View 23 RepliesNeed the ability to have multiple notification sounds per contact. For example: if my friend emailed me, I'd hear one customized sound; if she texted me, I'd hear another; and if she called me, she had a 3rd sound. Now, I know the Inc cannot currently do this, so here's my question: is there an app out there for this?

View 28 Replies View RelatedAnd from what I have seen so far I shoulda got the Droid when it first came out. Although a little bigger in size it is a solid feel and I love the speed. No Lag Hero was darn laggy. Anywho, I am part of the droid cult and here to stay. Can anyone tell me of any good apps to have or must have apps on this phone and what else I can do with this thing? Also is there a place I can download songs directly on the phone or on my pc to put on this bad boy? And how do I get custom ringtones etc?Is the stock sms good enough or should I go with one of the sms apps like the one that starts with an H cant think of the name right now? Is there an issue with battery life with the stock sms like there was with the Hero?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 8 or 9 ringtones downloaded into the music app from ringtone. All done prior to the Froyo update. Very easy, just download and wala, there they are. So, I just downloaded 3 more songs. Upload successful. Go to the music app and they aren't there. Downloaded them again, go to the music app....still not there, just the previous downloads. So, where are they? ON my sd card somewhere? How do I find them, no sense in keeping on downloading and eating space. Should I uninstall and reinstall due to Froyo?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some mp3s that I have used for ringtones on past phones (KRazr, Blackberry), and from what I've found, to add them to my Droid 2, I put them in the media/audio/ringtones folder on my SD card. I've done that, but they don't show up in my list. I've also tried restarting the phone (aks the Microsoft approach), but they're still not available. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to put the files?
View 2 Replies View Relatedcustom ringtones set up for 2 contacts but the same ringtone rings for both. also, whenever i answer the phone the ringtone continues to play through the ear-speaker for half a second. phone call works fine it's just annoying.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know that you can take any MP3 you have on your phone and turn it into your ringtone. Pretty snazzy. Is there a way to decide where the MP3 will start? It begins at the start of the song Say... random example.... that I wanted Mr. Roboto as my ringtone. There's a lot of intro to get past till the good stuff begins. If I want to hear the hook, the call has long since gone to voice mail.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHaving a problem with Ringtones I've created in RingDroid getting reset. For example I made two ringtones for alarms and incoming calls in ringdroid, then set the phone up to use them. The problem comes when I reboot the phone. The phone ringtone and alarm ringtone both say "unknown ringtone" after that. I'm assuming this is because the ringtones are on the sdcard and that isn't mounted until the phone is already booted up.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have tried looking but can't seem to find any answers, forgive me if i didn't find it but it is out there. But I was figuring with the rooted phone that some developer out there would have been able to work the sending of ringtones(mp3) as a mms. Or has there been a app developed that will be able to do this. Please help. I have to admit that being able to do that has been one of the things that i miss about my blackberry.
View 3 Replies View RelatedTo make a long story short, I needed to hard reset my phone. After it started up again, and before I installed/changed/added anything, I found there were two of every ringtone.
I found this thru home/menu/applications/sound & display/phone ringtone.
How do I remove the dupes? Is there an app that'll let me choose the ringtones that appear on the above list? Can I do this without rooting the phone?
I got my Droid finally on Saturday and I've been putzing around a lot. One nice surprise was that after getting the Mabilo ringtone app (where all the tones are free etc) I found a ton of the ones I've used in the past and had set up to copy over from my computer.
Now I know Mabilo keeps its own ringtone directory, and I copied over my own folder "Ringtones" to the root directory.
I have Astro file manager installed. Can you use this to move ringtones from certain folders to others or do I have to do this manually via mounting the MicroSD? I had Quark Ringtone app installed for a bit and there's only one tone in there I want before I uninstall can you move files via Astro?

I just d/l-ed an app called ringtone mp3, and I got the monday night football mp3 downloaded onto my phone. How do I make it a ringtone now? When I open up the sound settings, my song doesn't show up.
Im sorry if this is a newb question, but I cant figure it out.
Eventually I want to make some of my contacts have individual ringtones, but I have to jump over this hurdle first.
So my wife got a tablet for a specific purpose which is to use it as a portable gallery showing pictures and videos. She wants files to be located on device so no connection needed to view. She wants a custom background screen and then different buttons for each Gallery category. User opens per normal and then can scroll through pictures. If video then thumbnails/list of available videos for user to choose from.
New to Android and not sure how to go about getting this done.
I normally don't like making new threads to ask questions about stuff if the info is already out there, but unfortunately, I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for anywhere. I've googled and done searches and manually looked through the threads here on AF I even checked the documentation the X came with. My Fiancee just got the X and was setting it up and she was looking for a way to set up individual ringtones for certain contacts the way she had them set up on her Droid but there doesn't seem to be an option to do it on the X. Does anyone happen to know anything about this?

I can set the general ringtone, but not any contact-specific ringtones. The manual (page 21) says it is doable: "Tip: When editing a contact, you can set a ringtone, address, and other details that will be saved on your phone."but I find nothing in the edit contact screen that lets me select a ringtone for it.Can anyone give me the steps?
