In the system dump i found a android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.xml file in the .etc/permissions directory...does this hold any water?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
I just so happened to walk into my local Verizon Wireless store today on my way home from work and what do you know, they had 2 Incredibles in stock. I bought both, one for me and one for the wife.She hasn't seen hers yet, she's out of town, but coming from an original Blackberry Storm, this thing is sick!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently called Verizon about the keyboard lag in my phone. Although it doesn't skip anything when typing, it can annoy me at times. Verizon said to do a soft reset which actually solved the issue... for a day. I then called Verizon another time and the lady told me that this is just an issue with smart phones and that she is experiencing it with her ERIS, Droid, and Blackberry phone. She told me if I use my phone a lot (which I do) that I should do a soft reset every few days to keep it "smooth." I think this would be a good thing, but is this actually something that I should do? Anyway, I proceeded to call HTC just to see what they would say. I had nothing to lose. The man immediately told me in the middle of my question: "NO, there is no fix." I then asked if this could be fixed with updated software, and he did his little script about not being able to talk about future updates and rumors and how he can't talk about when android 2.0 will come out exactly (although I didn't ask). Both supports were great and I was very satisfied. I am posting this to answer any future searches and to ask a question. The question: Can this be fixed with software updates? I love posting on other forums that interest me via my phone and in the browser it is SO laggy and I can't even believe it. My dad's iPhone has no lag in the browser, but I guess the iPhone doesn't have a two year old processor. Thanks for reading this mess I wrote.

The file not found seems android embedded resources. Can any one explain why? I am using HTC Magic, official rom 1.5

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'
Update:
- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

My Motorola Backflip is just 2 days old. I am facing some issues regarding Android Keyboard and Dialer applications and the Update of the system.
Android keyboard :- application functions improperly on an intermittent basis.When I want to compose a message and I open the keyboard for typing the typed characters are recognized (I can see them popping up) nut in the input box nothing gets typed.
Dialer application - When I want to place a call and hit the Green Call button in left of Home button I face following issues
1) the application takes a few second to appear
2) when I double-click or press and hold the contact to call the desired number the call does not initiate.
Finally I had to restart my phone.In two days this has happened so many times.
Also I tried checking for updates may times.But it said "the device is unable to connect to the server.Try again later."
There are no issues with my Wireless network.I ran Marketplace application and signed into my Google account successfully.
I plugged my phone into my computer after 2.2 update, and now it doesn't have the drivers for the MB810. I can't run adb shell anymore...it can't see the devices when I try to run it. I am running Win7 32-Bit. Phone is in USB debugging and PC Mode

View 5 Replies View RelatedK my frustration level is definitely climbing.I've checked and don't see anything related to this specific issue.I'm following the step by step instructions on RootYourDroid. Have tried both the custom recovery image (adb shell is what's getting me that message) and the busybox instructions. Each time, in the adb window when I try either option I get an "error: device not found" After doing some research, I found info saying it likely had something to do with the debugging drivers. So I uninstalled them, reinstalled them and went through that whole process again. Tried both the busybox and custom recovery image steps. Still getting the error message.
Anyone have any experience with this issue that might be willing to sling some help my way?

Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. I finally have a solution Hurray.simple when call arrives hit the power button Once. the screen will go black and lock. and you can move all over the screen with touching etc and the call continues when you are ending the call just hit the power button again and everything goes live again on the screen to conclude the call. I was to almost ready to go back to my old phone just to be able to talk on the PHONE.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIve been trying to reroot my droid and get it back to 2.2, i get it to rooted 2.0.1 no issues but when i try to go from there to 2.2 I always get errors in SPrecovery, when i try to do install from SD card i get error 30, when i try to do a backup i usually get and error. I got the backup to go through once but when i try to restore I get error 20. in SPrecovery when I select /mount SD it says SD card can not be found.
In Droid root helper I've mounted renamed installed busybox and flas, ive flashed the recovery, unmounted, synced, rebooted.
seems to go through fine.
then I put the rom I want Kangerades (http://androidforums.com/roms-droid/117131-7-7-10-rom-froyo-kangerade-5-0-9-a.html) green one, I put it in the root of my SD card, reboot to recovery, backup (try to, usually fails) wipe cache, then i try to install ROM from SD card keeps giving error. ( ive tried without wiping cache, with out wiping data and withou wiping both)
and tips? is their something im doing wrong? (first time I rooted and went to 2.2 I had much less issues.
I have also wiped my SD card completely and reinstalled everything (tools etc...)
I switched to blueberry kangerade today, and downloaded the goodies folder that contains a bunch of boot animations and live wallpapers, but the app that runs the kangerade scripts to change the animations and the live wallpapers keeps saying that the zips are not found. i've tried changing the location of the zips to the directory where the app expects to find them and still no luck. is there another way to get the wallpapers and boot animations to work?

Other people seem to have no problem with it, so I can only figure it has something to do with being rooted. Has anyone else had this problem, or is there a way to get the app without going through the market?

Went through quite a hassle with Verizon trying to get it replaced.They kept telling me a new one would be here by "Tuesday", no phone, call again, should be here by "Friday", no phone...OK, now i'm frustrated. Finally on Monday, a box from Verizon, and surprise, it's a new Droid 2 YAY. Now on Tuesday, another delivery with a box from Verizon, with yes...another Droid 2. That was almost 3 months ago. The second Droid 2 has just sat on my desk, no charges from Verizon, no phone call or anything asking for it back.Today, my son drops the in use Droid 2 phone and it shattered and it's not working. So, I say to myself, no problem I have a brand new one on my desk. My concern is that if I activate it, it will trigger some thing with Verizon and I will then be charged $500 bucks for the phone. What do you all think? Have I actually got a free 2nd phone, or is it just a pretty paper weight.
