I noticed that LauncherPro has been acting weird. It'll constantly restart (the icons would disappear then reappear in 5 seconds), it'll lag at redrwaing the widgets/icons when rotating the screen, and it'll force close on me once or twice a day.

I installed ADW.Launcher 2 times now. But for some reason I'm getting a lot of force closes. Then when I hit the icon at the bottom to display all my apps; that's even messed up sometime. Is anybody else having this issue? I'm thinking that maybe Beatutful widges or Bettercut is the problem but I'm not sure. I really don't want to uninstall all my apps and install them one at time just to find out what's the problem. But that may be my only choice.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi recently flashed the 2.2 MDW ROM and everything went well for like the first 30 minutes. So i was restoring my applications and such and on the first attempt i restored some things using My backup pro and as soon as I restored my data when i tried going to my home screen the launcher would constantly force close. So of course i couldnt accomplish anything while this was happening so i had to nandroid and start over. On the second attempt i tried NOT using My backup pro thinking that that was the issue but then yet again my launcher started force closing. Now i really want to go to 2.2 but obviously i cant because of the launcher force closing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my managers phone and gave her 0.5.3 back when it was the standard fresh rom. Well last night she used fresh updater I believe to go to 3.1.0.2, which I know requires a wipe but she isn't exactly savvy on all of this. In any event, after the update the phone does not load the launcher. Upon unlocking the phone it is stuck in the com.htc.launcher has stopped unexpectedly. And after force close it loops this error. I can only see the lock screen or access the phone's SD card from my PC, I can change options such as "charge only" "disk drive" "usb debugging" but that's about it. Other than that I can get to Amon Ra recovery.What are my options for helping her out with this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've noticed my Nexus acting a bit buggy since the 2.2.1 update. Lots of force closes with the launcher. (which is exactly why I shredded and burned my old MyTouch for). After FINALLY getting a THIRD 16 gig card, after the other two got "damaged" costing me so far 25-30 gigs of content, I loading it up with movies and songs for my vacation. I go to reboot and it keeps looping the boot animation but wont boot up. Getting really close to kissing Android good bye as I've had NOTHING but bugs and damaged SD cards and an overall terrible user experience for a year and a half with two phones. I know we're only really two years into development but how much longer do we have to wait for a finished product that I don't have to keep making excuses for? More to the point WTF is going on with the boot loader on my phone and how do I fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.0d for several days now and love it. Very quick and stable when using sense ui, however when I switch to the stock launcher some very strange stuff happens.
The thing takes 3-6 seconds to open from sleep, it just hangs on the background image with no icons or nothing. Then after that finally loads there is an even longer delay when you try to pull up the programs.
After you do this the first time the launcher becomes very quick and normal, that is until you put the phone back to sleep, when you put the phone back to sleep and re-open the whole process repeats.
This does not happen with sense, so is autokiller, killing launcher causing it to completely reload everytime? Is there a way to switch it where it kills sense and lets launcher run?
I got a Samsung Galaxy S, through Bell and it has 2.2 on it... it has a feature that allows me to end applications like going CTRL+ALT+DEL in windows, because it shows the battery usage so it makes me a little more concerned about that, but anyways now some apps are force closing, crashing sometimes.. is it best to not force close any apps? has anyone had the same problem for the same reason? Some apps i just cant "quit" like in windows.

I have been trying to add a map to my application, I have followed instructions on the android developers HelloGoogleMaps tutorial but my map is just force closing when I run the maps option. I have obtained my api key logged permissions in manifest (Internet, Maps) and logged intent. View 9 Replies View RelatedI've searched the internet/XDA far and wide for an answer but can't seem to find a solution that fits my exact issue. I'm trying to mod my android keyboard to have red text color instead of white. I decompiled LatinIME.apk and edited styles.xml found in the Values folder. I only changed TWO lines which contain the hex color code for white- "#ffffffff". I changed them to the corresponding hex code for red which looks like #fff44444. I recompiled using ApkMultiTool. I deleted the resources file using the keep folder method and everything compiles fine. I then pushed the app to system/app making the correct adjustments to the permissions. I reboot the phone and keep getting the error message of, "unfortunately, Android Keyboard has stopped." When I go into my sms app and try to open the keyboard to send a text the message pops up again, however in the background my keyboard pops up and it DOES have the red text color I was looking for. So my modifications worked but I can't get the apk to run correctly. The ONLY file I made any modifications to was styles.xml.
I tried to wipe data for the android keyboard as well as my user dictionary but to no avail. I'm using a t-mobile G2X running Eaglesblood 4.0.4 AOSP.
The other day my Android Market just started force closing on me every time I tried opening it. I thought, "no biggie, it will probably stop doing that after I reboot it." Well...no luck. Been two days now and the problem is continuing. I can't even open the market up. Any suggestions? I am running 2.1leakv2 (I know I know v2...I just didn't want to update because it would wipe my entire phone again, and I have absolutely no problems with v2 other than this now).

For some reason if I enter a non decimal number such as 3, or 5, it works fine but when I enter a floating point such as 3.4 or 5.8 it force closes. I cant seem to figure out whats going on.
I have been having troubles keeping my launcher (tested both ADW and LP) open in the background while doing most things. Sometimes it will stay open while I switch through a couple apps, but a lot of times I will literally hit the Engadget widget to read one article, 20 seconds later hit home and it will redraw the whole desktop and I wont be able to do anything for 5-10 seconds. It does this a lot. I very rarely have FC's with an error message, probly gotten 1-2 in the past 5 days I have been on this ROM, but it seems like the system has just killed the launcher and it has to reload everything, almost everytime I hit the home button.
There is some general info, here are my questions:
1. Does this happen to everyone and I just need to deal with it or use stock launcher2?
2. I have messed with the memory settings and tried many different combinations, is there one people have found works well with the Droid? Does this make a big difference?
3. Does using the market version of these launchers (which I am) matter? Would it be better to install them some other way, push them somewheres with ADB?
4. Is this a purely memory based issue? I was letting the BB task manager do it's job, problem was happening, then tried Advan. Task Killer with auto-kill on and off, problem still happened.
HTC Sense keeps force closing on my EVO. I have turned the phone off and back on and the same happens. If I switch to a HTC scene, as opposed to a Custom scene, it works fine for awhile. I had it working almost a whole day, but HTC sense starting force closing again, once it starts, it keeps doing it, until you change HTC scenes again. If you change to a custom scene, the force close continues. I disabled HTC sense. Now I can't turn HTC sense back on, but I don't really want to if I am going to keep having the same issue.
For now I need to know if anyone else is having HTC Sense force close on them, and if there is a fix, or if it is known what is causing it. I will worry about how to turn it back after I find out why it's doing it and can fix it. I did a search for HTC Sense force closes and could not find anything, so I started this thread.
Now my sms keeps force closing. Even if I just have 2 texts. Anyone else have this issue? I don't want a new phone because I have a full skin protector on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a app that runs properly on andorid 1.6 and on my test G1 phone. It is force closing on the new Android 2.1 phones. I am parsing XML( from internet) and displaying in a listview. Is the openstream() method no longer supported. If I debug the app in api level 7, xml is correctly parsed when I step execute it, as soon as I hit continue the app gives the following stack. Any ideas?

The SMS keeps force closing on me on my Droid 41/09. Sometimes two or three times a day. When it force closes, it deletes all threads. It even does it when there is only one thread with a few messages in it. I haven't noticed anything specific that causes the force close to happen, it just happens when it wants to. I removed all downlaoded apps and the problem persists. I am using the default messaging app. Is anyone else experiencing this and has anyone found a solution? I absolutely love this phone and it is my first Android device.

I ended up removing Twitter, facebook, etc w/o removing my user ID. Now, accountsync FC's everytime I try to open it. In light of my mistake, how do I correct this issue? View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked3. Then applied Unrevoked Forever. Then tried to update to 2.2 with the Update.zip method from the google server file. Phone kept rebooting and force closing. Attempted to Unroot which I am not sure I did properly. I also think my phone is still S-off. Tried to update to 2.2 after unrooting and get errors and it aborts. Now I am also worried that I will not be able to receive the OTA update. Any suggestions? Any way to make sure I am unrooted?
