
My friends send me alot of funny pics and videos with sound through mms. On the blackberry, i could view it and then hit the menu button and foward to whoever I wanted. Ive been playing with the droid and cannot figure out how to foward it to anybody. Also on the blackberry, I could send a pic from my photos, then hit the menu button and ADD AUDIO and send a ringtone along with the pic or video to people. I would love to be able to do this on the droid. Ive tried sending a ringtone alone, and it keeps saying it is too large but its only like 5 seconds long. I could send 2 minute ringtones from the blackberry.
Ive posted this in the past but couldnt find a solution, so i thought it might be worth asking again, now people are more savvy with their desires..

Situation
Mr Jones sends me email + word document + pic, i need to forward email to Mrs Smith.
The email forwards but when Mrs Smith gets the email its part of an unknown folder that you cant access the attacements with.
Ive downloaded the attachements properly but that hasnt worked.
If it makes any difference this is with Microsoft Exchange server.
My dad was planning on getting an Android phone soon. I told him that he could go ahead and cancel our texting plan because he'd be able to text from Google Voice. But he was asking what about the people who already text him at his regular number. So I was wondering can you get Google Voice to redirect texts to your regular number to your Google Voice number so it would be free. Is that possible? Or would he have to give out his Google Voice number to everyone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Google Navi to take me somewhere I have never been before. It tells me to get on the freeway and then it says "Destination On My Right." I finally figure out where the place is after calling them. But that was weird.
I then get home and look up directions on Google Maps. It literally says:
7.Take the ramp on the left onto US-59 N
Destination will be on the right
I am using Google Maps on my PC to create a customized route to a destination. When I do a Google Directions search it charts out a route that I do not want to take.
So I use the drag and drop method to change the route on the map and save it to My Maps. When I log back into Google My Maps on my PC, it shows me the modified route and the correct turn by turn directions using the new route. So far so good.
But when I load Google Maps on my Droid and show the layer I just created which is the new route to my destination. It shows me the new route traced on the map, but does not give me the correct turn by turn directions. Instead it always forces me to search for and load the "default" directions that Google found in the first place that I do not want to use. It does this with Google Navigation as well.
Why doesn't it use MY directions that I just created on Google Maps on my PC ?
How can I create a new route to a destinatioin and save it so I can get turn by turn directions using that new route that I have chosen?
In my application I want to show route between two points and display points (something like POI's from my own source) the user will be riding through.
How can I get the directions (polyline) from GoogleMaps? Application will not provide any navigation so I suppose that there are no "leagal obstacles" for doing this (correct me please if I'm wrong).
To declutter the forum and direct new members, could we either:
1.) Update the Sticky at the top of the forum to reflect new developments
2.) Direct those new to rooting to Savoxis's Ally Page, and make that Sticky

On the Belt parkway west in Brooklyn right after the Gowanas Canal - specifically while driving the GPS thinks I'm on the streets rather than the highway? As in it thinks I'm on 3rd avenue but I'm actually on the highway. It keeps telling me to turn left and right when I'm on the highway going straight. Everything else works right but the GPS has been a little off.

I am developing maps application which has to support driving directions and route search and creation. But there is no API support in Android for this.
So i want to use google map APIs instead of Android APIs, Are there any APIs available for driving directions in google. If yes, What are those APIs, How can i use those APIs with Http request/response.
I read some where that earlier googlenav package was there in Android SDK, but it is now removed. May I know the reason for removal of this package, or When can i expect it to come back with fixed version of googlenav in Android? Looking forward to your reply.
Probably I don't understand the layout properties of TableLayout yet. It doesn't seem to be possible to achieve such a flexible table like in HTML, because there are no cells. My target is it to achieve such a layout:

Simply put, I was wondering if an app existed that when a text message containing an address is sent to me, if I could simply click on it, and it would send the directions to Google maps/navigation, or any default GPS program.
Since I am unable to Copy the text with the default messaging program (EVO), I cant just copy and paste it into Google maps.
I am new to Google Maps and i was able to find a map yesterday but it does not give me voice directions. How do i get that? I am using version 4.7.0

In fact: I have an object "Store" with the properties "Latitude" and "Longitude". I want put a button which launch the google maps app and which prepare the direction, like that.
I've changed my Google Maps app to read me directions in UK English since I like the voice. It turns out that dad can't understand it, thus can't stand it.I tried to change it back to US English, but couldn't find that option, either in the app or the help files.
A) How do you change that setting?

GPS was not giving turn by turn directions at all when I was in my car. I realized that the cause of this issue was due to the fact that I recently paired my phone with my cars blue tooth. I turned it off and could hear the GPS. Is there any way to have the GPS go through the speakers or will I have to turn off Blue Tooth everytime?
