Motorola Droid X :: Rebooting Middle Of The Call
Aug 9, 2010My DX keeps rebooting I've only had it about 4 days and it keeps randomly rebooting. Very frustrating when I'm in the middle of a call or something of importance.

View 10 RepliesI just replaced my Motorola Droid. Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhile I'm talking to someone, if I receive a text/alarm goes off/or any other notification that vibrates, the phone still vibrates even though I'm in the middle of a call. It is very annoying to have the phone vibrate while it's against my face, and the person I'm talking to can hear it as well. It just started doing this a few weeks ago, and nothing seems to fix it. I am running 2.1v1

View 3 Replies View RelatedRight in the middle of the call, Thank God I had already given the address or the person could have died. This phone is now starting this same thing like my Evo number 1 was doing and about at the same two weeks in its in service time frame. If this keeps up I'm bailing out as much as I love the phone and all.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat's your work around for e-mail notifications in the middle of the night. I really don't want to change setting every night just to set them back each morning. (the phone sits in the docking station on the nightstand). I guess I could just silent phone with the volume shortcut on the side of the phone, however if I receive a call or text in the middle of the night 99% of the time it is truly important. As stupid as it is, I have the crank yankers "I got mail" notification for my e-mail accounts for work and home. My wife says that if it goes off one more time in the night (lately about 3-4 times a night, & at all hours) she is going to smash my phone. Half the time it doesn't wake me up, and if it does, I can fall back asleep no problem. But for the sake of keeping wifey happy, I have to come up with a solution.
View 14 Replies View RelatedLoving it so far, but I have a quick question (figured I might get a quicker response here)...by default the homescreen is on page 2. Is there any way to make the default homescreen the middle one (page 3)? Edit: never mind, apparently it's an issue with Launder 2.1

This is my first post but I have been lurking around these forums for some time. Well lately I have been having problem with my Droid. It just keeps shutting itself off. Any ideas ppl?
View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to root my moto droid, following all instructions in the "The All-new Guide to All Things Root-related" thread. However it seems I've found myself a problem that isn't described anywhere i can find. Upon opening RSD and rebooting into the bootloader my computer (Windows XP pro 32 bit) says that its found new hardware: "SE Flash OMAP3430 MI". I've already installed the provided 32 bit drivers for my droid, but it seems the bootloader itself requires its own set of drivers. Tried showing the found new hardware wizard where the droid drivers where located, would not accept them. Also tried the search the internet option, again no luck. Something's clearly amiss...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been getting random reboots ever since I updated to froyo. It's been happening since the first nandroid backup, the nexfro, and Pete's Bugless Beast
The phone works completly fine and fast but it will just reboot out of nowhere.
It doesn't happen on the charger
If I restore to one of my 2.1 roms it doesn't do it
It even happens while i'm on a phone call
It doesn't seem to have a pattern of when it happens it seems really random
My Milestone (as the droid is called here in Europe) has auto-rebooted twice in 4 days for no apparent reason. I'm taking into consideration returing it, since i've had it for 5 days or so. 2 reboots (for what I know of, at least, coz maybe it happened at night also i don't know) in 5 days in a new phone makes me think the problem can get worse over time.
View 3 Replies View Relatedso I am trying to root my droid x with 2.2 with the directions from the XDA site. I made it to the step where the phone is to reboot and pull up the c:xxxx. but my phone is still and the red eye after rebooting and it has been here for 15 mins now. not sure what to do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPlease help if you can. I just flashed a new kernel for NexBeast. I had been running the 800Mhz one that Fabolous has posted on his thread and I decided to try a faster one to see how my phone responds. I'm copied the zip to my SD card and used ROM Manager to install it. I didn't wipe data/cache since I'm only installing a kernel. I also didn't do a backup because I just did one yesterday prior to loading a custom boot animation. ROM Manager did its thing and then the phone went to reboot, but I get stuck on the Motorola "M" and never get to the boot animation. The "M" will be on the screen for about 30 seconds and then will disappear for a moment only to return. I let it go for about 10 minutes hoping it was just stuck in a short loop, but it never stopped. I pulled the battery and tried again, but I'm still having the same problem. What can I do here? I'm new to rooting, so I'm stuck. I'm not too familiar with ClockworkMod Recovery, so I'm lost. I know that when I was still using SPRecovery I was able to boot into recovery while holding "X" and then I could access my backups from there, but I tried that and I'm not seeing any of my backups I made using ROM manager.

View 22 Replies View RelatedAbout two hours ago, I noticed my Droid was hot in its case. I took it out and noticed that it was constantly rebooting on about a two minute cycle. Tried to boot it up in safe mode (successfully) but it still rebooted. I managed to keep it running long enough to uninstall an app I had loaded today, but still no luck. Constant reboot. Any help before I call VZW support?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had the Moto Droid for three days now and it reboots itself or freezes frequently. It does this at least 10 times a day.
First thought: apps conflicting, right? But this was happening with no apps on it at all. It happens in the music player, home screen, and just about anywhere. There is no pattern to it.
My final assumption is that this is a problem with Android 2.0 and patches and updates will be coming to minimize these freeze ups and reboots, but wanted to pop in an ask the community if they've been seeing the same thing, or if they have any tips/tricks to stop these.
Ok, my friend gave me his Droid and I'm trying to reboot it to its original OS. Its bricked and my computer isn't reading the phone when I hook it up. I'm going in circles trying to find out what can it be. I don't know what else to do. Should I give it back or can I fix this bricked phone?
View 35 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my phone for 5 days, do not know how I used a BB before. My phone has been locking up and rebooting about twice a day after I started loading up apps on the 3rd day .Is there a way to see what programed crashed the phone?I guess I could go back one by one and start taking them off, but is there any other way that is not such a pia to see what is causing this
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought one of the $4 batteries from Amazon. I dropped the Droid from several low levels at several angles and it never rebooted. Clearly the original battery was just slightly smaller dimensionally to allow a brief but significant loss of contact with the Droid. Verizon did send me a "refurb" but I send it back with a note that it was unacceptable to send a phone which at one time had someone else's problems in it as a replacement. I'm so very glad I did.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Droid keeps rebooting on it's own. It stuck in a boot loop. I have tried to do a wipe and restore a android backup that I made last week but it is still rebooting. As soon as the phone tries to mount the SD card reboots. I have also tried to restore it to a plain vanilla backup that I made right after I rooted my phone.
Clockwork see the SD card with no problems and can read and write to it. Also Win 7 can see the card when I put it in my laptop. This seems to have started after I used MotoTorch Flashlight and had to do a battery pull on it because the phone locked up.
I recently Rooted my droid 1, and it went well, nothing wrong with it. I was wanting a new ROM, so i used RSD Lite to flash SP recovery to my phone. I flashed it and the screen say SPR has been installed. So on my CP on RSD Lite it said Rebooting your phone. It never rebooted it and after a while RSD said Please manually reboot your phone. So i did and when it rebooted it had the battery icon displaying o battery charge, even though i knew my phone wasn't dead, because i had it plugged in with maybe 40% remaining or so. So after unlocking my phone it displayed the Android Shutting Down Screen, but it didnt shut down, it halfway rebooted back to the "Red Eye" on start up, and it repeated this cycle over and over. I pulled the battery. Right now somehow the phone managed to stay off after shutting down, and i have it plugged in to my computer, and the little white LED light next to the USB port is on. I havent restarted it but im seeing if it will charge.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I'm relatively new to rooting. I'm running BB .4, and that went okay. I'm trying to install a theme using ROM Manager. I backup and wipe and it loads into recovery and all that. That runs okay. Then, when it's rebooting, it gets stuck on the DROID screen. Well, actually, it does it once, goes to the Droid eye, and then just repeats the DROID screen over and over. A battery pull allows me to get back into recovery, which lets me restore my back up and then it boots just fine, but I'd really like to make my phone purple. Any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeems to be getting more frequent. At first it was just freezing and would sometimes return to a usable state while I was listening to music. In the past couple of days it has begun freezing completely when using gtalk or other messaging applications when I would go to enter text. Voice to Text hangs and then force close, but everything else freezes up. I hold down the power button and feel the vibration when the screen to choose what option comes up, but nothing on the screen changes. A minute later, it reboots. I haven't had to do a battery pull yet.
Droid is rooted and I have removed maybe 3 apps... I can't pinpoint an installation of something that maybe caused this to start. Anyone with similar issues? Any fix? Should I just try and swap it out? I have the newest update...
This happening to anyone else? It's getting VERY annoying. I'm running Froyo, and normally I'm connecting as a mass USB storage. Everytime I connect it, the phone reboots before I can use it via USB at all. Any fixes out there?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a MotoDroid that has Froyo 2.2... I rooted it and am running a new rom. I was trying to boot into recovery using rom manager and it doesnt work. I also tried holding the x and power button down to reboot and it wont work either. It just shows the "M" for a long time then flashes "M" comes up again and in load like normal or it sometimes freezes and I have to take the battery out. just also tried to back up current rom and that doesnt work either.
