Anyone else find it absolutely ridiculous that you can't send/receive files, even pictures, via bluetooth from your computer? I'm hoping that maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

I cant send any files(pictures,mp3 files) through bluetooth.
Can anyone give some solution on how it works?
I`m hoping this in the right place, I have looked all over for some kind of answer to my problem. I can switch B/T on & pair up etc for the 1st time after scanning for new devices, but try & connect again later & it doesn`t want to know ! Also, I can't send or receive files ie pictures, music etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I want to send a contact in my contact list I can via "share" in the contacts menu. It then attaches a .VCF attachment to my email. I can then send it to anyone via e-mail. I tried this with and iphone buddy and he was able to see and save the file as a contact perfectly. He then tried to send me one, but Gmail says that .VCF files are unsuported. How is it that they designed the phone to send them but not receive them. What am I missing here.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant rooted to ICS passion 13.1 and it uses the 3.1.10_ICS_KissYum_yum_good #1 Kernel. I rooted this phone from Froyo 2.2 down to Eclir then to CM7 and then ICS.
Anyways I think that is enough info but the issue I have is I cannot send or receive pictures via text. I used to be able to and I know the plan for Tmo supports it but even if I try to send one to myself all it does is say 'sending message'. I never get one in my inbox and it never gives the time of when it was delivered, or sent out. When someone else sends one to me, it shows the size of the file with a little button that says Download, next to it. Even if i turn wifi on and connect to my router then hit 'download' it doesn't do anything. I don't have the Data plan but I don't think that would cause the issue would it?
I just bought a Galaxy S3 this morning (first Android phone ever!) and for some reason, I haven't been able to send/receive any pictures to/from any of my friends who has an iPhone. I went into At&t earlier tonight and several people without iPhones sent me pictures and received pictures from me with no problems, but everyone with an iPhone couldn't receive my pictures. The techs there told me to try and use the lowest camera resolution and I was able to get one picture to send but still wasn't able to receive any pictures.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI wanted to send an apk to my friend but it says something like not supported filetype and therefore it's automatically rejected and it is not sent in consequence. It's not a problem with my phone but with Samsung i9000 dual core 1.2GHz with mali400. IMO we could fix it by adding a line but I'm not sure which file to edit. Weirdly he's able to send apk's. I can send apk files to everyone but him. His Rom is resurrection remix v4.0.7

Very surprisingly I am not able to transfer (both Send and Receive) any files through BLUETOOTH. This is such a basic function of all mobile. I have tried couple of file managers, Bluetooth Manager but not able to transfer. I have rooted the phone .

I am unable to send or receive/download MMS messages on my droid with neither Handcent nor factory installed messaging program. When i try to send/ download MMS, it just hangs (little icon keeps going in circles like it's working but never finishes, nor are the messages sent). It's not reception. It's not impatience ( it's been hanging for days sometimes).

View 3 Replies View RelatedHello all, I have a great problem with my XPERIA X10 Mini Pro. I am not able to receive any files from my PC (Vaio, Widows Vista). When ever I try to send a file using Bluetooth I receive an error message (even if mobile is paired with pc). This is the same case with other mobile phones also (not able to receive files from other mobile phones using Bluetooth), and at times my device is not even discovered (Please note that I have made my device discoverable and know that it will remain discoverable for 120 seconds only)
Another problem I have encountered with Bluetooth is that when paired with my laptop the phone automatically answers to incoming calls.
I'm having issues with sending text messages to a few people and they aren't even all on the same carrier.I have been using CM 5.0.6.1 and really haven't had any problem until today.I switched to the stock 2.1 with root because i thought that maybe it was the rom and still these people can't receive my text messages they can send me messages and I receive them but I cannot send them out.I have reactivated my phone twice now and nothing has worked.Any help would be much appreciated.I know I said in the title i can't receive them but I can sorry i'm kind of tired at the moment.

(uhm, bluetooth doesn't utilize the network...) 2- the upgrade to 2.1 has caused many of the products to be unable to sync to other devices (well, the speaker works, i just can't transfer files. oh, that is odd - not a helpful reply) and 3 - try a factory reset. (how about, no. every time i've tried that nothing is fixed and i'm back to square one and having to reload all of my programs and data).it's been determined that my settings are correct. has anyone else found this issue and been able to overcome it?

My evo wont do anything once paired to my computer via bluetooth. i paired it successfully, then later i wanted to send a file from my phone to my computer via bluetooth, (i have ftp enabled) and told my computer to expect a file and nothing. it doesn't work. also when i check the pairing profile on my computer, under services it is COMPLETELY blank, there should be some services like dial-up modem and bluetooth speakers and stuff shouldn't there be?
here is what i want to be able to do.
1. i want to send files from my EVO to my computer via Astro Bluetooth.
2. i would also like to use my laptop speakers via bluetooth, example, play Pandora on my phone using my laptop speakers via bluetooth connection
that is really all i want to do but i cant get ANYTHING working. could this be solved by rooting my evo? i really just wanna be able to do basic bluetooth functions with my phone.
Handcent wont send them at all so I deleted it, I sent one photo through regular text message, but no more will send.

I was navigating the other day, and a call came in and I answered with the handsfree system in the car. When directions came up, it cut in the call, and announced the directions over the speakers. Is there any way to directly do this for navigation only?
Another quick question. I have my phone set up with my Mac Book Pro. I can send files with bluetooth to the laptop, but when I go to browse the phone from the computer, it says connection failed. I do have ftp turned on on the phone.
I had my Droid X plugged into my computer and the next day when I was using it, noticed that all of my pictures were gone. My DCIM folder is empty, with all 100 pics missing.
I do have a folder in the DCIM folder called SPMO files and it has many .spmo files that are roughly 500k each in size.
Does anyone know what happened to all of my pictures and is there any way to recover them. I've tried a restart and that did not work. Has anyone else had this happen to them.
